I just got an adapter for my Tab S SM-T800 to give me HDMI output and mirror the screen, but it only outputs 16:10 while the TV is 16:9. Is there any way to change the resolution?

Re-visiting this because I didn't get a definitive answer on HDMI to DVI output on all the other post. I have used the Samsung HDMI adapter to watch Netfix, movies on device, and anything on the device on an HDMI monitor and a HD TV and it works great with no problems. Has anyone successfully used a HDMI to DVI cable, with this device? I have an Optima Projector with VGA and DVI inputs. I have tried an expensive $60 HDMI to DVI cabe and a generic $15 one and niether works when attached to the Samsung HDMI adapter. I'm just getting a "No Source Found" message on the projector. Any help is appreciated.
Hmm,
HDMI is a digital only standard. DVI is both digital and analog (has pins for both). A HDMI to DVI cable converts to the digital DVI standard. If your projector does not see the signal, I suspect it is hard wired for analog DVI. To connect to such a device you will need an active converter box that converts the digital HDMI to analog DVI or VGA.

I have also tried using an HDMI to DVI adapter with my LCD monitor that I normally use with my laptop, doesn't work. I think somehow the adapter prevents the HDMI out thing from realizing that there's something connected on the other side. Interestingly enough, HDMI to VGA adapters do work, I imagine because it's an active adapter that puts a load on the output so the tablet knows to output a signal.
Hi. I am trying to use my Note 2 as a desktop computer and I would like to achieve the following steps (at the same time):
-HDMI out with a correct screen resolution
-Use a 7 port Belkin USB Hub
I have tested each one separately. The hub works great using a Micro-USB adapter and the Samsung HML cable works but I am unable to get a correct screen resolution (image is always too big for the screen in every tv or monitor I have tried).
How can I get both things working correctly at the same time?
Many thanks
you should be able to correct the aspect ratio on whatever monitor you are using

My cheap Vizio 21.5" flat screen tv doesn't allow me to change the aspect ratio... but what about connecting HDMI and a USB hub both at the same time?

One HDMI + 3 USB ports
when ever i try and output my note 2 to my tv via the MHL adapter, it only ever goes 1080i, never 1080p. Is there a way i can force it to go 1080p?
The slimport outputs in 720p via hdmi?
is there any device that can then take that signal and convert it to 576i or 480i to be used on a rgb-scart cable on a SD TV? basically a HDMI to RGB-Scart converter device.

would that work.
Has anyone tried 1080p MHL output on the Tab Pro? (T520). I have an unofficial MHL adapter but I'm only able to get 720p output. Don't know if the problem is the adapter or some other thing. I cannot find any output setting in the menu neither. (running stock)
Yes the official Samsung MHL adapter can do 1080p @ 60fps most knockoffs will only do [email protected] or rarely [email protected] claim they can do 60 fps who knows..
I think wifi display is much better though
