[Q] Can I install rom Nexus 7 on Nexus 7 LTE? - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

I need to know can i install rom nexus 7 in android developer and/or original android developer on lte version and use same kernel?

This should work in most cases, but you won't have mobile data.
Edit: I shouldn't have to say this, but always make a back up first, because you never know what could go wrong.

[Q] [Help]Galaxy Nexus BootLoop Issue (MAC OSX)

Hi guys, i have unlocked my bootloader on my galaxy nexus and have rooted it. Upon installing a theme on my Nexus using CWM, i forgotten to back-up. Thus i installed the theme without a rom, basically installing a theme on a stock rom. How Stupid? Now im in bootloop. And all i can do is use FastBoot. Please help, im running on my Mac OSX 10.7 Lion.
Thanks
You seem like you know what to do. Just flash the factory images back with fastboot. They are located in a thread in general called reverting back to stock. Follow the Mac version of the commands. You will lose your SD card data tho.

WiFi tether cm10 nightly and latest radios not working

I can start the network, my devices can connect, but there is no internet access. I'm trying with other cm10 devices and windows 7 and 8 laptops. No go anywhere. Guys in the cm IEC say they don't know of any issues, so I'm thinking its the radios. I flashed them in twrp from the thread in, I think, development (all radios thread)

I wouldn't use ODIN. If your phone is functioning properly and you can use Fastboot, I recommend using that to get back to stock and start over.

I was having radio issues over the past few weeks. I went back to stock ICS on my phone, which was FC 12 radio, downloaded the FD02 radio and flashed that, which then auto updated to the FG01 radio, which when allowed me to update to JB and now I have the FH05 radio. Everything works fine for me now running CM 10 M1 nightly. I have wifi and I have tethered my Nexus 7 to it.
Not sure if this helps but I hope it provides some guidance.
bump. am having the same problem.

ROM won't install?

Hello all,
I just downloaded liquids RC5 and attempted to install after doing a full wipe of my stock ROM. I've tried 3 times and each time it says "failed to install getprop" and "(status 7)". I was wondering if anyone could help?

are you trying to install a maguro rom on a toro device or vice versa?
No I'm using a Verizon model and attempting to install the toro ROM, so it should be working fine. When I rooted with the GNex Tool Kit though I had to use the GSM model root option (the LTE version didn't have an option for 4.1.1 and in another thread I was assured it would work fine - which it did) would that have somehow changed it to the maguro build?

Be a big boy and don't use toolkits.
If that maguro option flashed a maguro recovery...then very much so, yes. That is your problem.
Since you're rooted...just download Rom Manager and use it to flash CWM for your device (TORO).

Found your problem. You used a toolkit instead of learning how to actually root/ROM.
Edit: Man, I'm slow on the draw today.
Toolkits cause many problems.

4.3.1 rooted, how to go to 4.4.2 ?

Hi dudes,
I've got a used Nexus 7 (2013) on android 4.3.1 firmware but rooted ...
I'd like to go to the lastest firmware 4.4.2 I guess, so I wonder if I can do a upgrade using the wifi as an unrooted tab or not ?
My tab is rooted , is it a problem for upgrading ?
If so, I'd rather unroot it, I prefere tablet as brand new ...
is there a way to brick my tab using the official update (by wifi) ?
Thanks !
If you are not receiving the update, just unroot it, and return it to stock. You can use the Nexus Root Toolkit by Wugfresh. It's really simple to use, and the help section is really good. Goggle it.
Have you tried going into settings, and going into system updates? Just having the tablet rooted, should not prevent you from receiving updates. Now, if it's routed with a custom rom, that's a different story. Good luck

hi, it is rooted with the official firmware 4.3.1 I Guess( is there a way to see if it's a custom or official firmware ?)
and I've got the notification of the 4.4.2 upgrade ...
?
In parameters here is what I've got :
band base version
DEB-G00_2.25.1_0802
kernel version
3.4.0-g9e52a21
[email protected]$1
so official one ?
I see that you have the LTE model (DEB.). If you could post a screenshot of your About Tablet screen, one of us should be able to help you.

apparently, trying to do a recevory using the POWER and UP trick, it seemes the guy before me has installed clockworkmod recovery v6.0.4.4 so what should I do ?
You could flash a 4.4.2 ROM using Clockwork Mod recovery. NOTE: Please research and double check every step before flashing. The basics are: make sure that you have plenty of battery life; make a backup of your current ROM; do a factory reset in Clockwork Mod; select a 4.4.2 specific to your device, e.g., Paranoid Android for DEB; download a zip file of SuperSu 1.94; download Gapps; then flash the ROM, Gapps, & Supersu. Again: read, read, read through XDA before flashing anything. EDIT: Make sure that you have the most recent Clockwork Mod version for your device.

I understand only English, so I don't know. I do know that as Bsnapp's post states, Wug's Nexus Toolkit works well for unrooting and flashing stock. Back up your files first.

Use this, you won't have any problems.

Few questions

1) is there any way to go from stock to rooted without wiping?
2) does the new cm13 support band 12, HD voice and volte on T-Mobile?
3) is returning to stock pretty easy?
4) how can I keep encryption on a third party rom or when rooted?
5) any way to get the band 12 modem without rooting?

1) if your bootloader is already unlocked then yes, if your bootloader is not unlocked then no
2) don't know that's something that needs to be asked in the cm discussion thread
3) yes of course.. It's a nexus as long as you know what you're doing... If you don't then I suggest you read and learn.
4) with cm I believe encryption is on by default (see the "cm wiped my internal storage" thread in this section. I believe they talk about it). Besides cm that's something to ask in that respective roms thread. Edit: it was actually in the 6p forums but same should apply. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3257083
5) wait for Google to push it and enable it themselves..
