How do I make sure that ALL my photos currently on my device are actually on my SD card and NOT on my device storage?

open the file directory for your ext sdcard in your file explorer and search to see if you can find all your picture files on it, likewise search your internal sd to verify all your pictures have been removed

How to properly swap over to new SD card

Hey guys, about to purchase a 32GB SD card and was wondering what the process was. Do I connect both the phone and the SD card to my laptop and just pretty much drag the whole "Removable Disk" from my phone to the new SD card and just swap them? Or is there a more complicated process?
If ur old SD card is not partitioned then just make sure u can view hidden files and copy full contents straight over to the new card.

Can you explain that in a way that an idiot can understand it?
I will be replacing the stock 8GB SD card.

Greetings fmedina2,
That means that insure that what ever file manager your using (no one knows what OS your computer has), find the settings that allow you to decide what is shown within each directory - owner, permissions, date/time created, date/time modified, etc...
Just make sure that the "show hidden/system files" option is shown - extensions too, if it's available.
This will insure that you will not overlook any files, when you attempt to copy them over to your new sdcard.

Phone wont see anything on my sd

Hey guys not sure if I'm doing something wrong but I have about 4 gigs on my sd card and my phone wont show it in any file manager it says all the folders are empty. I formatted the card and transferred everything back on and its still doing the same thing. Even tried transferring it to the internal memory and it shows the folders but again they are empty when I know the files are there. Any suggestions?

is it mounted? when you goto settings/storage is sd card mounted? can you mount to pc? when you mount to pc and open sd is your stuff in there? maybe the android.secure file was erased! if so then try taking a picture and saving to sd then see if you can find it trhu gallery
yes it is mounted and it lets me mount to the computer and transfer things. In storage it shows I have it half full but in a file manager it shows only 33 mb used. When I plug it into the computer all the files are there. I took a picture and saved it to the sd and it showed up in the gallery.

[Q] No SD card found

Hi, I'm having troubles with my sd card. If I open the file manager within android I can view the files on the sd card but if I open the camera or try to download a file from the web browser it says that I need to insert a sd card.

Deleted files from SD card but empty space the same

Hi
I have the Galaxy tab S 10.5 SM-T800 with stock rom
and when I delete files from EXTERNAL SD Card the space doesn't get affected by the deletion, I did that from both samsung stock file manager or from Samsung videos app of course because the device is not rooted
I've tried that for many times and still the same space (deleted files more than 2 GB)
I've tried also hooking the EXTERNAL SD Card to the PC using a card reader and removed couple of large files and the empty space increased perfectly but not from the Tab itself
I think you may be deleting stuff from the internal sdcard and not external.

Excuse me? I'm not following
I'm deleting from SD Card (The external SD Card) not the internal memory
As I stated I tried this from both the tab, and attaching the SD Card to a reader and plug into the PC
The external sd card is called something like ext_sd on the tab s. The internal storage is called sdcard.
Make sure you are deleting from the correct directory.

Can't Write to SD Card

Hi! I have a Sprint LS992 LG G5. I have a 200 GB SD Card. I can't save any files to my phone via the SD Card nor write anything to the SD Card. If I try to download something to the SD Card or have an app write to the SD Card, it will error out. I can, however, transfer files from computer to the SD Card. Is there a possible other pathway in the file explorer to access the SD Card? Currently, using Solid Explorer, my SD Card sits on /storage/BBF5-E792. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

You can save stuff to the sd card. You have to download whatever your downloading and use your stock file manager and move it to your external card. Other file managers will not work.

I downloaded things to internal memory and then was able to move it using Solid Explorer. It is such mickey mouse bull**** that you can't just download directly to the SD card. I only have 32 GB of internal memory space (which isn't enough) and having to move things from internal storage to an sd card is cumbersome and tedious. If you (or I for that matter), figure out a way to directly download to the sd card (which may mean using solid explorer to find another file name path to the sd card) I'll let you know!
