Phone charging port melted - LG Optimus G Pro

Hello, this night i was charging my phone (like every night) but when i woke up i saw my phone was off so i turned it on and wanted to remove my charger but it was stuck in the phone and then i saw the port was melted and deformed so i couldn't take the charging cable out of my phone (maybe if i pull really hard, not gonna try it yet). So i am thinking about returning the phone to LG maybe or to a store, i don't know, but as this is not a software issue i don't have to pay anything right? But another problem is that i have rooted my phone and have a custom firmware on it. So is there a way to unroot my phone without connecting to USB, and put the original firmware on it? I have BlissPop 1.5 Android 5 and TWRP custom recovery.
Thanks in advance

Help Please?

charging/usb port problem - can't un-root

I've seen this problem mentioned before, but no good fixes.
My phone won't charge while on, but will when off. Charging has always been a little buggy, but now seems stuck this way.
The problem seems to keep my phone from connecting to the computer - neither the mac android download program will recognize the phone, nor will it charge off the computer, nor will the wugfresh tool see it when plugged into my PC.
I rooted/unlocked using the wugfresh tool (kept the stock ROM) and figure I need to warranty replace the phone - but because the computer won't recognize it, I don't know how to un-root/re-lock it.
Question - 1. anybody know how to fix my usb charging/recognition problem? 2. assuming not, is there a way to un-root/re-lock the phone without needing to plug the phone into a computer?
Thanks very much!
Does it charge with the phone on from AC? And when it's plugged up to your mac, does it have the thing in the notification bar saying its connected?
It's possible you have a bad cable, just to eliminate the easy fix first. It should charge fine with any mini USB charger.
If you can get it to charge from AC, I'd try a different computer if possible or if not maybe a re-install of the drivers.
Next, as maybe a last ditch effort, it's possible the ROM got corrupted, though I'm not sure how likely that would be. I'm sure you can get the stock ROM to flash in Clockworkmod but the only way to re-lock the bootloader that I know of requires a PC.
Maybe someone else can chime in weather or not Samsung actually cares if you're unlocked when it comes to a warranty for a hardware problem. Also, what carrier do you have? They may just give you a new phone themselves and again, maybe someone can tell you if they actually look at whether you've modded your phone.
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, when it's hooked up to an AC adapter and the phone is ON, I get no charging. When the phone is on and hooked up to a computer (both PC and mac), I get no charging. No upper right hand corner battery indicator change.
In fact, when the phone is off and hooked up to AC power, it seems to be hit-and-miss as to whether or not it actually charges.
Plugged into a computer, I get nothing - it doesn't register a device is attached at all.
I think that's a great question - if you return an un-locked phone, do they definitely get mad at you? I wonder if that's been asked in the forums before...maybe I'll make a different thread?
Also, from clockworkmod, how can I flash the original rom, as you suggested?
I've already factory re-set the phone and even flashed a different ROM just to see what would happen - and it didn't fix the charging issue.

I literally had this exact issue over the weekend where it would charge when powered off but then the USB would completely die when the phone was turned on. All after using my incar charger. It seems the port inside the phone got bent so that the board inside was almost touching the bottom of the phone. If held flat on your palm...
I fixed it by bending the board back up with a knife so its dead in the middle of the port. No problems charging now.
this exact problem has been an issue for me as well, contacted Samsung and told them i bought it second hand and they issued a rma and sent me a ups label t send it in. This is my first phone that broke before I even had a chance to root it. I was pissed at Htc so decided to try something new. Going back to my T-Bolt for a while now.
My phone charges sometimes, others it doesnt. Sometimes the "Nintendo blow" works, other times it requires force. Eventually I can always get it to charge, but it can take a half hour of playing with it. I have multiple cables, original Samsung batteries, and lots of experience inside phones, and have never had an issue that I couldnt FULLY determine was hardware or software. Samsung claims they have never seen this issue. lol. Obviously they dont visit the forums

great idea - i was using my car charger this weekend. i'll give it a shot.
update - i bent the little board up off the bottom, and now i can't fit the charger in it. uhoh.
This is becoming a bigger and bigger issue. Please star and/or comment on this issue: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=23789
I sent my galaxy to Samsung 2 weeks ago, it is due to arrive back today. They paid postage each way and the invoice says they replaced a component (no detail) and updated software and prl. I was already on the current release so not sure what to expect. But it is good to know they are taking care of us.

[Q] Phone won't charge, but...

A few hours ago I noticed that the phone wasn't charging even though it was connected. So I did a few experiments: I put into into three different power outlets, I tried a different charger, I connected it to the computer but nothing happened (the computer didn't even recognize it). Then I decided to turn it off and try again, and these are the results: the screen turns on really often to let me know that it's charging, there's even the charging animation, but if I try to turn it on not only it isn't charged, but it doesn't seem to recognize the charger anymore.
There are a few other weird things, though: I use the XenonHD ROM, and once or twice when the phone was unplugged the battery icon was still "moving" as if the phone was charging, but the graph said that it wasn't. This probably is just a bug, but maybe it meant something.
My best guess is that the micro USB port is broken, but maybe you guys can help me with this?
Just like you said, your usb port is broken, propably a short circuit somewhere. But changing the charging port flex ribbon is very easy, even for a first timer (like I was/did a couple of weeks ago)

And now the phone charges if it's turned off... but it's not like I can keep it like this, so I'll take to technical support tomorrow. Do you think I should flash the stock ROM and/or lock the bootloader?

Phone wont charge or turn on

I have a Verizon HTC One M8, and for the past weeks it was having trouble charging. I could tell the charging port was going bad. I tried everything I could with software. but nothing, but nothing helped it charge. Yesterday it completely stopped charging, and today the battery is completely drained and it wont even turn on, and plugging in a charger does nothing besides the red notification like blinking sometimes. I am going to get it replaced under warranty, but my problem is I have s-off, and TWRP, although as part of my attempts to get it working again I am running a stock rom. What are the chances that they will deny my warranty because of this? Will they even be able to find out with a completely dead charging port? Thanks for the help.
So this is really strange, but somehow I fixed my problem. I applied 20v through the micro usb port for about 20 minutes, and then put it on the normal charger. Now its charging completely fine. I am still going to flash back to stock and get a replacement though.
Maybe Battery is damaged or Dead!

G4 Not Powering On

Hello,
I have a friend who's G4 is having issues, she's getting a replacement phone soon but I'm trying to help her backup the photos that are on her phone. I'm currently in the middle east and she's in Boston.
The phone will sometimes start, get to the android screen then power off. I was able to get her to enter into recovery, but the phone said "not enough power." Now me, having a rooted phone (HTC One M8) this would be a simple fix but to her having a stock phone she's totally lost. Can anyone give me some tips to help her out?

I had a similar problem. My cord was "charging" and I quote charging because it was HARDLY charging. The cord had went bad and that was actually the stock LG cord which I had very LIGHTLY used for 2 months. Once I changed my cord the phone charged up again and I was able to turn it on. So have her try a new charger and cord and make sure it is over 1mah if possible so she doesn't get LG's infamous slow charging notification.

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium E6853 not charge

Hi dear friends, I have a little trouble with my Xperia, because after root the phone don't take charge anymore, and the PC doesn't recognize the phone, the only way to charge the phone, it's putting in bootloader mode, and the PC in bootloader mode It does not recognize it either, the person what I buy the phone says:
"my friend had sent it to Sony who replaced the USB Connector, as they thought maybe that could be the culprit. But obviously it seemed to be more of a software issue as the phone charges in fastboot or recovery mode, so it didn't fix it. Looking at it, they either didn't set the backplate correctly or a little bit off, or they didn't put enough adhesive. It's not an issue really, as all it takes is removing the backplate and resetting it back onto the phone or putting a little more adhesive. Or the phone is normally like this, I'm not entirely sure. But it's a fixable issue if you just remove the backplate and put it back on correctly.
I'm not entirely sure, I believe that it did take the charge before the rooting. I purchased the phone from a friend who knows nothing about repairing phones who rooted the phone and then it would not take the charge anymore. I bought it from him to fix it myself, but I just don't have the time any time soon to repair it hence why I'm selling it.
It only takes a charge when it's in fast boot or the recovery mode currently and it sometimes boots into TWRP Recovery Menu randomly and keeps on doing that, so the only way I figured to bypass that is to hold on the volume up button when turning on the phone until it shows powered by android (when it does the bootloop into twrp). I believe it is the software that is the issue and I'm pretty sure if a stock rom can be flashed onto it, then it'll be good as when you plug in a usb cable normally, it does recognize it for about a second or two, but then it cuts off.
So technically the phone does work with some work arounds, but I sold it as not working or for parts as technically the phone isn't functioning normally as well and has a few issues that can be annoying to the common person."
So This said the person that I bought the phone, and I don't know what do you think about this, If anyone knows what happened please let me know.
