Please show me a picture or give me a clear description of the location of the GPS antenna or antenna leads. I think that mine may be defective or sub par and would like to do some modding. [emoji4]

does anyone know the 'official' name of this type of GSM connector?
the picture is here: tinyurl.com/yga76ot
(sorry, but I can't paste any links in this message)
I would like to buy external GSM antenna, but I don't know what is the name of this connector / connection.
thanks in advance for any suggestions.
btw, did anyone try to instal any external wifi antenna / wifi antenna connection?
regards!
Hi,
I've never tried any external antenna.
I've found the inbuild antenna's to be sufficient, sorry.
You can google for it or for instance have a look at:
expansys-usa.com/d.aspx?i=147380
BTW: Your photo shows the 'left' external antenna connector.
This is not the external GPS antenna connector!
You need the 'right' one for this purpose , labelled GPS.
Goodluck

I accidentally bricked my new Rhod500 and bought heavy-used Rhod210 on eBay for parts. I replaced the motherboard, but the problem was with antenna pins, that are slightly different. I soldered wire (2) instead of one antenna and adjusted pins for second antenna (1). The GSM now works, but not the GPS. Probably, I did something wrong. Does anybody knows which one of these is GPS antenna? Thanks!

I figured out, (1) is GSM antenna and (2) is GPS. Everything works now, please close the thread.
there appears to be a third antenna at the bottom of the phone. what one is that? i would have put money on that being the gps.
Indeed. Maybe CDMA? One thing I know for sure, my GPS doesn't work if I cut yellow wire (2) or change its length.

Does the phone have a separate WiFi antenna?

i forgot about wifi. thats probably it. i also forgot about bluetooth. no clue where that is. meh.
sTUPID QUESTION.....
IS the black vinyl like sticker on the back of the phone part of the actual antenna?
I ripped mine off, and now GPS no longer works.
Hi, you mind to make it briefly probable with more details picture as i open it to solve the no sim card problem and now the gps not work.
i might have remove some weld wire or what...
mind to show me details picture how the gps wire goes around?
htc sucks....1 year and all gone
A black sticker at the bottom is bluetooth antenna.
I acquired a broken touchscreen Tilt2 and repaired. All worked well until attempting Wi-Fi - signal very very poor Only a 1-2 bars in same room as router and almost nothing between walls. The wifi antenna is located on the cover below the keyboard. You need to take the four small torx screws out and use a non-marring pry tool to lift cover off (better directions elsewhere). There are two tabs that contact PCB - they were not making contact at all. There is a little slot in the case next to the USB connector .... looks like on mine someone else may have inserted something in the this slot (maybe the micro SD card?). I replaced the screen without full case assembly, the rear cover void stickers were still intact so I know it didn't happen from my or another's dis-assembly. I bent the tabs (carefully as I read they break easy) reassembled and now get excellent reception FYI under the top speaker assembly is two other antennas for Cell Radio and GPS with the same type contacts if having problems with either of those. Hope this helps out someone, saw a lot of similar wi-fi problems in the posts but not much on location/repair of antenna. Good Luck!
Hi,
When tearing down the phone to replace the front bezel, I have managed to disconnect the GPS antenna from its connector.
As the connector and cable are both very small, i'm unsure if I can repair it. I can also find no information online regarding the type of cable, and connector. it looks like a very small coaxial cable, complete with shielding.
I also looked online for a replacement GPS module for the phone, but cannot find any information as to what GPS module and antenna is in the phone, or source replacement parts.
i was wondering if anyone had experienced the same problems? If anyone can offer tips / advice on :
* how to either repair the antenna
* any technical information for the gps antenna / module part numbers manufacturers etc
* any resources that stock this gps module and antenna.
if anyone happens to have spare parts lying around, I am more than happy to pay for the GPS module / antenna if you can part with it
Thanks for your help
Allan
Anyone know where the GPS antenna is located on the back? I can't seem to find a diagram of it, and iFixIt doesn't cover it.
My GPS stopped working and nothing locks. I have the WiFi model.
Thanks

I have the precise GPS antenna connector's location only for the LTE model, but for the WiFi version we have to assume that the three connectors are used for WiFi, BT and GPS - there is simply no other possibility as WC and NFC are elsewhere.
