I think Camera 2 API works as I have selected that in Open Camera and it didn't give an error.
Raw format isn't supported on our hardware

To enable in Open Camera, go to Settings, and select "Use Camera2 API" (if it's not there, it isn't supported on your rom).
I had this option on my blisspop V 1.9 or V 2.0 rom as open camera was the default camera.
don't know now as I'm testing RR V 5.4.5 .

1) open build prop editor.
2) type persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
3) save and reboot.
4) it's done now you can use full professional mode on Moto g4 plus.
Try AZ camera manual premium app for best result better than manual camera app.

Check again, if you write HAL in small letter it wouldn't work camera2api is implemented but not enabled by default.
Thank you. I was looking for this.
Edit: isn't working here. I am on Invicta OS 4.2 Android 7.1.2, @Aby lad are you on stock rom?
I tried with the AZ camera but it's crashing when i try to open the app, i tried with Open Camera (API 2 support) and it automaticly hangs.
Please provide more info about in which ROM this tweak is working.

I am using stock rom az camera it hangs when i capture raw image approx 30mb size. Try manual or proshot camera if they works.

On custom rom there is problem with camera2 api
so how can I enable the camera 2 API on the latest version of Cosmic OS which I currently have installed on my phone? Should I flash the Motocamera zip to enable those libs? I'm a completely inexperienced person in understanding these things. So, please don't mind if I have said something wrong.
can anyone open captured RAW image? I'm on stock rooted nougat november security patch and after taking photo with AZ camera, I cannot open the 30mb file not in the phone and not in picasa, photoshop...

Replace camera2 libs from system >vendor of cosmic os from stock nougat
Flashing Motocamera zip will allow to use Moto camera app on custom rom.
Thank you so much for helping out. Will surely look into the matter.

If you really want to use hal3 you need to
1)delete /system/lib/hw/camera.msm8937.so
2)rename camera.vendor.msm8937.so to camera.msm8937.so
3)then enable hal3 in build prop
4)Reboot

You can record [email protected] slow motion with google cam and [email protected] with stock camera.
But if you enable this mod you cant use portraid mode on stock camera if you want use portraid mode

Due to the new arm64 Roms i decided to find the best gcam port that would work for the g5s, so i found it.
GCam Port v1 [8.0-9.0] - [Download]
GCam Port v2 [Better Low Light & Stability] [New] - [Download]
It needs camera2api enabled. Add this to /system/build.prop:
Code:
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
(Optional) To prevent certain applications from using camera2api, add this line to /system/build.prop:
Code:
camera.hal1.packagelist=org.lineageos.snap,com.motorola.cameraone,com.whatsapp,com.instagram.android
For GCam Port v1 you need some application settings to prevent camera crashes:
Go to Gcam Settings > Advanced Settings > Model and select "Nexus 6P"
Go to Gcam Settings > Advanced Settings > Config camera HDR+ and select "Pixel 2017 Zsl Hdr+(new)"
V1 issues:
Some modes do not work
Crash when processing photos taken in sequence with hdr+ enabled
Random Bugs
V2 issues:
Some modes do not work
Video recording broken
HDR+ on portrait mode not work
Random Bugs

The camera has to be opened only after putting the "persist.camera.HAL3.enabled" in the build.prop and restart the device, because it will crash for not detecting the camera2api

I did put it and restart, but I don't think the file saved properly. So I installed Pix3lify and it works now. Also if you install Pix3lify instead of editing the build.prop

Hi, this is not my gcam and not my xml files, I only share 2 gcam tested by me (in android 10 custom rom and gsi) and fully working.
Thanks for the users who shared (happymilkman_ teftel and other user in Sakura group).
How to use xml files:
Make a folder in internal storage named : GCam
Inside that folder make another named : Configs7
In that folder put the xml files inside.
In gcam double click next to shutter button and choose your xml config and click in restore.
Finalstable xml is for revolt gcam.

Excellent! I found that the "Revolt-7.0(PiTG)" version works best for me using AOSiP 9.0 rom. I had to switch off the "portrait.depthdata" and switch on "mod.use_portrait_fix_format" and "portrait.allow_raw_blur" settings in Developer Settings because the portrait using front cam was giving a completely blurred photo. I used "FinalStable.xml" as the base config.

Isn't working for me on aosip pie, did u flash some fix?
revolt is working good for me on stock android 10
I'm using the Revolt version and it works just fine on Android 10 (I was one of the lucky guys where the OTA went without a hitch).
One question I have: is there any way to influence the image file name?
Yesterday I took a pic using the portrait setting and the photo was called "00100sPORTRAIT_00100_BURST20200325173925842_COVER.jpg".
I'd like to be able to change this to for example IMG_yyyymmdd-hhmmss.jpg or something equally simple.
Thanks in advance.
im using revolt too its working,, but sadly lastnight when silence day im tried to captured a milky way on this phone and not working lol (tried on night shot/astrofotography)
and all Raw files is broken when i put it on adobe lightroom.
well i think its time to buy a new phone lol~

Front camera is working with following settings:
HDR+ you need to disable (display) flashlight
no HDR* with enabled (display) flashlight
No FC on stock android 10. But SlowMotion seems to be broken. Stock cam works, but with GCAM 5/6/7 video is stuttering.
