[Q] Remove Cyanogen and reinstall Virgin Mobile?? - Desire 816 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I really need help....please! I rooted my phone and had VM software. I also downloaded cyanogen. When VM put up update, it started to automatically install. Long story ...short. It does not appear my phone is still rooted. I am running Cyanogen. I cannot install TWRP because it says I am no longer rooted. I want to go back to VM software. I cant get my phone to be recognized by HTC Sync Manager so I can't reinstall VM software. I see the phone as a 710 with internal and external drives on my computer. I have tried to put image file back on my phone and tried to put the original VM software on the phone and NOTHING is working. I am stuck with Cyanogen which isnt working for me. Can anyone help me get my phone back to stock VM? I am desparate!

How did you get a VM update while on cyanogenmod? This makes no sense. If you need to, flash stock recovery, lock the bootlader, and flash a stock ruu

Your recovery version is pretty old, considering cwm 6.0.3.6 is the newest...
So is there anyway to fix this ?
Download ROM Manager from the PlayStore and let it install the latest CWM, or download GooManager and have it install TWRP.
So far as the computer, you'll need to be more specific about 'talk to'.
Might need drivers, might need a new cable, can't tell from what you said.
I think if he wiped already he wont be able to download from the play store, if im reading the OP correctly, you already wiped the device, you flashed the 4.2.2 or 4.2 and it aborted..correct?
Step 1. Okay here's what you can do since the PC isnt reading your phone, reboot or restart your pc put phone in odin/download mode and see if it reads it now. If it does Odin a stock rooted rom, then get goomanger from the play store and install open script recovery which will give you the twrp recovery, then you can attempt the flash again of the 4.2 based rom.
Step 2. If it still isnt reading after a pc restart load your old rom on an sd card and try to flash the old tw rom with that older cwm recovery and see if you can get back at least to a tw rom. If that doesnt work then pull the battery out your phone let it sit for 2min, put the battery back in and get into odin/download mode, and see if pc recognizes the device and connection, if it doesnt, download kies and it might help with the connection issue.
Did that help bro. Let me know?

Op stated the he made a full backup. Should be able to boot directly into recovery and restore the backup?
thanks for the info everyone . the operating system is gone so no luck on play store.
mrkevo3000 yes the roms got aborted half way its weird why it would do that.... my phone has always had issues.
just like that as i am typing this my phone is now recognized by odin so i will what you said load up stock and the reflash my backup and then update cwm.
I will try and update and againg to 4.2.2 and let you know what happens.
I have seen so many flavors any preference one somethiong that might work on i747m ?
ill update this after recovering my phone and attempting reflash.
Also for some reason my sd card is not recognized by cwm and it is only looking at internal again never did this to me before thats why i got stuck.
Last time i attempted a update for some reason my apn settings were locked and could not be changed.
I did the same stupid thing myself. Really can not believe I did it but i was rushing and didn't read what it was, thinking i was doing something else. Was not worried as I had my trusty nandriod backup -.- . I guess I can consider myself lucky as i took it to telus hoping they would buy my story and they sent it to the samsung repair center. Worried all week that if they checked it would be clear i had voided the warranty and i would be paying a high repair cost or buying a new phone. Well I got the phone back an hour ago and they fixed it.... no charge. I guess I can consider myself very lucky.

I would use odin 1.85 and odin a rooted stock 4.1.2 rom.. then go to the playstore and download goomanger and get the teamwin recovery, by hitting menu inside goomanger app, and installing the open script recovery which will install the teamwin recovery, you can flash any pure google rom with that recovery, before you do make a nandroid of your current setup and then flash away, get into a habit of doing at least one back and check the md5 hash of the roms before you flash away... download using your pc instead of phone browsers, sometimes mobile browsers corrupt the files.

New problem

I'm trying to instal Cyanomodgen, and have it working properly, thats my ultimate goal
I wiped my phone completely
I do CANNOT physically put my SD card to a computer atm, I'm trying to work around it
Odin does recognize my device, I can only install TWRP for some reason and not CWM with Odin ( program stops working with CWM and crashes ) I have tried different types of CWM, to no avail. I used to have it, then switched to TWRP for testing purposes
I would much rather use CWM, honestly. Any ideas why thats not working?
I am using ADB push filename.zip /sdcard/ for my cyanomodgen and when I go into my file manager I do not see my files anywhere at all, but when I go to wipe stuff, I can see there is 200mb in there( obviously its there but i cant see it )
There's a sideload.zip in there idk what that is
I've tried sideloading the cyanomodgen.zip and I get a radio error ( maybe its just the nightly file messed up, not sure )
I have tried installing CWM with heimdall, and I have to replace my phones drivers with theirs and it tells me it was successful but when I reboot I get stuck in firmware upgrade encountered an issue and the only way to fix that is to re-install the original drivers
I just tried heimdall again, failed, bout to reinstall TWRP and await further assistance.
Got CWM working, converted back to stock image and now I'm going to try this all over again, just keeping everyone updated
I fixed my phone completely, full updated and functioning properly except video not working on snapchat, other than that its perfect, i think the nightly build has something to do with my camera.
I'll leave this thread here in-case anyone has the same problem I can come back and help them.

[Q] Accidentally deleted a system font, need help to get my phone working again

So yesterday I was using the Font Installer app on my HTC One M8 (AT&T) and I was trying to delete a font I downloaded. But on accident, I deleted the Clockopia font and Robotto font (two system necessary fonts). So I thought it would be fine, but it wouldn't let me do anything on my phone so I reboooted it. It now will only start in recovery (TWRP) and bootloader. If I try to boot the system, it says I have no OS, and I get stuck on the boot screen. I have wiped the data, and tried everything I could think of. I can't find a way to fix this problem and the phone is not going to work unless I get something done. I am going to the store to buy a MicroSD card for the phone, in case that is a way to help. Please, any help would be appreciated! I am generally new to the rooting world, so this was a dumb mistake, but please help if you can. I have found threads similar to this but none helped because this phone is different so certain ways to fix this won't work. Again, please help if you can!
What ROM are you using? You can try dirty flashing that ROM again. If you're in ATT stock, just download the ruu and run that. It's going to wipe everything on your internal storage, so copy the things you want to a microsd card before you do
The problem is that I already wiped everything, but it says I have no OS anymore. Like I said, I am no pro with this stuff so I basically just have a phone sitting in recovery. I am currently trying to use ADB to load a file to the device but its a whole ROM (hoping that will help put the fonts back where they were) so I can flash it when it's on the phone. When I slide to start the adb sideload, it disconnects and won't pop up in the Device Monitor, but as soon as I stop the sideload I can see all of the files in my computer. So I'm not sure what I can do with this. Thank you for the reply, but I was on Android Revolution HD before I accidentally deleted the font. Now I'm trying to download it again!

Put the ROM onto your extSD, and flash it in recovery. Your phone will work again.
Hey guys thanks again for the help, I fixed it all with the flashing of a ROM again and I'm now posting this with my phone! You guys helped really quick, I appreciate it!

Tring to reload stock rom

I have windows 8.1 on my laptop. I have downloaded lgpcsuite,lg flashtool, and several other files needed to do the kdz or tot thing while using these programs to reload or flash it to the phone. I see the phone in win explorer, it says lg e980. I can move a file to the phone or from the phone. The programs do not see the phone or nor does device manager it says no drivers loaded for this device. I have read till I can't think. I can not find the driver for the lg e980 or somehow cannot git it to install. As well as getting ADB installed. I never remember Messing around with my lg g2x ever being this hard to figure out nor any other android or apple phone. I must be going nuts. I was able to root the phone and saposably installed CWM but cannot boot into it. The phone just restarts. The phone works fine except for not being able to access the ext sd card after rooting or installing CWM witch I cannot boot into. So that is why I just want to put it back if possible. Is this phone this much trouble to work with or am I missing something obviously? Sorry for going nuts here.
Any help that would be nice.
All is good now.

HTC M9 Help! No fastboot. Have had it rooted for a while

Hi! I have been reading some write ups, but im not sure what to do.
I have a M9 Sprint version that has been unlocked for a while now, like a year, I downloaded an app this morning to delete sprint junk apps and deleted them. Well the app failed and when i reset the phone, the sprint apps just reinstalled. Shortly after, on my drive to work, I felt my phone vibrating, and noticed it was stuck in a reset loop.
I tried loading in fastboot, to re lock boot loaded and attempt to go back to stock image. I used TWRP to root it, and i have formatted my computer since then and dont have any of the associated files, including any backups.
My goal at this point is to return to a working phone, oem image or not, i really dont care. What do I need to do?
I downloaded the adb/fastboot tool to my pc, but no devices are being found, and fastboot is not an option when i go to the boot loader.
THANKS!

There is a dedicated thread for sprint versions, you would have better luck posting in there, but check out this thread.

You might want to use an ruu via SD card method.
Rogue apps.. A perfect example of why rooted phones aren't for laymen.
As long as you have download mode and the original cable the fastboot issue will be driver related. You might have to force the physical address into the drivers. Google that!. It's about a 6 on the pc illiteracy skill scale (piss, for short, thats what it makes you scream at the screen).
Beamed in by telepathy.
