I have had this issue since I got the phone. When I set an alarm using s-voice the alarm will go off but no sound will be played. If I create the alarm using s-voice and then go edit the alarm , I don't change anything all I do is save it and the sound works. This problem is very annoying as I might as well just set the alarm manually so s-voice is useless for this. This has been happening for me for the last 2 firmware upgrades. I was rooted on the 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 and unrooted on the latest firmware. Sound volumes are at maximum. I don't have sound blocking enabled like I said it looks like the alarm isn't being saved correctly using s-voice
I have the same problem on Note 2 with 4.4.2 on Sprint (L900VPUCNE2). Alarms set with a Google Now voice command also don't sound. Took several alarms before I figured out why some weren't sounding.

Weird problem here; when I first got my HTC One X the alarms in the stock Clock app worked perfectly. They still work now, but I can no longer create new alarms with the Alarm Sound option set to Music, nor can I change existing alarms to use new music.
I first experienced the problem at least a month ago, and wrote it off to the app data being slightly corrupted, but just a couple of days ago I applied the RUU update, wiping my app data in the process. (And I didn't restore a backup, just reinstalled a few key apps and reloaded their data manually.)
So... there are no alarms set in the Clock app except the default three unnamed, disabled alarms. I can't change these to use music, and nor can I create a new alarm with music.
The symptom is that when I tap on the Music option, the menu vanished and I'm dumped back at the Set alarm screen without a warning, and without ever being given the chance to choose the music for the alarm. The alarm sound remains set to whatever it was before I attempted to change it to Music.
Before I wiped my phone, the existing Music alarms continued to work just fine, and there's very little music on my phone at all--just a handful of regular, short MP3s I used for alarms and the ringtone. They all play fine outside the Clock app.
Anybody else who can replicate this issue, or who has any thoughts / suggestions?
hi. I am having an issue with my stock galaxy s 3 alarm. When I set the alarm to a time and set with vibration and melody and pick any song (sounds or my files) it will only vibrate. I know I haven't blown the speaker because it still plays music from it. Can anyone help me with my problem?

Still stock. No roots or attempts to root
Never mind. I found out what was wrong. Appearently with the new update they moved alarm volume with default volume. Not notifications. So now I have to have my sound on to have an alarm.
Can anyone suggest an app that will mute all other volumes without muting my main sound? And possibly put it back to the way I had it after? And it needs to be free until I can get a credit card or Google accepts visa debit.
Edit: also the app must be able to work on a non rooted phone. Hopefully I'm not asking for a whole lot or posting in the wrong spot.

That's weird. I always keep my phone on vibrate at night too. Try another alarm app. I've found the Samsung default alarms to be unreliable anyways.

They all do. I tried a good portion of ones including DoubleTwist alarm.

I need someone else that is on a 5.1 rom to turn their volume all the way down to the vibrate setting. Then set an alarm.
On 5.0 roms and below the alarm would play like normal. Nice and loud. Like a alarm should be. On the 5.1 roms the alarm sound, while the phone is set to vibrate, is extremely quiet. And I cannot find where to change this setting.
Happens on Insert Coin's 5.1 rom and Maximus's 5.1 rom.

Alarm volume is fine for me. On ICE 3.0.1. I used the volume down button to get to vibrate, used the settings button to check alarm volume (it was all the way up, so I didn't touch that slider), then set an alarm and waited. Volume seemed normal when the alarm went off.
Was this a stock alarm or a custom sound? Mine is a mp3 and it sounds normal outside of being set as an alarm.

Just a stock sound...foxglove. Volume escalates, but at the loudest it seems like its the same as it was on 5.0.1 roms and even back on my M8.
Sometimes when i go to sleep i let the phone to general profile with the ringer volume maximum, but in morning i don't hear when someone calls me and the alarm ringing, like the phone is on silent mode. The clock says alarm was silenced. Someone can help me? Stock Rom, no root and fireos 4.6.6.1
Facing same problem. My phone's alarm does not ring most of the time. Here is the workaround for alarm:
I am using this app for setting up alarm: Simple Alarm Clock Free(cant post link)
As far as phone call ring is concerned, I don't know about it because I'm not using SIM Card in my phone.
My previous phone, Gear S2, had no speaker so the alarm was silent and just vibrated. This was ideal for when I work as an invigilator for exams where I have to tell the students to save their work very 20 minutes. My new Galaxy Watch alarm both vibrates and makes a sound which, clearly, is not a good thing in an exam room! Is there a way to turn the sound off or another app which I can use to set alarms? I have been using the Timer alarm but then I can only set one alarm at a time instead of setting all of them in one go.
Thanks for any help.
You can change alarm sound ( set it to mute in your case) and change vibration pattern when swiping to the left while editing your alarm. It's the next screen after the day repeat screen.
Thanks so much! I had never noticed that those settings existed but have changed to mute and all good now.
