I have an HTC one m8 developer edition unlocked, which I bought in USA. I'm planning to travel to India and they now have 4G LTE, but only on 2300mhz. As far as I know, this phone supports only 700/850/900/1800/2100/2600 mhz. I saw something on android central about how 4.4.3 update brings support for LTE in India. Is there anyway, I can use 4G LTE in India.

and then I went to Rogers and asked them this :
Hi, I was wondering if the HTC Desire will work with 3G bands frequency
of your network ? HTC Desire 3G bands frequencies are 900/2100 mhz
the answered me with
"The 3G frequency that we are using is 1900 and 2100. It is likely that
the phone you are inquiring about will work on our network on the 2100
3G frequency, however we cannot guarantee it because we can't guarantee
full service with phones that were not purchased from Rogers as they
were never tested on the Rogers network."
So what do you think , will it work

I recently won a m8 in a contest. And through lots of searching I'm stuck, I live in the UK and my phone is from the US. I want to know if my phone has the right hardware to get lte on bands 3 and 7 as I'm on ee. But I cannot find out anywhere what hardware is inside the device, any suggestions? Thanks.
Check the preferred network (in settings) if you can enable lte connectivity.

Any carrier branding (Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile) on the outside of the phone or on the OS (splash screen, etc.)? Mosts US M8s are branded, aside from Dev Edition, unlocked, or GPE.
As long as its a GSM M8 (Verizon and Sprint are CDMA/GSM) in theory you should be able to flash a different radio to get the proper band compatibility, even if your model doesn't officially support the needed LTE band (unlocking of bootloader and S-off required).
Hi folks of XDA! I have a quick question for anyone who knows their 3G/4G/LTE band connections!
So before going straight into the question I feel like it's necessary for me to give you some background information... I currently have an iPhone 6 (as my HTC One X broke late last year) and I'm definitely planning to switch back to Android. More specifically, I want to purchase an HTC One M9 unlocked/developer edition. Unfortunately I don't believe HTC will be selling an unlocked/developer edition for Canada (as they have not done this for the M8) so I was wondering if I can buy a USA unlocked/developer edition of the HTC M9 and it would be compatible with Fido's 3G/4G/LTE bands?
According to Fido's website, "Your device must be compatible with the Fido network, which uses GSM, UMTS, HSPA and HSPA+ at 850 MHz and 1900 MHz. To access LTE network, the phone must be compatible with: 700 MHz on Band 17; | 1700/2100 MHz on Band 4; | 2600 MHz on Band 7.
I did a little digging and HTC USA's twitter, states that, "The HTC One M9 - Developer and Unlocked utilizes LTE bands: 700/850/AWS/1800/1900/2300/2600(B12/B17/B29/B13/B5/B4/B3/B2/B30/B7)"
A Fido mod on the Fido forums states, "Fido's LTE network uses the 2100 and 2600 MHz frequencies (mostly 2600 MHz)" (So I'm guessing it'll work with Fido's 2600MHz) and from another user, they said, "You do need AWS to gain access to [Fido's] LTE network". (looks like the unlocked M9 have AWS)
So with all this information, I'm guessing the unlocked version of the M9 will be able to work due to it having 2600 MHz frequency and AWS? Will there be a problem with battery as different bands are being utilized? If I recall correctly, some tech reviewers on YouTube have used Korean phones in the past and they had really bad battery due to the phone keep trying to find "proper" 3G/4G/LTE bands but when they got ahold of a US model, battery life was far better.
tldr; unlocked M9 work for Fido 3G/4G/LTE? Difference in battery life? (explain if possible); ayylmao?
Also I don't want to purchase a Roger's HTC One M9 outright on day 1 as it'll still have bloatware and delay in updates... two things I do not like!
Fido uses 700, AWS, and 2600 for LTE, all of which the Dev edition supports.
So my presumption is that it'll work flawlessly with Fidos network with no battery issues.
My goal now is to get the unlocked version of the M9 to be shipped to Canada haha

No guarantees on the battery, but everything else will work fine. I just got my M9 Dev Edition for use on Bell (same freq. requirements as Fido).

If you live near Niagara, there are several places that only charge $5 to hold your package for pickup. There are also places you can use to forward the package to Canada when they receive it.

I live on the west coast and I have a friend who referred a company to me which will handle my package. Thanks for the heads up about the Bell network and your developer edition M9 . I might as well get the developer edition too as they both use the same bands and etc w/ the same price. Much appreciated for your quick replies!
I'm looking at upgrading my M7 to the M8 and have become aware of the 4G-LTE versions that are available, basically the O2 and Tesco network providers here in the UK only seem to support 800mhz for 4G and LTE M8's don't support 800mhz on the 4G band as I'm with Tesco then the LTE versio of the M8 is no good for me. If I root the M8 is there a way to unlock the 800mhz band for 4G on LTE versions of the M8 at all or any other way around this as all the cheaper prices for the M8 when I look online are the LTE version of the phone

Do you have a model number or link to be sure of what variant we are talking about?
Based on the following webpage 3 uses Band 3 (1800 MHz) for LTE: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks_in_Europe
And based on the following, the US unlocked M8 does not support LTE band 3: https://support.t-mobile.com/message/358933
So based on this, the US unlocked M8 will not receive 4G LTE on your carrier.
Band support can be changed in software. However, it requires s-off ($25 US by sunshine). And unless you are getting a really good deal on the US unlocked version, I normally suggest getting the variant that supports your carrier's bands out of the box; to avoid the small chance you aren't successful in modding the phone.

LTE 800, 1800 and 2600 MHz correspond to Bands 20, 3, and 38 respectively. The specs in the page you linked indicate that it doesn't support any of those LTE bands (supports Bands 17/4/2/5). Those specs also matched the linked I provided in my last post for the US unlocked version.
LTE won't work for you unless you modify the phone's software/firmware as I indicated in my last post.
