S-off with 5.01 - T-Mobile HTC One (M8)

Can anyone confirm a s off method with latest update. Firewater and sunshine doesn't work for me for some reason. Device was unlocked and rooted while on latest 5.0.1 tmobile

Sunshine team is working on it, according to the dialogue I got after failed attempt.

[Q] HTC One (M8) failing to s-off again

So I've recently S-On my M8 for personal purposes, works fine, but I want to S-Off again with firewater but it says it won't work (any amount of reflashing, reruuing.. won't work). Is there any way out?
Sunshine root at http://theroot.ninja/ -- but it's not free. (Worth the money, though!)
did you by any chance take an OTA update after going back to S-ON? if you did you most likely updated your firmware to one that's NOT firewater compatible. and therefore have no choice but to use the option tublah mentioned above - sunshine.
Normally if the phone was already s-offed even an ota couldn't patch it and make it s-on again...

[Q] S-Off on International ONE M8

Hi, im currently Rooted running ARHD 8.1.
However, i have trouble updating my software to ARHD 10.1 (to Android 4.4.3) because i lacked S-Off.
So i found a way to S-Off on which is to use firewater however it didn't work.
Is there something wrong with my ONE M8?
Is it just not supported?
Are there anyother way i could get it to S-Off?
Thank you!!!
You're either not following the steps exactly or device is not compatible with firewater. You can however still S-off with sunshine. I'm mobile otherwise I would link you to it.
firewater will not work on your device
use SunShine s-off , it will cost you 25$

New to the M8 scene

Im getting an M8 very shortly on T-Mobile. Ive read topics about unlocking and s off but im still counfused.
My goal is to have an unlocked bootloader, S-OFF, root, TWRP, and CM11.
i thought it would be simple. HTCDev, Firewater, etc.
but now i read more and now my process is
Root, HTCDev, S-OFF, Remove Red Text, Remove Tampered logo, SuperCID, TWRP, CM11
So some questions came up
Is there a way to unlock the bootloader without the red text.
Does Firewater work on all M8s
how do i remove the tampered logo
Thanks in advance!
You just need
HTCdev
Flash TWRP with fastboot
Flash CM11 from TWRP
The rest is optional. Firewater might not workd on newer M8 software, but Sunshine probably will.

Thank you. That helps a ton.
If you are going to S-Off, you don't even need HTCDev.
Download the latest Sunshine, pay $25 and you will be S-Off, no need to root beforehand anymore (I believe the latest version of sunshine takes care of this for you.)
From Sunshine post - Update 1.6
SunShine has been updated and no longer needs your device to be rooted or unlocked before running. SunShine will gain root itself, and unlock/s-off every variant of the m8 currently. Cheers!

S-OFF needed

Hey everyone. I am in need to S-OFF my device in order to update my bootloader so the 5.0 ROMs will work.
Is there a few reason to do this? I know firewater no longer works, but sunshine costs $25.
If you need s-off go with sunshine, there is no other option. So if you need it so it otherwise wait for the official ota

USA unlocked rom to UAEunlocked htc 10

Can I install usa official htc 10 unlocked rom on my unlocked htc 10 bought from uae?
Hmm, If you're rooted then yes
- Root either by sunshine or by unlocking the bootloader and flashing TWRP recovery then root..
- Change the CID & MID to match those for US Unlocked
- Flash the latest Android 6 RUU for US Unlocked
- Run the OTA to upgrade to 7 Nougat.
Note that if you used Sunshine then it's better to S-Off the phone also.. doing so will allow you to downgrade in case you didn't like the newer rom.
I'm S-Off and rooted, did not unlock the BL...
Changed the CID & MID, flashed the US Unlocked Android 6, updated using OTA to Nougat the I did a factory reset to keep Nougat as clean as possible & finally rooted with Magisk (SuperSU didn't do it, the phone keeps rebooting in a loop, restoring TWRP backup did not help either)

Good advice but a there are a few things that are not accurate:
1- Root only will not let you change CID or MID, you need S-Off for that.
2- To achieve S-Off the most simple method is Sunshine (paid app, $25).
3- S-Off doesn't require to be rooted previously if you're in an old version of Android, the app applies a temporary root to achieve S-Off, once S-Off'd the root is removed.
4- The only case where you will require permanent root is on latest version of Android, check the Sunshine web site to see which is the latest version temp root works on, is very probable Sunshine's temp root will work on a Marshmallow phone.
5- There is already a Nougat RUU for US unlocked, no need to run an old RUU and OTA if you can go to the latest version from the start.
