I got a quick circle case today abs was wondering what Roms supported it or is there anyway to make a ROM support it? I have the PAC man ROM currently.
For best support use stock based ROMs.
Yeah but stock ROM kills battery a lot that's why I was wondering if there is a way to add it to Roms or do only certain Roms support it
As far as I know only LG Roms support it. It should be possible to port the framework to AOSP but i guess this would be a ton of work and needs the experience of a good dev( i guess ?).
This is the feature which keeps me on stock rom. It would be so cool if some dev could port it.

Hey guys I was wondering if its possible to port the camera from stock ROM to aosp. I'm a huge camera user and camera quality for me is important. I did notice that the aosp camera really sucks compared to stock ROM. So is it possible?
Impossible.
yes it is possible but no one is going to do it because it requires other files in conjunction with the camera apk. and even more work to get it running on aosp roms
I was also looking for a way to do this but already knew it was unlikely.

I would agree with OP that the stock camera on TW is the best.
It's fast and seems to be more clear.
However, I don't think that devs are willing to put out extra time on porting something so difficult.
Running ParanoidKangDroid v.2.30 ROM. I'd like to have the hand gestures that come with TouchWiz. Is there a possible way to have this on my ROM?

you should try to keep all your questions in 1 post. you'll actually get better help that way.
you are on an AOSP rom. you want TW features which are woven into the stock firmware's framework. its essentially a choice: a few TW features vs custom AOSP optimizations. both can share some similar customizations, but not everything is interchangeable.
Any of the feature on TW WILL NOT WORK ON ANYTHING BESIDES TW.....
None!
They're dependant on touchwiz and won't work on anything else.

As long as source code for TW stays unreleased its impossible to port. That's why no devs bother to try and port. Its going in blindfolded. Same with Sense and other UI overlays. So when Samsung releases source code it'll be possible.

What features exactly? There's apps like Wave Control that do similar things...
Ya, there are a lot of apps that allow TouchWiz like features. There is a MMS apk for AOSP roms that has the while in messaging put phone to ear for Direct Dial. Just search in the playstore TouchWiz or galaxy s III things like that.

Well for that particular feature, I recently discovered that Liquidsmooth (and quite possibly CM, as well as JellyBam and others) have this feature in the settings for the stock messaging application. It's the last setting, labelled as "Direct Dial", but it's pretty inconsistent with the auto-dialing. I've noticed that when I'm laying down and attempt to call it won't work because if I put the phone to my ear the screen just flips to landscape view, and stays on. When I'm up right it tends to work, however I haven't had many opportunities to test this out yet.
That would be sweet if someone got two working with aosp, they need to release the code...
Hi, I am new to android world, i used apple before and was quite good at jailbreaking and stuff, but it has a lot less options than android. so i switched to samsung galaxy s3 gt- I9300
I rooted my phone, and made a clockworkmod recovery... i think its a backup.. and then i installed custom roms liquidsmooth, and paranoidandroid. both havinig base firmware as 4.1.2... But then again i switched back to Stock because i dint like the all black and blue stuff in all the custom roms, though i appreciate the options that have been added, its like having a feeling of me controlling my cell rather than the company who made it. but i dont really liked the blue wifi icon and battery icon and all the other radio buttons in blue... so
my question is
1. Can i have the custom rom i.e liquid smooth or any other with the UI as the stock one?
2. or is there a package or a theme that would change the layout of my custom rom to the stock layout ( by layout i mean all the colours and the stuff) but wont affect the options that developers have put in the custom roms.??
I would really appreciate your help.. and really sorry if i said something wrong. coz i am new to android. thnx alot in advance
OK I just need to clarify something.
There are;
Samsung Touchwiz based Custom ROMs (Stock)
AOSP based Custom ROMs (AOKP, CyanogenMod, ParanoidAndroid etc)
So when you say custom ROM, you don't necessarily mean what you think you mean.
What I *THINK* you are asking is:
I want to use AOSP based custom ROMs but i don't like the look of them. Are there any themes to make AOSP based custom ROMs look like Samsung Touchwiz?
is that correct?
Unfortunately I have not seen any themes that do this. Almost everyone who wants to put a theme on a Samsung TouchWiz ROM, wants it to look like AOSP (which I think is the opposite of what you want?) Most of us dislike the Samsung colours. We feel they look a bit childish. This isn't a judgement of you. I am just explaining why we don't see many themes like what you are asking for.

Well cyanogen mod has a few themes in the play store that resemble the stock ui. I have used them and I still believe they are free. But I am like most others where I like the aosp look over the stock tw ui

@Fahad, I totally agree with you, I too find touchwiz very elegant compared to other launchers..I hate the look of the dialer that comes with aosp and cm...thats why I only hunt stock based custom roms

I really liked the jellybam rom I was using but I wanted the multi Window feature. I switched to Jedi X which is touch wiz based to get the multi Window feature. I just hate touchwiz so I'm probably switching back. Just wondering if any other roms have multi Window feature so I could get the best of both worlds.
Thanks!

The so called bugs you state are only in custom roms that have ported N3 and S5 features. If you want to flash a custom note II 4.4.2 with few tweaks then they are almost flawless. Also I've tried few custom roms with ported n3 and s5 features are 99% bug free.I agree sometimes porting features does break something else but that's what rooting and custom roms are all about. It's trial and error. In the end it comes down what each user prefers.I personally keep switching between 4.4.2 ROM which is heavily modded with S5 and Note 3 features but when i get bored of the heavy customizations I switch to 4.4.2 stock note 2 custom ROM. At times I even switch to AOSP ROM just to get away from touchwiz.XDA is all about preference and the user will get whatever he wishes on here.
I can't stand touchwiz messaging ui, i was wondering if i could just have the standard AOSP one in phantom rom? Any ideas? Also i can't stand the touchwiz widget for microsoft exchange, the standard Android or CM one is far more superior. I don't like merging all my email and messaging into one.
