what app do you need to use to swipe left and respond to texts via voice? it doesnt work with the stock messinging app. it used to work for me with gosms pro, but now it doesnt. anyone know a good text app that will allow me to do this? without being able to repond to texts via voice while i am driving serves no purpose. BTW i have the same issue with my asus zenwatch, so it seems to be an android problem not a phone specific one.
I use Chomp for texts and voice responses via the Moto 360 works for me.

i use Textra and it also works fine
Note 4 stock messages works.

Textra works great with the 360

Note edge stock messaging app works fine, although if I pause speaking for just more than a fraction of a second, the watch thinks I'm done speaking and sends the reply.

I love Mighty Text - lets you send/receive SMS/MMS from PC just as if it was sent from phone and it even shows up in your phone.
It's great, but ever since I got my note 3 I can't get MMS to send through Mighty Text. I can send MMS through phone.
I also have Handcent SMS on the phone but that wasn't a problem with my S4 or previous phones.
Anyone have this issue or better yet a solution?
Obviously it's not critical sending text through MightyText still works but I'd like to be able to send MMS that way again.
Thanks

I have Note 3 and same issue. MMS is not sending.
If you are on Wifi, data must also be enabled for MMS to work. I am using Handcent.

I'm not using Handcent or any other text app and I'm having the same issue. Galaxy S3, Android 4.3 and MightyText 4.62. Any tips? Mobile Data is on but can't send group messages or MMS picture messages from the Chrome Web App. All I see if the little clock in the corner and that the message is pending. On the phone I have tried lots of things. Uninstall/Reinstall, Restart, unlink/link, clear cache and data. No dice. Any ideas appreciated.
Possible solution?
I'm on a Note 2, using Handcent and MightyText, and was having the same problem. The following seemed to help: in Handcent settings, I made Handcent my default program for MMS only (when it was default for both SMS and MMS, they didn't go through to MightyText). Hope this helps.
I also cannot send MMS/group message on the computer. I tried to install tweakker, but every time I run it, the app quits by itself... Any solution to this? I tried installing Handcent and making that the default for MMS, that did not help either.
I am running Kitkat on VZW HTC One.
I tried Hand (job) Cent but was not too impressed with the fact about when folks sent me MMS messages. It would want me download them.

It took me five minutes to figure out what all the settings mean and how they work. Maybe because I'm (23 years) old... too old for these tech gadgets. And MightyText still doesn't work for MMS/group message
I got mighty text working with MMS. You can't be on Wi-Fi at all with your device. It's slow, but it works when only on mobile data.

Doesn't work for me.
I installed Contacts+ and made it my default messaging app. Now MMS/group message works using MightyText.
MMS not sending MightyText/SGS4/Android 4.3
Hi
Did anyone come up with a solution to this as I'm hitting the same issue with my Samsung Galaxy S4 on Android 4.3? Everything else works really well - just cannot send MMS or Group messages (which I believe are sent as MMS too).
Have a support ticket open but ~2 weeks now and no reply.
Brian
I'm getting the messages on chrome telling me that its not connected and not working right. I have to keep resyncing them. Ahh it used to work so smooth.
Hello,
I am also running NOTE 3 and handcent with this issue. SMS works fine but MMS stopped working. it was all working fine on my Motorola RAZR HD XT925
going to test with other SMS tools and see what resulkts I get. Its a shame cause I really like handcent
Is there a way to sync my SMS with the tablet so I can go back and forth between the two?

I use tablet talk app. It works very well. It uses bluetooth to connect.

If you have Verizon, you can use the Verizon messaging app. It works great.

It should be noted that it also works over wifi. Guess it would save a bit of power if you don't need bluetooth for something else and do use the wifi.

MySms and MightyText
I use both MySms and MightyText. They both work the same way basically, both allow you to send text messages through your phone, either from a tablet or their respective websites. But there are a couple of differences.
I've been using MightyText to send text messages from my (or any, actually) computer for a while. It works well, but sometimes it takes a while for a message to appear in MightyText. And sometimes a message takes a long time to send or isn't successfully sent at all. I think this might be due to my phone (GNex) and its age. It's clearly visible when a message hasn't been sent, so it's not a huge deal. The MySms phone-app is also an actual SMS app. Using this instead of the stock sms app has the advantage that message-reads are synced across all devices. You can also message other MySms users for free. I don't use the app as my SMS app on my phone, because then LightFlow wouldn't be able to show me different colors for individual people,
The tablet app costs some money, which is why I checked out MightyText.
MightyText is free for both the phone and tablet app. It's very fast, it's almost always the first one to notify me on my PC. What I don't like about MightyText is that the web app doesn't automatically update when a new message arrives like you'd expect from a messaging app. Instead you have to click on the popup chrome notification, which opens up a new window/tab every time. So if you're having a conersation, you end up with many open windows of the same conversation.
The phone app is only an SMS receiver, you can't use it to send messages. But it forwads your phone's battery status and notifications about incoming calls to your other devices.
Hope that helps.
I turned off iMessage after the 10 was activated on my line. I can receive texts, but I can't send to either iPhones or Androids. I tried clearing my phone's cache to no avail. Any ideas?
I can't post links, but Apple has a online tool. Google "deregister imessage."
Just Google deregister imessage. Put your number in and you will be all set.

Hm, that doesn't seem to be the issue. iMessage says it was already de-registered but I still can't send messages.
Are your APN settings correct?
Have you tried having your carrier add the IMEI to your account?
Were you signed out of all your apple accounts before trying to send a message? (If you still have the iPhone, try putting your SIM back in, then turning off iMessage on the phone -- then send a normal text. Then put the SIM back in the 10 and try again...)
Turns out it's an issue with Textra now. I can use any other messaging app. Kinda disappointing as I prefer Textra.

If you mean sent, then yeah, to the same people and everything. I think textra just doens't have a way to recognise that the SMS's should be sending and it just assumes that since they weren't sending before, they shouldn't be sending now. It's possible a factory reset would fix the issue but otherwise I'm not sure.
If anyone has alternative SMS apps to mention, I'm all ears. Currently using Google Messenger.
Textra works fine for me. Maybe go into settings and manually configure apn.
I just got the Pixel XL yesterday and still figuring out all of the specifics. When I got the phone the default messaging (sms) app was set to Messenger. I sent a text using Messenger and the person's response came back on Hangouts. I went through all of the settings and made sure that Messenger is set to the default sms app, rebooted the phone, and no matter what I do the only way that I can receive texts is through hangouts. I don't mind hangouts but I wanted to try both and compare them. I am using Google Fi as my carrier, so maybe this has something to do with it? What are you guys using for your default sms app?
Edit: I figured it out. There was another settings buried deeper in the hangouts app that needed to be changed.
Purely out of curiosity though, which SMS app are you using?
Yaata SMS paid version.

Using the stock messaging app for now. Works fine. On the note I used vzw messages plus because I like the desktop app integration. I may go back to that, I dunno.
To Change
If you wan tot change, just go to either Messenger or Hangouts (they are practically identical) and go to Status and change the SMS App to the one you want. I use both, since I need the Hangouts Caller to dial up numbers on Wi-Fi. I don't do this often, but it is there if you signal is really bad. I am using Project Fi.

Same here. There are a few things I really can't understand why Android still aren't able to do, texting from a computer/tablet using native app is one of them

Stock for me at the moment.
Textra works fine for receiving and replying via notifications, but I was wondering if anyone was working on a Textra watch app or if it's even possible to get it so that conversations can be read from the watch on demand as if you were using the Samsung messages app. I like it too much to switch back to Samsung messages just to get this functionality. I've heard Pulse as a watch app, but I really don't like it nearly as much as Textra.

Sigh... A suggestion from 2 years ago with 10 votes doesn't give me much hope of this ever happening.
