you meant whack off?
lol that's hilarious ,next time use a rubber case. you will be charged if there is any physical damage unless no. but pretend like it's a malfunction of the manufacturer.

Do I need it? Should I bring it into sprint to check out? I don't know if theres anything they can do.
Its the little red thing and the black thing that says 8mg or something.
The camera still works, but Its not protected now.
I have insurance on my phone, and Its from dropping it too many times I guess.
You said it your self..."it protects the camera"!!!
Dust, dirt, the tip of a key... these are all things that are in our pockets and could prove to be a hazard to your "unprotected" camera lense.
Now you said you have insurance ....(scratches head, deep in thought).... your call m8!?!?
Most likely they'll take your phone, pop it apart and replace the camera module.
Sent From The Tree House Out Back!
The camera was working fine When I took a pic yesterday its looked real bad. It was real grainy with red throughout. I flipped the the cam around for the front camera and same thing. Any suggestions?
Did you drop your phone?
Wear tight pants, and keep it in your pocket?
Sit on it? Run it over? Let a baby chew on it?
Take it to Sprint and have them replace the camera, if you have the TEP...
I just replaced the digitizer and the lcd ( I did it myself). It was working fine after i fixed it. I believe someone at work did drop it while the phone was charging. Why would both from and back cameras look bad?
especially after having had it opened I will guarantee it is a hardware failure. I had my digitizer replaced at the Sprint store and the next day my phone had no signal at all anywhere. Was it a digitizer failure or was it broken? Mine failed, I am sure from having it in my pants pocket, this has happened 3 times now, once had to have a refurbed phone sent to me. Everything is in such a small area it could have all been affected by the drop, especially after having opened it yourself.
Try physically pushing on the camera lens.
Sometimes the camera becomes loose from the board.
Gently push on it to reseat it.
Hopefully that works

I dropped my phone and cracked the digitizer. When changing it, i cracked the lcd taking it out. I did have everything working fine after I put it all together...
I pushed it and it worked as far as the back camera. I will buy another front cam which I found it is only 6 dollars. I believe the ribbon cable most of cracked..
hopefully you get your cam fixed
I ordered my Nexus 5X from bhphotovideo, shipping to Mexico. Sadly, I got a defective camera and bhphotovideo doesn't want to comply with customs here in Mexico so if I exchange my item I'll have to pay import taxes again (about 147 usd(even with this the phone was cheaper than buying it here in Mexico)).
I think the best option for me would be to replace the camera (it looks really easy) but I haven't been able to find a replacement camera module at a decent price.
Do you guys know a page where I could buy this? Or does someone knows when they might become available?
contact Google for a replacement/repair. they are usually better at customer service than LG. Ultimately call LG for a repair quote. It shouldn't be much.
what's wrong with it?

I think I'll try LG since they have offices here in Mexico, let's hope they help even though it was bought in the us
mate that looks more like dust between the lens and the back cover... i've seen this happen in a dslr where dust goes between the lens and the image sensor
if LG fails to repair your device (i say they will fix it) then you can always open it to clear the dust out.

I think that the spot might be in the sensor itself but it is worth a try
Will removing the back cover void the warranty?
Well I tried opening an though I couldn't remove the black spot it moved to another place... so I'm guessing it some dust really really stuck to the inner lens?
Any ideas of what I can use to clean it?

they sell cans that contain compressed air.. specially used for electronics.. you could try that if there's any opening around the lens.. but i doubt there will be any opening. to prevent dust going in, in the first place.

here's what it looks like
the first thing i'd do is try to figure out where the dust is sitting. most likely its just between the lens and the back cover lens which would make it really easy to fix
Today while sleeping I dropped my pillow on the charger of the nexus... and it fell to the floor
When I used the camera again the spot was gone and the camera is now working correctly D:
I got lucky I guess <3
I searched through 15 pages of topics, didn't find anything on this....But seems to be an issue when you Google it?
My s20 has been getting fuzzier and fuzzier with pics... I even get the dirty lens warning from time to time....Then today, I notices dark "blobs" on my pics of the snow.... Upon further examination, my lenses are really dirty under the back glass?!
I tried blowing air in the mic hole, but nothing changed.
Is there an easy fix for this? I'm taking it to UbreakIfix tomorrow to see what they can do, but figured I'd check here for an easier, non-evasive (cheaper) solution?

I had dust on my lens (ultra) and took it back. They replaced the back because there was no way to clean it. Pictures are still crap, but thats just the phone !

I know its been over a year but did find a fix for this I have the same issue on my s20 ultra on the telephoto camera
I took it to UbreakIfix, they ran the SN and it had 3 months left on the warranty, so that covered the fix.
The fix was to actually replace the entire back of the phone (which has the camera window in it).
I still have my S20, keep it as a back up to my new phone.... I pull it out to test apps I'm not sure I want to put on my new phone. It still holds it's own almost 3 years later!

Thank you for replying what I understand from this is only to clean the lens and change the camera glass not the full camera !

Yes, this was just the glass that covers the camera array.....Which is part of the entire back part of the phone.
I knew I should have known better but I did research the local shops around my area before deciding. My Note 10 needed a new battery after dying and I was quoted 50 for a replacement battery by Samsung. I was happy with that and left it for him to sort out, week later I come to pick up the phone with the new battery. It was only back home when I took a photo, that the camera couldn't focus at all on anything at 1x or 2x. Cue me going back and explaining to him about the issue, he looks dumbfounded and even then thought probably just a simple error. Turns out with the back cover off the camera works fine, but when he glues the back cover on again the issue reappears?. So he told me to leave it again, and week later I come back and he's "fixed" it, tells me about the cover applying too much pressure or something so I was OK with the excuse because I just wanted to leave the shop because of nerves but does work after showing me. Again go home, and put the case back on and the stupid camera issue appears. At this point I'm fed up going back and forth, plus it be a case of proving he damaged it which is unlikely however, the guy is super nice but so disappointed in the job he did. Wanted to ask is there anything I can do, anybody who fixes phones aware of this issue?.
If it works with the rear cover off; is it a OEM rear cover and lens protector? Check clearances and for loose or damaged connectors/ribbon cable.
Replace with OEM or after market rear cover seal rather than double sided tape, see if that works.
