Hi, you re welcome its a pleasur
yes you have to flash it with CWM or TWRP, reboot and flash gapps as usual,
the default recovery in kernel is the CM11 integreated CWM recovery
Thank you very much @Achotjan.
This is really a good news for our ion.
Will test and report.
@Achotjan finally u did some mercy upon poor xperia ion users ..u r damn awesome ...thanks..will flash and report in a while...
So I flashed it. Initial impression are very good. Will give a detailed review later.
And whoa!!! Total ram is 860mb. I mean I have never seen so much ram in ion. This is an awesome work.
@Achotjan thank you...this is good for our xperia ion
And also theirs xperia overlay rom for xperia ion - http://www.xperiaoverlay.com/xperia_ion_purchase.html
Thank you once again
I am damn impressed with this build. Really seems stable. Everything works. Animations are fine. Theme engine works. All good.
Now for few issues i faced till now
1. Uninstalling app from setting - check edit.
2. This is related to over clock. I don't like over clocking so I have kept Max freq to 1512 but even though CPU goes over 1512. Also phone gets warm on basic usage. I think this is related to over clocking.
EDIT - i figured it out that reboot while uninstalling is only for only cm11 theme while uninstalling all other apps works irrespective of where you uninstall from. So reboots only if you uninstall cm11 themes.
This is y i never wanna sell trade my ion...I guess I will keep it with me foreva...I am still tryna download the rom and in the middle i am getting connection error ..poor me??

Flashing steps
So I was on a custom rooted rom and the steps to flash this sweetheart is as follows: ( without using Flashtool )
1) Download the rom .zip file to your phone.
2) Extract the Boot.img file found in the zip you have downloaded and put it somewhere in your phone
3) Download and install Rashr which is a kernel flasher app on your phone
4)Open Rashr and Grant root permission when asked to.
5) In Rashr, Go for choose Kernel from storage option and choose the Boot.img file you have extracted from the rom .zip file and your device will reboot with the xperia overlay kernel.
6) When xperia overlay shows up press the volume down button multiple times to get in the CWM recovery already implemented in the xperia overlay kernel.
7) Wipe data factory reset
8) Wipe Cash partition
9) Install zip from sd card, choose the .zip rom file.
10) reboot and enjoy you new full of ram rom
note 1: in case you face error mounting sd card when trying to install the rom which is what happened to me, just go to the advanced otion in the recovery and choose fix permissions then reboot to recovery and everything will be allright.
note 2: according to what I just found out, you must follow these steps if you don't have a custom recovery installed.
in case you have CWM or TWRP recovery already installed then there is no need to flash the kernel, so you can skip steps 2-3-4-5-6

No need of following this in detail.
If you have custom recovery like twrp
Then just wipe data, cache, dalvik, system and flash the zip and reboot. That's it.

this depends on what kernel you are using, if you are on another kernel, you have to flash the xperia overlay kernel before you go on with the flashing steps, anyway the steps are meant for people who are not much familiar with flashing custom roms

No bro. Thats not needed. The kernel is in the zip and it flashes with the ROM. So you only need a working custom recovery.
Ya agree with new users. But sometimes it confuses people.
another step by step guide including a video to flash the rom using flashtool can be found on this link

ok I did not realize the kernel will be flashed with the rom, is this a general rule ? as sometimes I try to flash a custom rom and get stuck with the old kernel and I flash the new one later with flashtool to get the rom to work.

That's mostly with stock ROMs. They don't have kernel in it. You can check in any jb stock ROMs, you won't find any kernels in it.

The recovery is not only giving a blue screen, it doesn't even wipe or flash anything. It does absolutely nothing! On the 4pda forum there is a surmise that phones made in China work well with the new recovery, whether the phones manufactured in Vietnam get stuck on the blue screen.
Please, guys, confirm this! TIA

remove your battery and you'll see a sticker with "made in xxx by samsung" written on it. Some devices have only "made by samsung", which is still not clear to which country it belongs.
so far every one, who have a Vietnam-made phone, confirm to have a blue screen in recovery. This makes it very hard to flash the cm11. I've managed to do it via sideload function
Every other phone's owners (made in China or Korea) are happy to run a bugless cwm.
I installed recovery
I installed the ROM Jenkins

LTE does work, confirmed. There are a few mistakes in build.prop that should be corrected for ION. I will post those later. Overall, very impressed with the rom. Much faster and lighter than anything I have tried...

Here are some screenshots. The only lag I have so far is an about 0.5 second delay when you lock the phone with the hardware button and then unlock it. But when the phone is on a charger, there is no delay.
And by the way, I do have a locked bootloader.
There is one change that has to be made in build.prop:
debug.mdpcomp.maxlayer=0
For Xperia S, the value is 3, but for ION, it must be 0 or else you will have screen flickering issues...
Also, the name of the phone is LT28h. If you want to change it to LT28i, you will get an install error, because the install script makes sure that the phone is LT28h. To fix that, you have to remove a few get prop lines at the beginning. Your updater-script in meta-inf/com/google/android should start with the following line:
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p15", "/system");
Just delete all lines above it.
Don't tell me you bricked your phone making changes in build.prop and meta-inf. Learn how to do it with a proper text editor and unzipping app.
Flashed according to instructions, stuck on Sony boot screen...
Im gonna start from the beginning, fresh rogers lt28h jb firmware, root, cwm, and try again..report soon.
Ok, so I got it to boot. When I try to flash cwm, superuser denies access to shell! Crap.
Tried installing SuperSU,, still no cwm.. what shame, very sweet rom so far. The camcorder records and plays back smooth on 1080, but it flickers. I havent tested much yet, LTE works fine..
I didn't have any issues. I mounted System/Cache/Data and formatted each. Interestingly, the first boot took about 20 seconds. This is my first experience with Cyanogen and I must say, it is much faster and lighter than stock...
So what about cwm? I cant get it to install.. I dont want to have to start all over, I want to test this out.
Nevermind, Found it, its in developer options/root access/Apps and ADB. Cwm installed! Awesome.
No HDMI???

It wouldn't go to recovery, so I assumed it was not baked in. I then flashed cwm. I thought it was the only recovery for locked bootloader. Are you telling me there already was recovery?
I found a fix for the flickering, these need to be tweaked/added to the build prop. It worked for me...
debug.egl.hw=1
debug.composition.type=gpu
debug.mdpcomp.maxlayer=0
dev.pm.gpu_samplingrate=1

Yes. When you turn on the phone, the led lights blue. If you don't press power or volume button, then it goes to boot. If you do, you get to Recovery. That recovery won't see your CWM files, but you can back up and restore this rom and on.
I posted the mdpcomp fix a few posts earlier and since I made the changes to build.prop before flashing the first time, I don't have any flickering.
Edit: you have TWRP recovery which is touch based and you have access to SD0 and SD1.
If you install CWM, that will interfere with TWRP and vice/versa...
---------- Post added 6th January 2014 at 12:40 AM ---------- Previous post was 5th January 2014 at 11:59 PM ----------
Now, with regard to Chainfire SuperUser, when you install it (and you get a prompt for rights from the other SU) and it updates the binary, it should warn you that there is another superuser and offer you a chance to delete it, which you should do. After that, there should be no issues.
After using the rom for about 12 hours and a few deliberate reboots, I have 345 mb of ram with all my apps installed. On first screen I get 376, but then it goes down to 345 with all the apps. That is pretty good. The interface is faster than anything stock (including my rom). All my apps are also a lot faster. You just can't compete with a rom where anything bloat has been removed. And I am not talking only the apps, but also supporting framework and libfiles, which tend to do their dirty work even if the app itself is removed. Xposed framework works perfectly with Xprivacy, Greenify and Gravitybox. With Gravity, the only problem I have is that when I pick Kitkat battery icon, I get two: Cyanogen kitkat and Gravity. But that is minor.
I haven't noticed any bug and I am not surprised. Cyanogen guys produce stable roms even in nightly releases.
I think this is just the beginning. Pretty soon, we will have Paranoid Android and other roms available for locked bootloaders using the same method. I think we will end up having a custom kernel loaded (using hijacked script) and have 100% custom rom/kernel experience.
HDMI works great! Only bug so far is led notification just stays on instead of blinking, you can still change the color for calls, text, email etc...
This is without a doubt the fastest rom, it's like a new phone! Nothing seems to slow it down. Very impressive.

Agreed, this rom is fast and smooth. :good:

yep, ROM is prerooted, but supersu much better
Nice to see some development for the crackling.
Could you also provide a non-rooted version? Because my company MDM does not allow root-access.

FAQ:
1.) What to do if My Phone got bootloop or not booting ??
You have changed vendor, or modified vendor(not stock), OpenKirin vendor will never ever work,, so get Pure stock vendor of your device... it will work for sure... if still not, change you data filesystem...
2.) What to do if my SIMs are not working ??
Go to Extras, disable dual sim, reboot phone,, now read carefully,,
1. Install hex editor app from playstore
2. Make sure you have file explorer with root privileges
3. Open hex editor and find modem,id file on this location root/sys/firmware/devicetree/base/hisi,modem_id and open it.
4. Write down all numbers in first row
5. Then go to root/system/vendor and find phone.prop and open it with text editor.
6. Find your modem id by using search and type 0x3xxxxxx where X is your number from hex reader
7. Then make it look like this:
3.) What to do if my SafetyNet is not passed ??
Update Magisk to latest beta version, tick Magisk Hide and enable usb debugging...

I doubt it as upstream LTS is at 4.1.49 - on the other hand, the Cortex-A53-cores which are used in the Kirin 658 shouldn't be affected by the Vulnerability of Speculative Processors to Cache Timing Side-Channel Mechanism....

The kernel is EliteKernelReborn integrated in it... U can read its properties and features on Elite Kernel Reborn thread for P9 Lite....
thx
just wanted to know as you say that kernel is a must for the ROM so i wanted to be sure its in the ROM zip and not bricking, boot looping whatever)
what i forgot does this ROM have a custom music app/equalizer?
was looking for lineage maybe then saw your work here as the stock music player/sound quality is the worst i ever heard on a device, even with playstore equalizer the p10 lite out of the box stock sounds terrible music so i hoped for a good custom ROM to enjoy music )
Hi, is the fingersense feature still working?
I have a bootloop. I flashed stock before, using firmware finder. I changed data filesystem to ext4 but still bootloop.
