I think that you can download customied firmware for UK market instead of (or France, Germany etc).

in which version there is "cost saving" in messages app?

I do think that such app is specific for carrier, not for a market in general.

What do you mean with "carrier"?

Carrier means your mobile service provider (Heyah, Play, T-Mobile etc.). And there is no such an option like u mention in Lolipop update.

Nordic Combined took forever on the z2 tablet as-well.. If there's any correlation then I'd estimate another 1-2 weeks.

And still no update. Why? Are they waiting for the fixed lollipop to avoid doubleupdate.

If I remember correcly, we got the kitkat update first. Now it's probably our (DK) time to wait.

Nordic
I'm in dk and Ii have downloaded and installed 5.0.2 for my z1 compact. Not the OTA update, but manually. It was very easy to do. 2-3 clicks or so. Don't remember wich site i got it from though. No noticeable bugs so far.

Have you even read the topic title?
To be clear: Froyo 2.2.1
Several sources claim to have it:

Most of them have KIES 2.0 or higher. It seems to be a phased roll-out again as not all people get the update notice.
Lets hope other regions gets the update as well

Kind of weird though that Samsung picks XEN again to "try" the new release. We're this tiny country that get their own CSC and what apparently is an early rollout .
whoop! another rom....
wish they would concerntrate on givin us 2.3! lol
wonder what bugs this one fixes/brings....
Do you know when its coming to Germany (DBT)?

but this is a tweet from SamFirmware

So you can flash WJS5 trough odin.
I have the newest version of Kies (2.0.0.11014_49).
My firmware version is JS3/JPY/JS3, the official dutch 2.2.1 update that was removed from Kies a few days after i installed it.
But i still get the message it can't be updated.
The FUS server still says the newest version is JP2 (froyo, cause 2.2.1 was removed).
Bit weird...
This is definitely a good sign, samsung pushing out updates for its current flagship model, then again 10+ million sales is good motivation for such.
However when S2 arrives and is publicly announced, i hope they dont forget about us 10 mill users. SGS is a powerful piece of hardware and im sure whatever they throw at the S2 our GS will be able to handle also.
Hats of to sammy for pushing out releases. Obviously they are working hard at fixing bugs
Do you know what happens if i flash another product code ROM? the only difference are the languages and swype?

[Q] 2.3.4 in Ireland/Sony Ericsson and meteor network

Hi,
Can anyone clear this up for me,I live in Ireland and still havent got the Xloud etc update and now the 2.3.4 update has come along and nothing.
I have called SE a couple of times but they said they have released it to everyone and is up to my phone provider which is Meteor,But I have a friend who works for meteor and said this is pure lies.
I have tried to connect to PC companion for update but says my phone is up to date but I have heard of people in Ireland with the Xloud update.
Just getting a bit frustrated here, Can anyone explain or help with this

+1 Unlocking my boot loader was the best thing I've done to my phone yet, gone are the days of having to sit around waiting.

AH id be terrified to do that as much as id love to, seems like everyone is happy when they do it but id be afraid it would be too complicated and I would mess up my phone.
Thanks a million though for your reply. didnt expect a reply that quick
Actually, a question for the OP. I can't get my meteor Arc to boot into fastboot mode (or whatever it's called...the mode with the blue LED on startup) which leads me to believe it's carrier locked. Do you find the same? I haven't got the 2.3.4 update either.
If my phone is carrier locked, is there any way to upgrade besides through my carrier? This could be a real noob question!

Flashtool, which is stated in the stickys. ;-)

Hmm...I had tried that already and when it didn't work I put it down to a carrier lock thing. On reflection though I had been doing this on a virtual machine which could have caused my problems.
Thanks, and apologies for the noob-ness!

Help with Ace2 Update to JB

Hello All,
Can you please help me with this?
I bought a Glaxy Ace 2 (GT-I8160) and noticed that it was running Android 2.3.6!!!
I checked for update via OTA and KIES and both showed none.
Is there any way to update it to JB while keeping both English and Arabic (Full Menu in Arabic not just character support) languages?
PDA: I8160JPLD6
Phone: I8160JPLD6
CSC: I8160OJPLD2
Phone is unlocked.
Thank you kindly in advance.

I tried but it showed no update. It says that my version of KIES does not support firmware update or something...
I guess I should try again.
Thanks for your reply.
I got mine two weeks ago. I live in Finland.

sorry for the very noobish question but i too hope to upgrade it as well
firmware/rom mean OS right?
so long story short i took it to a samsung customer service and they said i had to pay a service fee to get it upgraded (i had around 9 months left, i barely used it (heavy laptop user) and i havent touched the software) to which point i thought about upgrading it on my own
IF firmware/rom do mean OS, why are there so many different versions (excluding language; smoother, more stable ETC)? i see a few are around 500MB and the largest ive seen was 1.6BG. could you explain the differences? id honestly prefer a torrent since my internet connection is very unstable
do all packs contain english?

New firmware (10.5.A.0.233) certified for Xperia ZL

"Sony will shortly push out firmware build 10.5.A.0.233 to the older Xperia Z series including the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z. This new build follows on from the first Android 4.4.2 KitKat release (10.5.A.0.230) for these models and is likely to be a bug-fix release.
We already saw Sony’s workaround on the battery drain issues this morning, but hopefully the new update will go further to provide a more stable KitKat experience. We’ll let you know once the update starts to roll."

It did work to some extent, Google play services wasn't sucking my battery dry but a lot of the other issues remained mainly the random reboots which made me go back to 4.3
