If, without going to bootloader, it's stuck in Google logo, then EMMC is dead/corrupted. This can only be fixed by replacing the motherboard - very simple task even with no special tools. But considering the tablet's screen is faulty too (flickering), I wouldn't bother - this is the end. All you can salvage from the device is a USB charging port that you can sell on ebay for around $40.

[Q] HTC Desire - bit complicated problem!!

I have this HTC Desire phone, which has a kind of history. The entire phone is actually a mix and match of various parts of other HTC Desire phones which were faulty or broken etc. So the working parts were put together and lo behold, a phone!! Apparently, it was working for sometime, but now, it is in a continuous HTC logo screen loop.
Now, this phone has found me by some cruel ways of the nature and I would love to put some life back in it. I am giving you these info, so the best minds that may be can advice me what i can do with it (except of course send it down the drain).
- the phone charges up and is stuck on the HTC logo screen
- it goes off, comes back again with vibration onto the logo screen
- i am unable to get into the hard reset option (vol down + power). because, everytime i do that, only the htc logo screen appears.
- i do not know whether s-off is activated or not
- i do know that it had only the official android on it and was not rooted or modified.
- i do not know if it is unlocked or locked to any network
What i like to do is this - put in one of the custom ROM via PC and make it work again. If anyone feels it is not a complicated situation, please tell me what i need to do. I would sincerely and greatly appreciate this.
thanks

[Q] Galaxy Nexus wont Fastboot

Hi all.
I have a seemingly unique problem with my nexus, one day it got stuck in the boot logo. I gave the phone to a friend to fix, he used the galaxy nexus tool kit and halfway through solving the problem the phone crashed and now wont boot. At all. I am locked out of fastboot nothing at all is displayed on the screen, the tool kit wont detect the handset. There is no response when I push any of the buttons. I tried opening the phone and shorted out the power button. the only response I get from the phone it when I plug it in to windows 8 it get the sound on my pc to know it found hardware, then immediately followed by the disconnecting sound, and a little notification flashes from the system tray, If I am fast enough I can click on it and I get this message:
(I cant post a link as this is a new account) i.imgur.com/fmkE9Ki.png
I found on another thread that someone had a similar problem, they fixed it by getting a new battery, I did this and it still didn't work. i checked with a multimeter and they're both fine anyway. I am about to use my last resort and send it in to a paid service. Is there anything else i can try? or do you think a repair shop would have a better chance?
Thanks in advance for your time.
You're internal memory might be fried, happened to my first GN, was downloading something via a torrent app and all of a sudden the screen went black, had to pull battery and restart, first time it nearly got through the boot sequence but then froze up again, pull battery again to reboot but the second time it just started with major graphic errors and did not leave to Google logo screen.. Had to be replaced, good thing was that there was no way for service center to tell it was rooted ;P

Have you tried omap flash?

HTC One X with black screen but working charging LED, Softbuttons and MTP Access

Hi everyone,
first off, I've spend days now trying to find a fix. If I've missed anything, I'm sorry, it wasn't for lack of trying.
Here's the situation: I have acquired an HTC One X earlier this year which has worked quite flawlessly. I went ahead and unlocked the bootloader and installed a custom recovery. However, since I handed the phone off to my not-so-techy sister I did not use a custom ROM, and after the HTC update failed with the custom recovery I reversed that as well. The device should now be stock everything with unlocked bootloader.
After a few months my sister encountered heavy problems, though. She described them as battery related (wouldn't turn on correctly) and eventually she moved to a new phone. Now I have gotten the device back and I am trying to fix it. After charging it I managed to have it boot once. However, I but it to the side and wanted it to load some more. Ever since then the screen doesn't come on. The charging LED seems to work fine (eventually switched from red to green, too, indicating that the device is fully charged) and the button backlight still works, too. Most significantly though, the device is recognized as MTP device in Windows: I can access all the data in the storage without problems.
I have read that there is an issue with the HTC One X and the display connector so eventually I went ahead and took the device apart. It's lying in front of me now in pieces, but I still couldn't get the screen to come alive. The obvious conclusion would be to buy a new screen but the device doesn't feel like it's worth the investment. Besides, I would like to know for sure that it's the screen before I do anything.
So I turn to you guys and ask if you have any idea how I could access the phone via my computer. I tried to boot it up in bootloader mode but due to the strange standby methods HTC is using and not seeing anything on the screen I haven't been able to do that yet: Whenever I connect my USB cable it's recognized as MTP device, not ADB. Debugging seems to be deactivated so that doesn't seem to be an option. Does anyone have any idea how I could get the phone to talk to my computer (i.e. get into the bootloader or ADB screencast for sure)? With my Galaxy S I could simply plug in this dummy micro USB and would be sure to end up in download mode.
Any help is appreciated!
tl;dr: HTC One X screen is dead but LEDs work, is recognized as MTP device. How to make it talk to the computer?
Thanks,
rien
Alright, sometimes just posting stuff like this helps already. I was now finally able to get the phone into fastboot (apparently) and it's reacting to the fastboot commands. I suppose the next step is to load CWM and connect via adb. This way I can at least do a factory reset.
Does anyone have any ideas regarding the original issue with the screen? Especially since it does seem to work occasionally. And doesn't show any fragments...
Can I enable USB debug mode from within the recovery to work in the system?

asus nexus 7 hard brick

Hello all,
I bought my asus nexus 7 (second edition) in 2014. i had no issues until recently. whenever i press the power button to turn it on the google logo comes on and then it goes black. I took it to a tablet repair place and the guy could not fix it. He said its "hard bricked." he said he was able to get to the bootloader page and unroot it ??? but he could not fix the issue of it timing out and turning off.
I was wondering if anyone has come across this issue and can my nexus 7 be saved/salvaged. As i told him i do not not care if its factory resetted.
He told me to post in a forum as it was developer issue and maybe a developer can fix it.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. I have only used this tablet for travel. so its virtually brand new. I would prefer not to waste money on another one.

Hi, connect external power and start again. OK?
yes - replace the battery
no - read on...Do Fastboot Diagnostics. OK?
yes - flash factory image
no - check "Repair Options"

MT8312 boot on charging up ?

Hello guys, this is my first post on this forum so i hope i don't post where i shouldnt.
So i was trying to integrate an android tablet onto my car so i can see everything that happens to my car real time with an OBD2 bluetooth diagnostic. The problem is im trying to integrate it so no buttons of the tablet are accesible. I got my hands on a cheap Vodafone Smart Tab 3G and i was searching ways to turn it on once it gets power. I managed (with the help of my dad, THANKS DAD !!!) to make a fake battery (a charger that connects back to the tablet and simulates a real battery). Now, all i have to do is make the tablet turn on once it gets power. On samsung devices if u hold down the power button it starts normally but on this device it just freezes at Powered by Android logo, so i dug up a little bit more and i managed to root it. I tryied then the ipod file modification. I tryied even to delete it and replace with the reboot file, still nothing. The charging animation dosnt show but it wont boot up either. Then i found out about bootloader oem on-charge 0 (or something like that, i cant remember, being searching for like 2 or 3 days) but the tablet dont support that either. Now im stuck with this. Tryied to find some custom roms to flash on my device but found nothing in particular.
So, any ideea how could i achieve this ?
