Hey all If you have ever used any of my ROMs you will notice i always mention apk optimizations (or some other fancy jargon). Now many of you claim it legit works and i agree, optimizing those apks make the whole ROM smoother, smaller and snappier, but i have only limited that to those ROM's, so now im taking the next step forward, user requested optimizations!
How its gonna flow:
- You gonna attach/direct link (no google play) an .apk in a reply to this thread (and no warez)
- Im gonna optimize yo .apk and link it in post 2 and ill notify you with a reply when its done.
- You gonna download it and b like "wow, much smooth, such fast"
APK Compression??
Its the process of reducing the size of all the images within the apk's without loosing quality.
Now you may ask; "Well how does reducing the size of an .apk improve its fluidity?" and i will reply; "Reducing the apk size requires less processing of the flash disk and it takes up less space in ram and it also means less pixels for you gpu to render = snappier application and device"
Notices
Check the 2nd post for downloads and an index
Im looking for someone who can design a banner for this thread and a banner for signatures thanks!
Thanks alot to @luca020400 ! Without his help i would have to manually optimize each apk by hand, but recently he has produced a nice linux bash script that automates everything,
-THREAD TO BE CLOSED-
y? - i will fix the issues with the apks and restart the project later, i also want to clean up the thread. thanks!

Lol, we didn't use SM at point we got official support. Actually we couldn't even use it since CM's jenkins builds only with Google's GCC.
We used SM for unofficial builds but luca decided to remove it (before u told him to do it).

I was thinking to install this one when I saw it in the repository posted in GENERAL threads, but there is a lack of information (don't realy know if we are talking about same ROM, probably the other it's a port from NEXUS 4)
This will be for sure the next ROM that I will test, can someone tell me if calls over BT (namely car hands free kit) are working? The last ROM's that I've tested this was not working (no sound).
So happy!

Just finished compiling Carbon ROM for LG-G2 phone. I have a Tmobile version of G2 phone which is D801. If you want to check the ROM for Tmobile version then it's here This ROM is for International version which is D802. So I was unable to test this ROM on my phone. Please make a backup and check if it works for you.
I rooted my phone and installed TWRP by following the guides on LG-G2 forum.
Download : (no assert check) CARBON-JB-UNOFFICIAL-20131207-2142-d802.zip - 164.26 MB [Please use the zip for International-D802 ]
I will update this thread with more details if needed.
About Carbon
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.
Features
Simply stated, we can't really list features here. There are too many and they change too frequently, and we now support a truly insane number of devices. Chances are, if you like a feature, we have it already. Seriously.

All Carbon downloads and further information such as features, changelog, and FAQ can be found on our goo.im page.
Both nightly and release builds are available. Please note that nightlies are for development purposes. Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our goo.im page linked above. It's new, but expanding fast. Just like us!
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our G+ Community: http://community.carbon-rom.com This is where we spend the bulk of our time and the best way to reach us and other community members. We update and frequent this community far more than XDA, simply due to time constraints and the convenience of G+.
5) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

Mostly when carbon 4.4 nightlies for other devices are out. I personally feel that 4.3 with all the carbon features is much better than 4.4 without any good features.
From what I know 4.4.1 source isn't merged into 4.4 branch of Carbon ROM.
Though right now I am copying LG-G2 device tree and kernel to the 4.4 Carbon sources. If it builds fine and seems stable enough then I might post it here. Hope that answers your question.

OK thanks for the reply will keep checking
Could you possibly setup an email list to send us an update when the download links are back up and running?
Also, if you need any help, let me know. I've been a web developer for years . I also have a co located webserver if you happen to need a good mirror or web space!

WARNING: this is untested and i can not test it i am not held responsible for anything that happens to your device when flashing this.
Okay ive had allot more time for developing but i didn't want to do kernels i was gonna make a pure AOSP 5.0 lollipop build based on CM12/AOSP and i was slowly gonna make it more and more stock pure AOSP. But when i woke up and it was done building my Verizon HTC One decided to die on me so here's the first/untested build. Never tested straight from being built now this is mostly just plain CM12 i will be posting a new build with stock settings and more CM12 features removed.
I was slowly gonna merge this with pure AOSP and just use Cyanogenmod device tree/CM hardware components
If i get testers i will update this with more of a AOSP experience but if i don't get enough testers i will have to stop support until or if i can get my hands on a new VZW HTC One.
All the credit goes to Cyanogenmod team for there awesome work!

What's the point if you aren't going to test or fix issues? We already have a thread that is doing much more than this.

I said if people test i will fix and update the ROM and i am trying to get a new HTC One to test on.
Thank you for this. CM is a little careless on their merging of commits. I will test tonight and report back.

If you're changing source code then you should be maintaining your own git instead of just linking to CM. Especially considering you don't have an m7 to test with.

It booted up fine. Call worked sms worked camera worked. That's all I got. Seemed nice and smooth but had to switch back to old rom because I'm on call and need something I know works for the night. I think your build is good I'm just a little paranoid about staying on something that I haven't used a lot. I will use it more later in the week and report back.

And you can say thanks when i actually do more to it i don't deserve that yet as its mostly cms work at the moment.
Seems to be working fine, though the front facing camera acts weird... Looks like a CM12 issue though as I tried santod's port too and it did the same thing.
Great job
Ive been using this since shortly after you released it, it appears to work fine. I even have the face unlock feature active and it works flawless.
dude, battery life on this is stellar. it blows cm12 out of the water. i use to hemorrhage battery at 8.1% per hour, with this i actually get deep sleep and dropped to about 2.6%
Good job on the build. Much better than i expected.
Everything seems to be working great, except Bluetooth. I can connect to my speaker and headphones fine, but when you play Pandora, it just keeps skipping to the next song and never plays. Google Music is wonky too. Many thanks for working on this ROM!
I'm having issues with the touch screen becoming unresponsive at times. Only way out is a hard reboot.

Work Arounds:

Totally bonkers but I got it working. Hidden menu over phone (*#*#3646#*#* for those using search before posting for hours like me lol), set to default at LTE/CDMA and power cycled a few times. Making sure to keep persevering and changing it because it likes to default on LTE/GSM/CDMA/WCDMA and that's just not working. I also changed radio band to United States but I don't know if that was all that necessary, but its worth noting. Now its working and I even got VoLTE/AdvCall, the works.
Time to rock me some serious Hello Kitty Adventure Island time.

Oh, update on this. Setting it to United States at least for me is mandatory. If the radio band is on Automatic it will not work no matter which setting its on. The default of LTE/CDMA/UMTS (prl) does not work under any band. LTE/CDMA and Global do however.

Glad it is working for you. A quicker way to access the hidden menu is data usage->three dots at the upper right> then preferred network type. But again glad it's working

@tabp0le is one of the main reasons this rom became possible, software wise, as for hardware wise that would be @thewalkingdude and @buckmarble...........
If you seen his name in the screen shot, then obvious hes mentioned ... also if you look at the front page it says UNDER CONSTRUCTION..
there are many people to thanks.. I just havent gotten there.. would you rather me spend the next 10 days thanking people off the rip, or release a rom so that people can
have something new for a change ?
Also @tabp0le is in chat with me 24/7 on Slack group.. I talk to him everyday.. and he knows I am using his kernel for the building inline..
My kernel isnt setup for inline building yet..............
But yes, thank you for pointing that out to me.. When I get the time. I will finish the OP or have one my other members do it for me...............

If that's the way you deal with people I'll pass on this one, which I'm sure you couldn't care about either way.

Fair enough and good luck.
Thread is Under Construction:
All mentions and features and instructions will be posted,
at the soonest time allowed.
I posted this thread at 12am, Was extremely tired.
Nobody will be left out.
@aclegg2011 and I spend the last 2 days trying to squash the sound and video bug that we were presented with..
Sound was fixed by removing google ffmpeg encoder. Dev options was fixed by disabling the System Reset Protection in system.prop.
Stock camera built with ROM still crashes.. we are working on that.. But all other 3rd party cameras work....................
Video does work as well as recording.. Google Camera doesnt work on video saving because of sdcardfs disabled in device tree..
we are working on this..............................
@Eliminater74 Thank you for your hard working. Btw, I see a new build 0408 in AFH. Are camera issues fixed in this build?
