I'm using Canvas A1 (android one), Android 5.1 lollipop, unlocked bootloader. I can't flash custom recovery (Philz) via adb or Android one toolkit. the flashing completes, then when I boot into recovery, I see that the stock recovery is still there. However, I can access custom recovery temporarily by "fastboot boot d:\recovery.img"
Flash a boot.img of lollipop if u r on a lollipop rom and flash a kitkat boot.img if u r on kitkat. And then flash the recovery...hit thanks if this helps!

Did you install custom recovery through odin? Which one and after that which rom?
Some custom rom required KitKat boot loader and you forced to update it. I have the same issue like you because I stayed with jelly bean boot loader. Everything is OK after upgrade. Good luck.

You can't install custom rom from stock recovery. First install custom recovery (TWRP or CWM) through Odin then you can flash desired CR.

Hi! I'm new here! :fingers-crossed:
I have CWM and a custom rom , so far without problems . But after flash a "boot.img" , from an unstable rom , all other roms are having the same problem that, until the backup. The songs of SD are not recognized , nor the photos in the gallery (from WhatsApp, Picasa, Google, and others).
What can i do? Just flash other boot.img from other rom?

I think you can reflash boot.img from another room like cyanogenmod. If you have cyanogenmod custom rom. Open zip file and search the boot.img file after that you can extract that file, and flash it in fastboot mode with flashtool. Or if you system unstable you can reflash the stock ftf file (stock rom) for your device an do a full wipe. Because boot.img is same with kernel.sin on ftf file. So just try ya:laugh:

so you using Archidroid ya? hmm ya i've been used that rom before for any experiment. but now not, so you want back to stock. it's easy, yap you just flash the ftf file via flashtool and do a wipe data and cache. about your twrp will gone and you will don't have any recovery because your kernel is back to stock kernel. so i you want custom rom. you can flash any recovery in fastboot mode via flashtool again after your phone is boot up succesfully ok
Plz try this

I think it was one of the versions of CM11 . For this reason , I'm worried . I'm thinking of going back to the original rom . Can I just give in flash rom with FlashTool ? This could brick the phone? (sorry for any error, using tradutor).

Problem solved . I'm back to stock, with FlashTool. Thanksss.... At the moment, from what I saw, all the sproblemas been resolved.
History : i've been using an earlier pre-rooted rom for this device and after having taking care of unrooting it, i tried the OTA Update to upgrade and access the TWSP and Garbage rom.
My issue is that as i access the phone in fastboot mode with fastboot and adb i can't acces the recovery mode : the phone reboot to fastboot.
Any hint appreciated
Manuel

According to http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/congrats-to-bootlocker-unlocked-t3138547
Step 1 to unlock is Update to 2.19.40
I'm on 2.15.40.13 and the OTA fails at the fastboot menu
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/orig-development/rom-pre-root-img-t3079590/page51
I forgot this was a pre-root system.img file as explained, no stock system.img provided
I think the recovery limitation was made on purpose to avoid bootloop after OTA.
Looking for stock rom to flash via fastboot

FOTA Recovery won't work on stock rom, try to use custom rom with base 5.0+ to use fota recovery. if you're use stock rom then use normal recovery (boot.img) and flash it with sony flashtool or using terminal command.
