I have had my tp2 for a few months now and never had any problems with it, have had the memory card installed and working fine also, booting android from it many times. I was trying to open a file for Nostradamus mobile shell widgets and all the sudden my memory card just stopped showing.
I tried soft resetting multiple times, removing the card and putting it back in more than a few times. The phone doesn't show the card at all now, even synced with my computer it doesn't show it.
Any idea for what may have happened or how to fix this? None of the programs that I have installed to the card will work now that the phone doesn't read it. HELP!
have you tried plugging the card into your computer via a memory card reader? or another card?
I'd recommend doing both to figure out if the problem lies with your card or with your device.
best of luck
Hi,
Not sure if this helps, but I've had this twice in the lifetime of my device (European GSM, stock ROM, Touch Pro2). I used a Sandisk 16GB card, bought off the shelf from a major UK retailer (Phones 4U) and it worked great for about 6 months. Then suddenly one day, the TP2 stopped seeing the card. Not in Explorer, not in the "Memory" settings application, nowhere.
The card had never been out of the device, not had it (or the device) been in humidity, dusty situations, been subjected to shock etc. Just normal use. I tried the card in a PC card reader and attempted to format it. The PC would format it to about 80% then fail.
I took the card back to the retailer and exchanged it. Same thing happened another 3 months down the line, same issues. I'm on card 3 now and it's lasted about 8 months now.
tl;dr, try formatting it in a PC card reader, else it's an exchange/new card you'll need.
Adam.
Fixed!
Alright thanks to both of you for the advice, I did take my card out and try it in my girlfriends digital camera and it recognized it right away without a problem so I knew the card was still good. I lost the card reader for it so I formatted the card with the menu inside her camera, popped it back into my TP2 and it works again!
thanks again for the help guys!
Hi I had this phone for while and bought the sandisk Ultra 32GB class 10 sd card when I got this awesome phone. However lately my phone was acting strange. For past 4 days my phone will randomly unmount SD card and notify me that it got disconnected. When I turn on the screen then it will shortly mount the SD card and does not show these problem. Not only that these is happening consistently and keeping my phone awake and draining my battery as well. I don't have picture with me since I format my whole phone and SD card but this will happen at least 20 to 30 times in a hour.
I used to use Saurom Project Hybird 1.3.2 before and I format everything, from TWRP, and installed CleanRom ACE 4.5 but it is still happening with same problem.
Is there any way to fix these problem?
Same here

I have the same problem with a 32gb San disk, after searching all day the only conclusion I came up with is that sd card is going bad and needs to be replaced preferably for one that is not a SanDisk. I guess they are not compatible
Thanks. I was hoping that I didn't had to do that. Anyway do you have any other brand that is good?
I guess your best bet would be going with a Samsung sd card just to avoid having problems in the future.
I'm having the same problem it is not your SD card or at least I don't think so I read a different XD a thread for hey note 2 on a different carrier it was over 17 pages long of people having the exact same issue some say that the SanDisk 32 they are so then and that put in a piece of paper behind them will solve the problem but I'm not finding that word besides I find it funny it only does this when my phone is in sleep or when I'm in a phone call it is very annoying I currently am being told I have a blank SD card and sometimes later it may just work for no reason

If you're getting heavy Media Server battery usage with the unmounts, it's could be a bad media file on your SD card crashing the Media Server and causing the unmounts.
I deleted podcasts, videos, and mp3s off of my SD card and the error went away. A clean format of the card should also work.
I dont think that was my case. I format the sd card and keep it empty and mount the sd card and it was still having the problem. However when I change my sd card to my old one the error when away. I guess I got bad sd card.
So my SanDisk 32gb sd card stopped working and became completely unresponsive no matter what device i put it in. I tried it in various computers and my tablet and nothing will recognize it except the xperia play and all it says is blank SD card and i tried to format it but it wont even format. Is there anyway to force my SD card to format so i can use it again or is it dead.
I've had the same problem mate.
It was the SanDisk 32gb also so it's probably a bug with the memory card.
There's nothing you can do except for getting a new one
Now I have a Sony 32gb and I almost had the same problem on that....when I insert it into my tablet it sometimes says damaged sd card. But it still works.

How old is the card?

The card is only a year old, only used it for 6 months, this is the second card to go bad in this phone, same brand and size card also
but i have 2 in my tf700 and they perform like a dream, and this is my 3rd xperia play, so not sure what the issue is, maybe i keep getting bad phones
Hope you dont mind my asking. But, Do you have a habit of unplugging the SD card from your computer without first stopping the usb function on the task/start bar?
i never unplugged the usb cable i would always disable usb mode on my phone, but the very few times i took the card out and put in in my sd card reader i never disabled it, then again, ive never disabled it on any usb device ive ever owned and ive never had a failure like this
So I have a AT&T GN8. At one point I had some SIM card issues and I needed to insert and take the SIM card out a couple of times. In doing so, it led me to this problem.
- The SIM card insertion process now is reversed. For example, when I insert a SIM card and "click" it in, I get a window that pops up saying that the SIM card has been removed, please reboot the device. When I remove it, i.e., click on it to remove it, it says that the device detects a new SIM card, please reboot.
- The only way that I can get the SIM card to work is to click it out, but then leave it partially inserted for the device to read it. I then close the plastic SIM card cover to try to get it to stick in place, but sometimes the cover gets loose and the device notifies me that that the SIM card is out. Obviously not an ideal situation.
Does this make any sense at all? Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix this?
Thanks.

I only remove or install a SIM when the device is off. Maybe you can do this with the Note 8.0, but I like the tried and true method that works all the time for me without any hassles.

Thanks. Tried that a couple of times but no go. It's very odd, for some reason the mechanism thingy is reversed so clicked in signals out and vice versa. I finally put a piece of scotch tape on the SIM card cover to keep the cover from popping out with the SIM card. Works fine for now, but I'm sure the next time I'm overseas it will be a pain.
Hi all,
Every now and again while my SM-T705 is sleeping the SD card seems to unmount while sleeping and remounts when I wake the device (message appears saying an SD card has been inserted, one time an app that was reading an epub off the SD card when it went to sleep threw up an error on waking). On two occasions there was also a notification saying that the SD card was unexpectedly unmounted and it ran an error check.
I understand that this has been a problem with Sandisk SD cards in the past but I'm using a Kingston 32GB card. Is this supposed to be happening? There doesn't seem to be any problem with the card when putting it in my PC through an adapter. It hasn't yet remounted while actually using the device, only when sleeping.
I'm using a samsung evo 64gb card and have no problems. However i have had that problem with cards that have turned out to be damaged.
Id say get a new card..
