Gear Manager No longer works after 5.1.1 update - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

So a wierd thing i have noticed is that Gear Manager for my Gear S no longer works with this version of lollipop. Im wondering if anyone elsse is having the same problem with the update used in the Dev forum? If so is there any known way to get this app back into config with the OS?

When on lollipop 5.0.2 I made a titanium zip backup of my files which has a working gear manager you install the zip in twrp recovery

Rom Manager

I would like to install and use rom manager on galaxy s3...had it on my evo3g and really like it....when i downloaded it from google store and installed...it says cwm must be installed for rom manger to work...then ask would you like to install most current version of cwm...that doesn't make any sence since i'm rooted using the newest method...and have cwn installed anyone have any ideas....thanks
You should really have created this post in the q and a section of the forum but, nevertheless the answer is that the clockworkmod we currently have is an unofficial port, at least to my knowledge and rom manager cannot verify it. Just install a rom the more manual way or just hold out until an official cwm is released for our device
edit n/m misread OP.
Rom Manager kinda sucks nowadays... The only thing that I use it for is to update CWM. I wouldn't trust it to flash a ROM...

new at rooting and flashing can't Mount data in twrp

I am trying to flash frostyjb to get rid of the bloatware but when I boot into twrp and tried to make a backup it said unable to mount data and it showed 0 mb free space
So far I have used the toolkit to root flash twrp, is there anything additional I need to do before I can flash it?
Same problem here, seemed to flash and backup fine when data is deselected, but I was just trying to flash some mods and it was killing the install. :/
Xquizit v3 and TWRP 2.3.1.1
Have you found a fix for this? I am having the exact same problem.
i have not found a solution yet, i was hoping someone with more experience in the field would help us for this situation
i haven't been able to play with the phone as i have a problem set on buffer overloading i need to finish before i get time to play with the phone (been an iphone user for past 5 years, very new to all these rooting and recovery stuff)
I was able to fix the mount issues with my phone…I already had root but had mount issues…. here is what I did …
I just downloaded GooManager from the market and let it install the new version of TWRP
I opened GooManager then selected Flash ROM’s
Received a popup asking if I had a compatible recovery I clicked “Find one for me”.
GooManager found a new version of TWRP (openrecovery-twrp-2.3.1.1- T0ltemo.imj) and installed it.
Then rebooted into Recovery and was able to do a backup with out and problems.
This is what worked for me I am not an expert so if you do try it it’s at your own risk.
Well I'll be damned that worked, even though it was the same TWRP version I had already installed.

wow thanks it worked, guess the twrp in toolkit was just an older version or something?

TWRP in the toolkit was for international Note II. Team Win just recently got the mount points and partition information for our phones and were able to make an official release for us.
Fixed it for me too - Bell Note 2. Thanks! Yeah, I was using the one in the toolkit as well and ran into this issue, installing from goomanager fixed it! Now I can safely MESS THE HELL UP out of my phablet!
Old post but ongoing issue as well for many...
For those experiencing this DATA 0 sum and unable to mount DATA on a rooted S7 Edge device if upgrading to Oreo.
I had this issue and solved it by re-installing CF-Auto Root from h*ttps://desktop.firmware.mobi/ without the asterisk*.
Simply follow the instructions to create the CF-Auto root files for your particular device and run it thru ODIN .
My DATA count reappeared after the ODIN was completed. Now I'm able to backup my ROM as well as the DATA.
Hope this helps a few souls on XDA.

[Q] Scrubbing TouchWiz

Has anybody made an attempt to identify what stock apps can be safely removed from the phone? I currently have 43 items frozen in TB and haven't had any problems yet. I do have TouchWiz frozen because I use ADW and it's working well. I'm sure that a zillion items could be removed but I'm not accomplished enough to go too deep into it.
Another question. When I installed ROM Manager and updated CWM Recovery, it went to version 6.XX. I used the Team Epic root zip and when I installed CWM Recovery, it was version 5.XX. Is this a problem and do I need to start over?

can't install a downloaded OTA update

Sorry for making this topic but I have a problem that make me really sad.
The problem is,
when I go to about device/update, there is an update (45mb or something) available. I can download it with no problems.
I can install it and the phone reboots. But now the problem occurs. He is installing the update but when it reach 25% it stops, an Android with a red cross appear and the phone go to the login screen (pin code). When I'm back on my home screen a pop up displays a text that I must try with KIES or go to a Samsung centre.
But I can't use KIES because it says that my device firmware isn't compatible.
I have rooted my Galaxy Note II N7100 in the past with the FRAMAROOT one click root app and has do the following (mod) things:
- Xpose multi window mod
- installed the Nexus camera with photosphere function. (no flash)(just placed the apk and the lib in the folders manually
- Lucky patcher
- place some galaxy s4 apk like storyalbum but never overwrite existing things in system/apps
- I have downloaded freedom but I have deleted it forced stopped it and deleted data
I have unistall the xpose mod with in app options + total clean up.
I chose the Unroot option in framework.
I never installed or flashed my phone in the past. So I have the stock rom
I'm very scared of flashing my device (with PC Software) because I really won't lose any of my data.
I just want to install that update without losing data. It make me feel very sad.
I CAN download the update but if I install it, it stops at 25%
please help.

Remove all system apps that weren't there by stock. Also replace overwritten ones (if any) with factory versions. Remove Nexus camera from system apps too. Xposed shouldn't affect anything. I have no idea what Lucky Patcher or Freedom is, so can't tell if it's them.
Thanks for your reply!
Must I also delete the lib files. for example when I installed S translate I must also copy some data to the lib folder to get it works properly.
If so I have a little problem because I won't remember with file is added and wich one is stock.
And I dit also the music mod (make phone loader)
I hope this will 100% work.
Thanks

@wada7o:
It this a save method?
I have heard that you must wipe data and I want to keep all my data.
And I have heard stories about broken boot loops. Sounds very bad.
And after all this, is there a way to get rid of all that odin and root stuff so I can receive new OTA updates in the future?

It's perfectly safe to flash firmware with Mobile Odin, done it multiple times. No need to wipe as long as you're going from stock rom to stock rom. Never had a bootloop myself!
And as for getting rid of root stuff, that'd include wiping your phone, sadly.
As said its 100% safe method no wipe required as long as keeping counter 0 and system normal using triangle away you will get ota update

okay, thanks to wada7o my update is finally installed, thanks
But now I have another annoying problem.
When I go to about device / update , I got an error with the text 'unable to update firmware due network or server error. Try again later or use KIES'
No I can't download the great jellybean 4.2 in the future.
How to fix this. The future jellybean update is very important for me.
And does the mobile odin thing works with this future update (Android 4.1.2 to Android 4.2.2)?

Isn't it easier just to flash new ROM with Odin?
If your device has been rooted, you can't update it via OTA or KIES. You can look for Dr.Ketan post. He got the newest updates for GNote 2.

sm-n9002

Hi, I rooted my SM-N9002 using the cfroot file in a recent post.
How do I go about adding Google Apps to my device? Realized after buying the phone that it didn't have any Google services. I booted into the stock recovery and tried to install the Google Apps zip file which I used for Cyanogenmod on my Note2 but that didn't work. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Same problem here, No market and no App store
Strange how samsung launch this model without it?
Has anyone been successful in flashing GApps on KitKat Note 3 Duos? Mine came with PS (probably the Russian SVA ROM), but I flashed the Chinese KitKat right away and can't get Play Store in any way now.
Get Open GApps Pico (no other will fit in size!) and flash it via recovery.
