Tried Using:
2 PC's running Windows 8
Latest USB drivers.
Odin 3.10 (Elevated Privileges)
Couple of USB cables.
I have tried to flash both the CF Auto and TWRP to achieve root. I'm stumped. I think it could potentially be a Winblows 8 issue. Unfortunately all my machines are 8 or Linux. Ideas????? TY
I'm having the same issue as you. Tried everything like you did with no positive results. Very disappointing, I'm sure others have installed on Win 8 machines.
No one has any ideas?

I had same problem with my SM-G920T on Windows 8 pc.
What worked for me was:
Download Odin 3.10.6
Download latest Samsung drivers for pc
Restart PC after install
Run Odin as administrator (right click, Run as Administrator)
Used different USB port than the previous one
Genuine Samsung USB cable
It finally worked and did not hang at Nand Write.
After searching online, I suspect it was needing Odin 3.10.6 that did it

Hello, I've tried everything you have listed. It did not work for me, what did work for me was from the below post. Member The Pagel's suggestion worked fine for me. Weird, but finally got it to work from his post. Thanks for your reply.
Try this:<br />
1. Download twrp recovery and zip it with the installer script. Make sure it's named <b>recovery.img</b><br />
2. Install flashfire <br />
3. Flash twrp update zip with flashfire<br />
4. Hopefully boot into twrp!
<br />

Try to reinstall the drivers again. Try different USB ports and make sure your phone is in debug mode.

Drivers for Odin are not installd automatically unless someone put together a complete set. With USB debugging on connect to your computer. Go to Control panel>system>device manager and under USB go to Android Samsung. Hit update drivers through windows update and wait for it to find and install all 5 drivers. Takes over a half an hour.

Because Odin needs the drivers that are loaded with usb debugging on as I mentioned in my post to you. Dude, if you are not going to try what we suggest exactly as we suggest it why do you post asking for help? Not to mention there have been like 30 other threads exactly like this. If you don't have all 5 drivers loaded you will not connect to Odin.

Hmmm...it's possible it loaded the drivers previously and the extra needed drivers for Odin were already on your computer. Unless you loaded it from a driver package that had them all. If so a link to those drivers would be helpful to the OP since I don't think he has all the drivers needed.

Try This.
Sometimes, only 1 port will get the proper recognition...
As I odin'd to EG22 today. I had my old laptop not recognize my phone, after trying all ports, and checking each, uninstalling, reinstalling, scanning for plug and play devices in device manager with little luck. Anyway, I ended up using my dad's awesome Win 7 laptop, no issues, recognized immediately after installing the samsung drivers.
If another laptop/desktop is not an option for you, try different ports, also, have device manager open, go down to usb ports, and uninstall the 'unknown device' and just scan for plug and play.
Device Manager is found by typing it in on Vista or Seven. And on XP by going to Start-->Settings-->Control Panel-->System-->Select the Hardware Tab--> Click on the Device Manager Button. Enjoy and I hope I helped.
for some reason I only one USB port that i can use. The other 3 will not work at all. This is on a Dell laptop.

Yes. Whichever port you installed the drivers on is the one Odin works on. Does that on my Gateway as well.

Are you not able to boot directly into Fastboot to flash a recovery or other images?

You are using nexus, adb/fastboot is easier, faster and safer.

Thanks for you quick answer
I can't use the adb/fastboot

i don't think i have drivers problem because when i plug the mobile to the computer and select file to copy
the computer identifies easily the mobile.
Therefor i think i have no other way instead using odin

You do have a driver problem then: The driver to copy files to your computer is different than the driver needed to use fastboot, which is also different than the driver need to use adb. These are the drivers you should be using.
EDIT: In any case, here is an Odin repack for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1586807

Ok, then scroll to the bottom of the page I linked you to. and find the 1.3.1 Windows Suite.
It should come with a readme of some sort, but I wouldn't know.
I can however say that it works just fine for me and might be a good alternative if Odin is failing you.

It would be best to ask in the GNote2 Toolkit thread for our device.

Well, im gonna ask a few questions since you gave very limited info.
You are in Download mode correct?
You have verified the drivers installed correctly?
Are you using a USB 3.0 port? Ive seen that cause problems.
Are you using the stock cable?
Just a few things to help solve the issue.

Nope is not. Install cwm its easy and then root it.
Also having trouble with Odin/Tab3
I'm following instructions at theunlockr.com to root Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, using Odin307/TWRP_T31x_r3.tar
I installed Kies (for the drivers), enabled USB debugging, plugged in my device - no issue finding/installing drivers.
If I open Odin while the tablet is connected and at the home screen, I get a blue "0: [COM3]". When I reboot into Odin mode (power, vol down, home), I get nothing. I've tried all sorts of combinations of when I open Odin, connect the cord, and boot the device into Odin mode - no luck.
Any ideas?
Recently rooted/ROMed a GSIII also using Odin (different version) with no issues.

Yes, flash CWM (using ODIN); then flash the root.zip (using CWM) located at the bottom of the first post in the CWM thread.
Hi, I am studying android and custom roms...
I found the term, "one click flashing". (I am usually playing in AT&T android development forum. In particular, Ditto Note 3)
What means "one click flashing"?
Waiting for reply.
Thanks.
Have a good day.
The file is downloaded to the pc, is unzipped, and then ran in administrator mode. The phone is booted in download mode and connected to the pc. Then you click 'start' once, and the rom is installed.
What do you mean the file is ran in administrator mode? I assume you are talking about Odin? I am not familiar with Odin very much. I too am wanting to know this in reference to the DN3 rom.
Admin mode is windows 7
How is one click different than a normal flash with Odin? In one click do you still have to select the file into the PDA slot to flash a bootloader? On the Play store there is a mobile Odin. Can I use this to flash a bootloader? I don't have access to a PC so do it the traditional way through Odin is difficult for me.

You don't have to put anything into the PDA slot. The one click works, like your opening a zip file. Once it's open,, Odin would pop up on your PC... Then your phone is put into download mode,, connected to the PC. Hit start wait till it completes...

Okay, you make it sound so easy. I have yet to be able to get Odin to work. I have downloaded countless versions of Odin from xda and when I put the phone in download mode and flash a file in pda slot nothing happens, it says 0 ran, 0 failed. I have downloaded the file several times and still no go. When I use Odin it never shows my model number on the top of the program. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am trying to flash the bootloader to 4.3. Don't know if this matters but I used the heimdal method to root my phone on a Mac, but since no Odin on Mac, I have been using a pc for it.
