Hi,
I am trying to flash stock recovery on my phone. I am trying the following command,
"fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
I am getting the following error:
"download for partition 'recovery' is not allowed"
What can be the possible reason? Thanks in advance... :

Hello,
I have just flashed Alpharev CM7hboot r2. After it was successfully flashed, I booted into the recovery and found that my recovey "4EXT Recovery" doesn't start. I just get "Preparing boot..." message only. Is there anyway to reinstall 4EXT Recovery with fastboot, if so please explain. If not, please explain any fix.
Get into fastboot and type:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Place the recovery image in the same folder as the fastboot.exe first.
From where do I get the recovery.img?
4EXT has only PGI99.zip file
Check the zip file the .img file should be there if I am not mistaken
Yes, but when I try to flash I get an error.
And now when I try to reflash the hboot I get that error. Any ideas?
Running fastboot command - PLEASE WAIT.
###Calling fastboot with: flash hboot bravo_alphaspl-cm7r2.img###
sending 'hboot' (512 KB)... FAILED (status malformed (1 bytes))
Why are you reflashing the hboot?

Try "fastboot devices" from your console, to check if your phone is properly connected to the PC and drivers are working ok.
i think i've ****ed up my zenfone 2.
i can only go to fastboot and i can flash boot.img , droidboot.img and recovery.img
but i can't flash system.img (it says error: cannot load 'system.img') and everytime i try to go to recovery , it just freeze on asus logo and that's it.
i can't flash asus zip file (from asus site) because the size of the file is too large and i receive error.
i was using a custom rom and decided to return to stock.
how can i fix my phone?
Your system.img is corrupted somehow, if you are using shakalaca's img just delete the current one in your folder and unzip like you did before, that worked for me after the same thing happened to me while flashing.
okay.i have some good news (for myself )
i can now get into Recovery mode.it's stock recovery with and android robot in it and saying "installing System Update"
but after a few seconds it says error and that's it.
i use "adb devices" but there's no device connected.same for "fastboot devices"
now what should i do?
p.s : i get error everytime i want to "fastboot flash system system.img" and everytime i use "fastboot -w".for flashing system it gives the "error: cannot load 'system.img'" and for -w it says "FAILED (remote: flash_cmds error! )"
edit: now i have TWRP recovery.it's the UN-Tethered one.so i don't think i can install stock rom.right?
what should i do if i want to install stock rom?
edit 2:finally.i installed a custom rom for now.everything is ok.the phone is up and running.
but now i want to return to stock rom.how?
Today i tried to install custom rom on my realme 3 pro and i was successful in doing it, later decided to revert back to stock Realme UI so i downloaded the Ozip from official site of realme, flashed it using twrp and rebooted......
Device is not booting to the system instead it is booting back to Fastboot mode and i even tried booting to recovery from fastboot and it is coming back to fastboot mode..
tried flashing recovery image from fastboot and it is throwing error
./fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Sending 'recovery' (65536 KB) OKAY [ 1.424s]
Writing 'recovery' FAILED (remote: 'unknown command')
fastboot: error: Command failed
what ever command i try to pass, i am getting the same error...
HELP NEED ASAP please...
Hello, I've been trying to install TWRP on my 5z (ZS620KL).
Whenever I try to use the "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img", I get the output:
Sending 'recovery' (25244 KB) OKAY [ 0.596s]
Writing 'recovery' FAILED (remote: '(recovery_b) No such partition')
I tried switching to the other partition using:
"fastboot --set-active=a" and "fastboot --set-active=b"
But it lead to no change whatsoever.
I'll be very thankful for any suggestions
Can provide any additional info, if needed
fastboot flash boot boot.img is the command you are looking for
Obviously you need you download the boot image and twrp zip for the version you are looking to install

Hello. After doing the wipe of System, Data , Cache and Davlik..., I tried to install another PixelExperience ROM and it has given me an error of format as soon as start the installation on the TWRP and when the tablet restarting again at FastBoot I try to enter in TWRP again but give me the following error.
C:\ADB>fastboot boot twrp.img
creating boot image...
creating boot image - 16893952 bytes
Sending 'boot.img' (16498 KB) OKAY [ 0.419s]
Booting FAILED (remote: 'image verification failed')
fastboot: error: Command failed
So I can not enter the TWRP to install another ROM and the previous one does not boot, so when the tablet boot in normal mode, return again to wait for a FastBoot command.
Can you please help me?. I do not know what else to do
Thank you
Nobody can helpme with this error please?
