[Q] FM Radio on Cyanogenmod? - Micromax Canvas A1

Is there any way to have FM Radio on (rooted) MMX Canvas A1 with CM11?
I tried Spirit app, but it doesn't seem to work.

have u got solution on this problem ???
if yess then plz replay

While this build is heavily optimized, it is also capable of pushing your phone much harder. CyanogenMod and it’s team hold no responsibility to any damage caused to your phone, loss of earnings as a result of damaging your phone or anything else that is connected to the development of this rom.

so I wouldn't install CyanogenMod. they can't even have responsibility of their own software.

Dear Surdu;
First, I'm sign in into this website just to tell you how I'm really appreciate your valuable time making custom ROM available on this P6 device. Now I'm downloading this custom ROM and try to test it.
Oh, BTW, i would like to draw your attention, regarding of GPS feature of this phone if using Custom ROM, I don't know if you happen to experienced it but since I'm installing OMNI ROM and also, since all your Custom ROM based on P6 original stock driver, a small modification need to be done at /etc/gnss/dproxy.conf by disabling GLONASS receiver, then my P6 is able to capture GPS signal flawlessly. I don't why.
BTW, 5-stars given for your effort making this P6 a wonderful device again :good::good:

Yes Surdu, I reading your posting regarding of GPS fix here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52499677&postcount=774
But since this TI GPS receiver consistently fail to capture both GPS and GLONASS signal, disabling GLONASS will ensure that GPS signal captured flawlessly.
Surdu, youre my Hero! :good:
Wifi
Everything perfect just one small problem wifi disconnects after some time I have to turn it off and switch it to be cleared.
network problem
I'm on Carbon 4.4.4 now, but I had network issue, like wifi and mobile data connection always gone.
please help, thanks.
Battary drain
Hi and thanks for a nice and fast rom!
I do also have a huge drain, something in the android system doesn't let the phone go to deep sleep.

CarbonROM P6
Been using the Rom for the last two days, no FC's, the rom is very smooth.. Thanks Surdu
Hello surdu. Thanks again for all the work you have put into development.
I do have a bug to report though.
When you press the multitasking button you can see a small line between the top of the screen and the recent apps. It looks like the top gradient doesn't cover it and starts underneath it.
Edit: There is also a small grey line in phone history between all and missed.
After a couple of days I have noticed a few more bugs, most radio related.
Wifi stops to respond after some time, a couple of hours maybe. Just deactivate /activate the Wifi fixes that for the moment.
The phone don't connect to the network after flight mode. Switching between 2G/3G fixes that.
Still have a big battery drain.
What is the * USB mass_storage ; Bug ?
Does USB mass_storage completely don't work?
And can I update to this ROM from the latest Paranoid Android Version ?
Thanks
Hi well I have some trouble with the zoom there is some way to quit it?
Hello,
i have one question. How to get app data to SD card? I have it on internal memory and now i have got very small capacity in internal storage. I try to use Link2SD and i says, i must do some partition Ext3. I tried to do it (i have 32GB SD card, i slit it to 20GB- data and 10GB ext3 to app data) and when i go to the Link2SD application, it says - App2SD isnt in you device supported. You advice me, please? Thanks!

IF you have some games with big obb files you may try an xposed module called "obb to sd" works fine for me.

very smooth rom
Got Trebuchet FC when tried to lock folder. Also have problem: WIFI doesn't on after Fly mode ON/OFF.
Carbon Rom
Greetings Surdu, I want to congratulate you for the great work you do, thanks to that I'm using this great rom, Carbon, I have a little problem with writing data to sd, i know is a restriction of google to external applications. I also know that with this ROM should not have such problems but I do. I can not receive or send pictures of whatsapp and I can not save pictures from facebook or another app; I wonder if there is any solution for this, I tried sd fix but to no avail. Thank you.
Wifi and bluetooth
First I want to thank surdu_petru for this excellent ROM.
I've tried many of them but for me this is one of the best.
I still have prblems with wifi loosing the internet connection. When i turn it off and on again it usually works.
Bluetooth doesn't work for me. The phone doesn't recognize my car bluetooth receiver. The same problem as in CM11.
Battery drain seems to be a little bit higher than on some 4.4.2 ROMs. I'm still watching this.
BT - Moto 360
Hi guys. I just instaled this nice Carbon rom (After CM11,OMNI,AOSPA) and i am trying to connect them to my Moto 360 SmartWatch. They find each other, i can pair them, but the watch cant connect to the phone to be useable :/ any hints guys? (even for switching Roms Android wear is a prior for me)
Thanks for you time!

Dude, seriously? If you don't see what's wrong with your question then you shouldn't be playing
with those things. Lot's of reading and learning must you do, hmmm?
Yoda
okay, slightly dickish answer sorry.
you need certain abilities enabled at the kernel/driver level for some of the things you want
to do. which maybe be as relatively simple as patching kernel source and rebuilding or may require
rev-eng'ing proprietary drivers/binaries additionally.
you may be better served to researched a device more naturally endowed with these capabilities,
alternately a device with usb-otg support so you can use a dongle device proven to be
capable of these tasks.
ommmm
So because i used custom rom, this apps does not working?
Head16 said:

sort of yes/no because the custom rom contains the software and the kernel is a custom build
it does not necessarily mean that your hardware is capable [meaning the device's capability, the kernel
having the necessary code and if there are proprietary/prebuilt source code unavailable/ binaries and firmware
support files which need to be hacked/engineered.
find out the device id of your wifi hardware and search it's id/name along with the function you are trying to perform.
for example
bcm4334 monitor mode
use the search engine that works for you, read carefully and fully and get yourself trained to follow trails of related/seemingly related
information, no matter how obscure.
good luck, may the schwartz be with you ! :silly:

[5.x.x][CM12+] Status of Lollipop and CM12.1 on the Lenovo A3/S6

You may be wondering why these devices haven't received Lollipop yet. The issue is, yet again, the MT8389 processor, which is based off of the MT6589.
I.nfraR.ed posted yesterday on the main CyanogenMod on MTK devices thread:
I.nfraR.ed said:
Do you see anyone working on CM for 6589? Most of the people moved to other chipsets.
Maybe chrmhoffmann and DerTeufel are still working on this, but I don't know anyone else who has not moved to newer device.
I have moved to Redmi Note 2.
For lollipop there's no mt6589 source and although it might be possible, it would be enormous amount of work. I don't have so much free time and have a full-time job after all.
I can't leave my regular job just to work on side projects.
So, no...unless someone else is on to development for Lenovo A820/A830, then don't expect fully working CM or ROMs based on Android 5+.
If for some reason I leave my regular job and have some "free" months, then I will be able to work on this project, because I still have my A820 with me. Not likely to happen.
My KK kernel is public, so anyone can continue from where I left.

Development support for the MT6589 has been (mostly) lost, and consequently, so has support for the MT8389. This means that, until a compatible kernel for 5.x.x appears, the likelihood of both of the devices being upgraded to CM12 or 5.x.x is very low.
That doesn't mean it's not possible, however; simply unlikely.
According to the specs the A3000 has a MT8125. Is support for this also gone?

Yes, I'm afraid this is the Wi-Fi only version of the MT8389.
I was on it..but moved to another..not at all able to boot it up..now there is a hope because of 3.4.67 kernel..again working on it???
CM12+ for A3000-H

Hi guys, I have just finished doing my A3300 with Cyan's 5.1.1, all is working except for camera

SW3 does not work with Cyanogen

I recently loaded CM12 on my LG G3 D850 (only variant without Android 6 )
Everything went well until I tried pairing my SW3 via NFC via Wear, not only does it not recognize it, it makes the harp noise of nfc contact but does nothing and then stays on a very bright stock firmware that never goes off...very silly ..so I have to shut it off everytime
Already frustrated that Android 6 wasnt available at the end of three frustrating days of my first attempt at a ROM, now I am ready to switch back to (yucccckkk!!) stock if no solution is available.
I also upgraded my gApps to stock from mini (and that wiped out a whole buncha stuff but thats another story) and tried software update (but CM has its own updater which said nothing to update)
Would appreciate any ideas from the experts here, thanks in advance !
The NFC on the SW3 currently only transmits a URL to the "Android Wear" app. in PlayStore.

I didnt get you; even with that functionality in NFC, the SW3 connects without an issue with stock firmware but not with CyanogenMod - any reason for this ?
Did you factory-reset the watch after flashing CM on the phone? You need to (AFAIK).
It works for me CM11 + SW3
Working here too with cm 12.1

I'm not entirely sure what you mean: NFC doesn't do much, definitely can't use it to pair the device; which device has a "very bright stock firmware?"
Did you factory reset the watch and set it back up with the new phone rom?

Are you waiting on Official CM13? There are much better alternatives to be had for the D850, and if your insistent on CM, Unofficial CM13 has been out for sometime.

Never used Orion, but used the RRemix MM Rom up until today on my D851. I assume it would be as reliable on the 850. I suspect you are only looking in "Original Development" instead of simply "Android Development" in the ATT G3 forums. Enjoy friend.

Will we have a Custom Marshmallow (Android 6.X.X) for Xperia ZL?

One of the best features of 6.0 is the SD use as domestic, I'm on my tablet and is very helpful. It comes to hardware, the Xperia ZL has power to spare to run the Marshmallow.
However, I saw nothing official and unofficial nothing yet, OmniRom being AOSP, CM13, Resurrection, Paranoid, Omega, Exodus, etc ... In other words, it seems that no one is working on it, which I think is a shame, such a good player.
But still have a glimmer of hope, someone knows something, it is planned, expectation of a Custom ROM?:good:

What great news!
Thank you very much!
A bad news, dev of CM12.1 likely gave ZL up.
He didn't update anything about kernel, libs, blobs, drivers or some device fix.
Even ZL hasn't had TWRP v3 yet...
Now we know all the Sony device facing camera issue.
Then no dev, no new rom. :crying:

As the maintainer of the Xperia ZL I do not know, but we continue to have in the Builds Nightlys:
https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=odin
And we already have the TWRP v3.0
https://dl.twrp.me/odin/
If I'm not mistaken, the Phill already updated the Dual recovery as well.
The problem of camera I do not know what it is, what happens? (I'm not using a lot).

Oh, I'm using TWP v3 now. Thank u for telling me! :highfive:
Though we are supported by CM, we can only get CM general update. We have several device/kernel issues, they won't be solved anymore unless there's someone continues to maintain the project and not only let it get cross-device updates of CM.
As I know, we have these issues:
1. HDR camera isn't here.
2. Live Display can't switch back to day mode from night mode in automatic.
3. Not smooth about graphic, my friend's HTC Butterfly is better.
4. The lowest brightness isn't the real lowest (1%), in fact it's about 20% of brightness.
5. I'm surprised that we use ondemand as our default governor…

I hope these can be solved in Resurrection Remix M.
I don't expect too much about CM12.1 now.
Even few people discuss about it…
