[Q] Phone no Service After Screen replacement - Desire 816 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

desire 816
4.4.2
sense 6.0
I have changed out the front panel assembly which includes the ldc screen and the digitizer. after i booted up and programmed the phone i do nbot have service unless i am in an area that has LTE coverage. the CDMA covered areas i am not picking up a signal and if i do it is very weak. most times though i register as no service if there is no LTE coverage.
Can someone pls help. i feel i have something not getting a good connection inside that is preventing me from getting the CDMA signal.
Thanks

[Q] Work on AT&T without much trouble?

Thinking of buying this phone on ebay (unlocked) to use with StraightTalk AT&T bands, I know it's possible but will I have to send the phone off somewhere to get the radio re-flashed? Several of the phones on ebay come unlocked.
Also I live on the edge of the network and I am using an Infuse 4g and get extremely flaky reception with BOTH the network and WIFI, compared to an old motorola phone, anyone report any problems with signal or WIFI antennae strength?

If it comes unlocked from ebay it doesn't have to be shipped anywhere additional. It's already unlocked and ready for any GSM sim. As for the Infuse 4G, I couldn't answer. If the service area is ****ty it's gonna be ****ty.
Thanks Muff, I do live in a pretty ****ty service area, I may just end up sticking with a Motorola phone. Maybe I'm crazy but my previous Moto phone's have always had superior reception to other branded phone's I've seen. My infuse's WIFI get's 1 bar 20ft away where as my droid 1 had full bars, and although I cannot really compare the 2 phones on network, my buddies iPhone(at&t) can still get calls throughout my house where as I constantly lose signal mid-call. I just wish Moto wasn't so stingy with their bootloaders.

[Q] antenna repair

Hi all. I will try to explain this the best I can. But I have a sgh-i747m with telus. Same build as at&t. But at work it fell out of my pocket and got run over by my fork lift. Because of the case it was mostly not harmed. But my signal is very lacking now. I have to be outside to get any signal. I still can get 3g and lte but I would like to get the signal I use to get. Is anyone aware of a antenna repair guide or a good place to buy one.

verizon lg g3 with no 4g

my buddy has a verizon lg g3 that wont connect to a 4g signal at all. phone was dropped in a cooler for reasons im not going to get into both indicator stickers went red. after drying the phone out for a few days it seems to work fine. screen, apps everything except 4g. it boots directly to 3g. even under the setting menu when you check signal strength, 4g isnt even listed on the screen as an option. please help if possible before we do an insurance claim.

The phone uses the sim card to get 4g, perhaps the sim was permanently damaged or it needs to be reseated.

LTE and 4G (ATT H810) issues

Anyone else on the ATT G4 having problems with LTE connectivity? In areas where I'd usually get 5 bars of LTE service, a majority of the time I get 2 or 3 bars of Edge service. Putting it into airplane mode and back out doesn't help, turning mobile data on and off doesn't help, and neither does removing the SIM card (and reseting the phone in the process). It seems to come and go whenever it wants to.

All I can guess is, it's probably just the ATT network itself. They did some upgrades around here a while once Cspire started hyping their fiber optic network and I noticed on my older phone that in areas where I used to get 3G I was stuck getting edge. Even with my G4 I can park in perfect view of a known ATT tower and it'll hit 4G and within a minute be down to 3G - same with strength. Get 5 bars, don't move, no data, no call, and it'll drop down to no bars but still connected and bounce around, usually settling at 2 or 3. Even though ATT says they have full LTE out here I rarely actually see the LTE logo display in the status bar.
I've been using OpenSignal to try to map out coverage areas though, been pretty handy in finding towers and chasing stronger signal

UMTS antenna: where is located

I just swapped my note LCD assembly because I cracked original, and since than I have very weak UMTS signal.
By tearing it down again and reassembling (many times) I managed to make it work again but it lasted only a day and now signal is weak again.
GSM signal is ok (guessing GSM radio use another antenna, or path) but UMTS is so week that it struggle to register to network.
Anyone know where is UMTS antenna on this N7100?
