Help me fix my E980 GPS - LG Optimus G Pro

I've tried literally everything that I've been able to come across with searching.
As a last resort, I went back to stock, using the TOT file. I'm currently on Android 4.4.2, Software Version E98020h
I have root, but no other modifications have been attempted.
I have gone through all different types of gps.conf files with little or no difference.
GPS Test Plus shows around 10 - 15 satellites in use normally but sometimes this will drop to 0 and then build back up. the SNR of the satellites is usually 10 - 20 which I assume is signal strength. I can keep a lock for a couple minutes sometimes but then I lose signal and won't get it back until I open GPS Test.
I've been fighting this for a long time, any help would be wonderful.

I thought I'd bump this to see if anyone has any ideas.

GPS not working?

My Radio ROM is 1.46.30.11, I have try to upgrade the ROM to 1.50.08.11 but i have downgrade to 1.46.30.11
I am using TOMTOM and always showing No Valid GPS signal?
Can anyone help me thanks
how long are you waiting...are you outside?????????
I am in the house but I have put my phone next to the window, but still keep showing No valid GPS signal
What is going wrong, I have even recovery the phone and still the same
To get help - answer questions that people ask. How long are you waiting for?
What ROM version are you using? What GPS application? Have you done a soft reset? Sometimes 4-5 mins to get a sat fix - try going outside to get a fix.
out side is a must
for a 1st fix
Inside, the GPS signal levels are much lower then outside!
If I leave my P3600 inside with TomTom active, it may get a fix eventually, but it can take 10 or 15 minutes.
Outside, the signal levels are much better and I get a fix quickly in 1 to 2 minutes.
When I have a fix and go inside, I usually maintain the fix, although I loose some GPS satellites, but often 2 to 4 remain, which is enough to keep the fix.
So it's always better and faster to get the first fix outside.

[Q] GPS not working after manual OTA update to 2.2

HI all, I am new to android
Followed the excellent tutorials in this forum and upgraded to 2.2 using a file downloaded directly from a HTC link (sorry cant find right now)
Everything is superb but the gps cant get a fix. It has been a few days and I tried various things like restarts, remove battery, clear sky, leave google maps running for long, checked it is enabled in settings etc.
What to do?
What should be the correct version information after the 2.2 update? (in case i installed a beta/incomplete version)
Please help this new droid get back on its feet
I am sorry I have no solution, but I have the same issue. This has nothing to do with 2.2 I think, because it happened all of a sudden. At least it felt like it happened jus like that. I have been using 2.2 for a long time and used GPS. Only recently I noticed the issue.
from my post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7773080&postcount=9
It worked for me! I went to the roof as today is a bright day and used Tricorder app's Geo tab. Touched on it to show satellite.
It kept trying to connect to satellite. The tricorder app shows some satellites as green. Presumably as they are chosen to calculate location. It didn't finally lock-on till it was showing 12 satellites and 4 of them were green. I noticed that I had to remove the jelly cover and :
1. Stand still, she how many satellites it shows signals. In a few seconds it will stop detecting new ones.
2. It it hasn't locked on then move around a bit and change some orientation then step 2 again
3. Repeat above till it latches to atleast 4 green or 12 total signals (dont know which one works the 12 signals or 4 green)
and after that it easily updates even indoors for me.
I usually get a fix in the first minute, usually under 30 seconds. But this time no satellites were showing, not even after 15 minutes. I switched roms and it's working fine again.
I think I must have messed up something by reflashing multiple times. (I was trying to get the bios boot image to work, but sadly no avail )
I've just updated to voda standard 2.2 rom OTA this morning
1st thing I've noticed is the gps is a no go, no sats in view at all.
(using gps test the 'on button' only stays yellow too)
I've not 'messed' with my phone at all other than the standard updates
I must admit I've not tried a hard reset yet but I think that's going to be the last hopeful resort otherwise it's going back for a replacement

EB 13 - best GPS fix (without multiple Odins)?

Hi all, is there a mod or update that doesn't involve multiple odin'ing that will get EB13's GPS working faster and more reliably? I don't mind rooting, but I don't want to have to do multiple wipes and odins to get there. I'm on stock EB13, used the .exe tool to flash after formatting the SD card in DI18. GPSStatus has only managed to get 1 lock after standing outside on a clear night for 15 minutes or so (10 Satellites). It can usually find 7-8 Satellites, and can 'fix' 1 or 2, but usually just keeps spinning trying to get a lock.
Thanks.
Hmmmm. Curiously enough, an hour after I posted this I got a lock in about 30 seconds (with aGPS enabled). My suspicion is that the PRL update really helped, but that before I had been bit with what appears to be a bug where PRL updates don't stick after a reboot. I'll need to check this again...
i get locks every time within 4 seconds on eb13.

[Q] LG G3 GPS issue

Hello,
I'm just getting in the third week with my LG G3. Yesterday I tried the navigation (google maps) for the first time, and this was horrible! The phone took around 15-20 minutes to get a GPS fix. After I got a fix the navigation arrow randomly locks up and will bounce back and forth for 10-20 seconds and then shoots back to the correct position. I tried to reset my phone, no luck. I downloaded the GPS status Test and Fix app to see how many GPS locks I get. The most I seen was only 5 / 20+ satellites that were locked to my device.
I also experienced some random reboots, like 3 - 4 times the past 3 weeks.
Anyone have the same problems as I have?
Additional information:
- LG G3 32GB Version
- Location: the Netherlands
Thanks in advance!
-Mike
Ok, so I did plug out the battery and it seems to work now. However I have a question. I get 22 satellites in view, however my phone locks to only 12. On my old galaxy s3 I get 17 sattelites in view and locks to all 17. Should I worry about my LG G3 that is not locking to all the satellites that are in view?
I've only used mine once to find my boat ramp and it locked immediately after booting the phone (didn't realize it was off). Can't comment on # of satellites though.

No location after Android Oreo update

I've updated to Oreo a couple of days ago and I've noticed I can no longer get a GPS lock. AGPS data is downloaded and satellites are found and fixed, but resolving a location no longer happens.
I've also performed a factory reset and reflashed Android Oreo but the problem persists. Searching the web does not produce any results.
Any thoughts?
EDIT: FIXED. Seems like taking it out for a walk let it stretch its GPS legs and get a lock, after which it now runs perfectly. It's odd because I left it over 15 mins in the balcony where it got a GPS lock on as many as 5 satellites out of 25 but never acquired a location.
