Current OS is ColorOS 2.0
I'm new to Android rooting and modding. my device says I do not have root access (When trying to install SuperSU I get errors). However I have TWRP installed on the phone. I would like to install cyanogenmod on the device. I have followed the tutorial on the oppo forums for rooting but SuperSU saying 'SuperSU's su binary is not present, this is a fatel ERROR!' I have also followed guides on how to unroot but no luck.
Follow the method where you have to unlock bootloader and wherein jacho's su is provided for rooting.

I just flashed Omnirom 4.4.2 kitkat. The rom flashed fine, but I lost root. I tried reflashing root from recovery, and it said it worked, but when I reboot and open SuperSU it gives a message that it cannot install the SU binary, and if I just upgraded to 4.3 I should check XDA forums for my device. is there another SU file I can flash that will work? or can I not get root back with this ROM?
Just as always,
There is a program for windows called kingoroot.
Use it and you got your root back.
Also, don't forget to update your SuperSu app to the latest version!
(In future, please search in existing topics or just google it. There are a lott of topics about the same problem!)
I want to root my nexus 7 .Its on 4.4.4 kitkat right now. I have rooted many devices before like samsung galaxy ace,s2,fit and micromax etc using one click root softwares (https://www.oneclickroot.com), through flashing a rooting file and have never encountered a problem. They needed a single click and never needed a clean wipe or unlocking bootloader. Is it possible to do something like that with my nexus.
I have come across a thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2233852
but i think it is for an older version of nexus 7.
is towelroot safe?
Need advice. Thank you.
Short answer: TowelRoot is safe but grants no control over root as it gives root permission to all apps that require it.
Long answer and tip: First remember that if you in future want to flash a factory image, it is required to unlock the bootloader and also if u want to update the Android version via OTA , it will fail as the system partition will be modified and OTA does not like that. When I bought my Nexus 7 2013 WiFi (a.k.a Flo) last year I have rooted using TowelRoot without unlocking the bootloader and it ran for 2 weeks flawlessly, so I say it is safe in a way. But TowelRoot does not give you any control over the apps or services that request root access as it grants them access without asking I did not like that so I have unlocked the bootloader (which completely wiped all apps, data and files from my Nexus 7 2013 as this is normal because unlocking also performs a factory reset) and flashed a new factory image of 4.4.4 just to be sure I got TowelRoot removed and rooted using Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit with SuperSU so I have control over the root granting or denying. My advice is root with TowelRoot , then backup all your apps using Titanium Backup and all your storage files that you need, to your PC, then unlock the bootloader and root with SuperSU so you have control over root, using Nexus Root Toolkit ( it has fantastic instructions and it's super easy to use and understand and install adb drivers). If you ever want to flash a custom ROM, you need an unlocked bootloader to flash TWRP recovery and the custom ROM and/or custom kernel of choice through it. Also flashing a factory image requires unlocked bootloader as I specified in the beginning of the post.

Hola,
I am trying to root my sg3 t-mobile, I used Odin to install clockwork and everything went ok (It said Pass). Then i tried install CWM-SuperSU-v0.87 to gain superuser access but I keep receiving the message when I install from recovery:
e signature verification failed

and the phone reboots. I used these files for rooting from this tutorial.
Can you help me?
Wow! That is very very old! You should read the sticky threads and search the General and FaQ sections for more recent info.
Also search xda for SuperSU and you'll find the version you should be flashing is 2.46. (Probably all you need)
Or, depending on your firmware build, you can just use Towelroot. (Page 1 in general section)

manual root
The thing is that I want to install manually root access because I want to install clockworkmod and a costum ROM. Although I installed towelroot as you mentioned and I granted root access, now if install a costum ROM the towelroot app will be deleted so I loose root access right?
I also tried flashing SuperSu 2.46 before towelroot but still, no root access.
Thnx.
Any rom you flash will be rooted so you don't have to worry about that. Just flash your recovery and then flash your rom. That's it.

rooting SG3-T MOBILE without using pc.
Installed Towelroot
Installed Rom Manager -> Clockworkmod
WIPE DALVIK/ CACHE/ FACTORY RESET
Installed CM12 -> GAPPS5.1
BINGO. thnx
Rooting is not required to flash a custom recovery and custom ROM.

Then, what's the root for? So we can just copy the roms/recovery zips into our sd and flash them?
Root allows you to read\write the \system partition, and parts if /data that are also protected. It only affects things when booted into the android OS. There are lots of things you can do with it. Debloat, modify, tweak, etc.
Pretty much all custom roms are already rooted, and all you need to flash them is a custom recovery.

Its been a while... How do I root these and get twrp on them so i can flash new roms on them? I Dont even remember how to root them... Help please....
There is guides on the general thread to assist you and your boggle or in the deadicated forum fir verzion devices
The best way:
*TOT or KDZ back to a KitKat version(10b or 12b): https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/general/guide-flash-to-stock-10b-kdz-method-t2928140
*Then root using Stumproot: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg...root-stump-root-lg-g3-sprint-verizon-t2850906
*Then install a twrp .img recovery for vs985 using the flashify or Rashr app or something comparable: https://twrp.me/devices/lgg3verizon.html
*Make a backup, wipe, and get flashing
The lazy way: search for the kingroot app and see if it works on your version of 6.0. Some early MM/6.0 versions worked and you could get temporary root that way(root with kingroot doesn't last through reboot). Once you have root, download a flashing app as mentioned above, install recovery, and do your thing.

Evidentially root has been done by what seems to be a few different attempts with root.bat scripts after eng.boot flash which I did successfuly... I followed a threads that linked me to a few more with multiple SuperSU 2.79 and 2.82 root.bat scripts haven't been able to get the to inject SuperSU .
What's everyone using to get root on nougat qe1 can any one give me the proper guide .
I extract the SuperSU script and ran The root.bat from fastboot folder it installed SuperSU app but when it opens it says update binary .
it may still say update on SuperSu app, as ones older than 2.82, maybe even 2.82 is older now, but rooting still works even when it says it needs an update..
its because its modified to work with our qualcomm devices, so not the same as the one on playstore, thus it thinks it needs updating ...
but doesnt stop it being rooted , althou people are having problems on the new update qf1 now
That don't answer my question how do I root it what is the proper root.bat file and where is it located online ?
I have root required apps installed and none can find supersu rights. It isn't injecting correctly its the wrong script .
The app shows up on the phone but when I try an app that needs root it don't find it and I can't install busybox cause that requires root too..
All I wanna know is what is the correct root file that people are using to successfully root 7.0 I've already unlocked bootloader.
