Hello
I'm new here so they wouldn't allow me to post on the Dev section, anyways, I bought my Xperia S with Android GB in it and it has been with me for a while so i keep updating it. I installed the last software Sony has (JB .96) before i started flashing custom ROMs, however, i noticed that the WiFI stopped working in all the JB versions (.200, .211, .96) and when i did some research i found that Sony has activated its restriction program on some countries these are Sudan, Iran and Syria, as far as i know. me, i'm from Sudan, i figured that the the device shuts down the wifi ONLY when it detects the SIM card, as when i try to remove the SIM of turn on AirPlane mode (then restart the Device to start on AirPlane mode) the wifi works just fine.
when the wifi is locked, i can still turn it on, but the device starts to get very slow and it keeps searching for networks forever, and when i turn it of it take a loooong time to do so. installing custom ROMs did not fix this problem as most of the ROMs are based on the JB builds. i tried other solutions like trying to change the country code and so, but still, no luck. i might have tried lots of things here but frankly i'm not a developer, but i succeed to flash ROMs and Kernels by following your instruction, which u do very well on it .
I though that you guys did not encounter this issue before because you are not is a in a country that is under "US sanction" , but i'm sure you would have fixed this problem if you have heard of it
sorry for the loooong post hehe.
just one last thing, I LOOOOOVE what you guys are doing and i really do appreciate it, i WANT to donate but, there we (guys from Sudan)
can't create a PayPal account or so, again "US sanction".
oooooooooooookay i guess i'm not welcomed here

Can,t u just flash for example PureSlim KitKat rom? Im using it now, it's working 100% fine and much faster than JB or any modded JB. Im 100% there will not be any wifi restrictions here.

Hi There
I'm from Sudan too and I'm facing the same problem as @BMBcin I've tried Zillions of ROM's to solve the problem (I don't know about the restriction thing but putting the phone in flight mode didn't help either , my friend have Xperia Z and WiFi is working fine for him ) if someone come up with a solution please post it here

Hi everyone I'm new in this forum and I don't know anything about this smartphone world but I have some questions about my personal Xperia M. First of all I want to apologize for my bad english coz I hate web-traductors so I don't use them.
A friend told me I should install CM11 (Cyanogenmod If I remind correctly) in my smartphone coz it'd be better, I've tried to find some information in Google in my language coz I barely undertand the english technicisms for smartphones but I didn't fund anything so I decided to post in this forum.
I heard tha there is no official version for my smartphone and If I install an unofficial version this can broke my smartphone, is that true? Do you guys think that the CM11 is advisable for my Xperia? I want to know if It'll improve the performance.
How should I start If I want to install CM11 in my Xperia M? I'll let you some information:
Xperia M Android version 4.3
Xperia M C1905
Never rooted it (I dont how how to do it)
Greetings!

I am also a newbie to Android like you
Do you have a PC with you?
Then why don't you make root access on your phone?
About 75% of my installed apps requires root to get its full potential.
I am on XMD (2004).
otherwise I would help to root your phone.
there maybe many threads for rooting your handset (1905)
CM11 is one of the greatest option for the beginners i have ever seen!!!.Pros Are -

& its 'cons' ?
I have heard that many options will not work with CM as it is still on beta stage! is it right?
also if I couldn't lock my boot loader, I will loose my warranty also.

no problem with CM. cuz you can always lock BootLoader via flashtool and there are some minor bugs ( No problems to the user with these bugs)
Hi friends,
I'm Dinesh and new user of android. Don't have more experience with that. So I want to know some information from master like you.
1. How can I recognize my S4 Mini Duos is a genuine one or not ?
2. According to RAM manager my Ram size is 1.31GB, but it should be 1.5 GB. Isn't it ?
Inline images 1
3. My firmware is for KSA (Saudi Arabia) but I'm live in Sri Lanka. How ever KitKat still not released for any region except of Russia. Then if I download and install it on my device what will happen ?
What will happen to apps which are already installed ?
What will happen to contacts, logs, messages and etc. ?
Will I receive any update notification of that KitKat version on my device ?
Can I update via KIES or OTA in future ?
Can I go back for my fresh Android 4.2.2 which is still I have ?
What are the differnces between same version released for different regions (KSA, SER, SLK, INS etc.)
How can I change my region KSA to SLK ?
Inline images 2
4. What are the negative things have with kitkat?
Do you have any bad experience of kitkat for S4 mini Duos ?
Is it better than 4.2.2 ?
Somebody says Battery discharge is little bit fast in KitKat. Is that true ?
Please let me know about above mentioned things and also other special things you know about S4 mini DUOS and Firmware.
I hope you will reply me as soon as possible and I really appreciate it.
Thanks a lot.
Well first than anything i can tell you that your s4 mini is genuine.
Second ram memory in fact its 1.5 but always it is a little bit less if it is 1 gb will be 980 mb alsonif you buy a 16 gb pen drive it will have 14 gb instead son your 1.3 its ok i have it.
Third you can download the russia version im already using that on my s4 mini and its work very good you have to flash it with odin... (If you do youbwill have to flash the rom two times for better results) And dosent matter the region it will work.
About the negative expiriencies still dnt have nothing bad about kit kat. So try it.
Yes its better than 4.2.2 cuz its save more battery. Well you have yo unstall some samsung apps and google apps that will drain your battery after you update your phone to kit kat root it and start to delete apps but be careful.
Hope this info help you out another question? Cheers
:good:
Thanks mate.
now I try to install kitkat (Russia) version.
So what will happen my already installed apps, contacts, messages and etc ?
and I want to uninstall unnecessary samsung apps which are come with firmware. How can I do that ?
If something happen in wrong can I go back for Jelly Bean 4.2.2 which is already I have ?

I've installed russian kitkat firmware with odin, it works fine except for some unexplainable troubles:
I cannot change lock screen wallpaper, everything I choose it turn back to stock one (the one with blue sky and colored baloons):
Smart standby stopped working, even if switched on the small eye in notification area disappear after one second.
About battery management, I've noticed no real improvement.
Hello every body .. I 've been using badadroid , version ( cm 11 ) by volk ( modified by Gunter33.)
any how ,
I 've been using this rom for almost a week . every thing is cool except the lag of course ( an old endless problems for bada droid )
so to try to improve my rom . I tried Greenify with Donation package , and was WONDERING ( can I use the exposed version of this app ) >>> will it harm my phone/rom/storage ? ...
I hope this can be a small blog not only to talk about greenify on badadroid , but also to contribute as a badadroid users or maybe Developers can join too and give advises/tips/methods to improve this rom in general ....
my phone is Samsung Wave II GT-S8530 dual boat :
1- bada 2.0 Turko 10.2
2- android CyanogenMod 11 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2609560
God bless u all my brothers in waves :fingers-crossed:
And special thanks to volk204 , Gunter33 ,Rebellos,Oleg_k, mijoma, nbates66, anghelyi, mikegapinski, hunktb, autra, Tigrouzen and many others for such an awesome job :good:
Well what can i say , i didn't try Gunter33 version , but I know Omni 4.4 by volk204 isn't that laggy , actually it has a pretty solid performance
For Greenify / exposed : i tried that once , and believe isn't there much of a difference , exposed will keep running in the background consuming a part of the RAM , and it is needed to greenify some system apps
which you don't need to hibernate , or they just did make that feature to a complete stock android ROM (there is nothing worth putting in hibernation in Omni 4.4 )
Probably it is time for you to drop bada completely
check my guide , probably will help you :

nice guide I gave u 5 starts for the hard work ,,, :good:
about using omni ,, I have installed cm 11 a week ago , so it took me about 2 years to finally decide to have android on my device ! . and considering that android isnt official for waves, it's always a good idea to have a bada os to save ur A** when Android goes Crazy ,, plus when I put my sd card ,android wiped all my photos from camera section , so it isn't a reliable os any way ,,,
.... I asked about exposed version so i can hibernate whatsapp and imo , without stoping the notification ,,
....
omni does still have screen wake up lag , and low ram .. so not a big difference .

First rule back up , i wouldn't agree with you in last part , in my humble opinion the actual Omni 4.4 more reliable than Bada , you should give a try when you're ready

If you hibernate the apps , probably the auto sync and push up notification , will not always work

"screen wake up lag" works great with me , true there was a bug but it was fixed a long time ago .
"low ram" , if you mean the available free Ram , it isn't really of that importance , the 4.0.4 version was light on the system , but it had its bugs and the developers fixed them on the next release android 4.2 , if you want a free bug version ( latest bug fixes) consider installing the omni 4.4 , and if you want dual boot , the roms that support that has it own bugs
see this guide for dual boot by BenzoX ROM] [CM11] SD and NAND version of Badadroid v4.4
And thanks for the 5stars

It might help them more if you could specify what bug and how slow the performance at sony forum.

To me it is faster than KitKat (on my Sony T2) but I think it consume bigger space than KitKat.
Now I need to delete some apps since I only have 600 mb space left.
Lollipop has been working great on my T2. Perhaps a factory reset could fix problems.

Me too lollipop working great.. But contacts are little bit lagging..

How to downgrade?
Nope, Lolli just doing fine on my t2udual.
Just do clean install, factory reset, wipe all.
Then root, do partition ur xtrnal sd, then use link2sd apps to link the apps on internal to external(and little bit of vram)
Now, its much much much better... No Lag, have tons of apps, and very big space of internal storage (its around 3gb free internal memory)

Hope this will fix your issue.
I was also experiencing the same issue on my D5303 T2 Ultra. Very fast outside apps, but become very slow inside apps.
I've tried fresh firmware install, and didn't work, still slow.
What I did which apparently fix this issue is as follows :
1. Fresh install firmware using PCC repair mode
2. Install all off my apps... And then my device becoming very slow
3. Root using new Kingroot ver 4.1
4. Enable system purification in Kingroot
5. Change cpu governor from on demand to interactive using 3c toolbox or other app
6. Reboot to ensure
That's all, and in my case it fix the issue.
Try it, hope will fix yours.
