I ve been noticing this weird problem that when i update apps, it just downloads the whole app all over again. For eg; if the app is of 25 mb, it downloads whole 25 mb while its supposed to download only the updated data like 5 mb. Has anyone else noticed this problem? Any help would be much appreciated.

That's how Google does it.
Play Store downloads the complete app most of the cases.
This is not a weird issue
not a Google issue, but stock ROM bug.

Yes you are right it is a stock rom bug other android devices don't update apps on such a way!! So I am using cyanogenmod 12.1 which minimizes all problems you are facing in stock. And it also has more many other capabilities which you won't get in stock!!:angel:

Yea, me too. I'm also puzzled as well since we both have the same version i9100M from Canada but his got updated to the new market but mine hasn't. Hopefully someone here has a trick to make it autoupdate.
I deleted market data and cache and after a few minutes it got updated by itself, but the latest version is laggy and buggy, prompts you for updates when there are no updates and updates your apps couple of times to the same version. I got back to the older version, faster and more stable.

I have a SGS2 whereas my wife has SGS1. I didn't receive the market update so far, but she did. I have no idea the reason for that, but I liked the new layout (although I think that improvements can, and should, be made), and at least on her phone it seems that it doesn't lag at all.
Lets wait, or wipe the cache, as said above.
Or search xda and there's a download for the new 3.1.x build.

Is it possible to update market if not rooted & on the stock rom? I have 2.3.6 market & on stock 2.3.3. I tried to clear the data & cache but that doesn't update the market, still on 2.3.6.

I am in the UK and my Market hasn't updated.. and I guess I am better that way as lot of people seem to be complaining about the new layout and stuff ( on unofficial 2.3.4 not rooted)

After being on the new market for a long time I went back to 2.3.6 because that actually works! The new one was so extremely laggy and unresponsive.
Did like the looks but the speed of the original/old one makes up for it.

Been on 3.1.3 for a while, just deleted data today for the Market App and it changed to 3.1.5
New market is really slow on my Dlink router until I changed to a Linksys. Both with same settings. New market has bugs where it won't load nor install apps.

Yup, 3.1.5 here too after deleting data. But no improvements or changes, still laggy when using phone data, pretty decent on wi-fi though.

I'm using Note II running on Stock JB 4.1.2 XXDMB2 (Rooted) & Simplistic Framework 3.5.1 Flashed.
Every time I try to update any App in the Google Play Store, let it be 1MB or 100MB the entire size of the App always gets downloaded rather than the partial updates Google had introduced. This had started happening recently, I'm not sure why Play Store App updates are behaving like Pre Android 2.2. Anyways my Play Store Build version is 3.10.14. Anyone who knows why this is happening on my phone can you please explain it to me?

No, I'm very sure these partial updates used to work fine couple of days ago, if there is a new update for an app of size 23MB but if the updates are for 2MB then only the 2MB will get downloaded and the App will be updated to the latest version but recently all I'm getting are the full updates its kinda annoying after getting used to the partial updates. Anyone have any idea why?

I used to experience fc on some games when I was using official miui.
I have not experience any fc apps on custom roms though, maybe you could specify the rom you are using and the app(s) that are force closing.

I had fc on stock rom as well, on one particular game, linezeta. I didnt manage to solve it, which lead me to change rom and no more fc. If you insist on staying on miui, try installing a "lite" miui without some of its heavy features, i didnt experience any fc on lite miui roms. I suspect it has got to do with the ram management.
You can try greenify or freezing some system apps. Best would be to switch to a lite miui rom or any custom rom here, currently using mokee and loving it.

Firstly i must warn you, i am not verse in chinese, and i cant remember exactly which rom i downloaded, i just google translate the pages and was very careful. So likewise, if you gonna download and flash, it is your responsibility to read/study it thoroughly before flashing.

But i must suggest you try the custom roms here, they are pretty solid imo. Abit miss and hit here and there, but nothing cant be fix wit a little mod and 3rd party apps on playstore.

If updating the system is not an option for you, I would try doing an update though the Google Play Store. (Assuming you have it on your phone)
It's not possible to get the google play store to work on the Fire Phone on 3.6.6 unfortunately.
I'll see if I can do it through 1mobile. Thanks for the suggestion!

Don't trust 1mobile!! I downloaded the BBM apk and had it scanned with the NVISO APK scanner and it showed it as suspicious. It detected 1mobile entries within its code.
It worked through 1mobile, updated fine and now works fine too.
I've not had any issues with 1mobile to be honest, I always make sure it's from the play store

Can't you just update to 3.6.8 and install the play store...or download what's app from the website, it updates without the need for a play store
Maybe downgrade is possible at 3.6.6 (somebody else downgrade to 3.6.2 without problems)
If thats possible you maybe can root your phone with downgrade to 3.5, too! With root you're able to install google services etc properly.
The app, even the latest version from google play doesn't work ? it won't even let me start it. I can't upgrade to 3.6.8 as that bin is not available, and a downgrade won't be possible because it's a UK device and not US. It launched here with 3.6.2.
That was me btw that managed the downgrade ?
I can only wait to see what happens. Something needs to be done by whatsapp or Amazon, other people have complained about it too on the Appstore. It might suggest an update is imminent?

i'm on 3.6.8 and the same issue happened to me with whatsapp, for the heck of it, i've even mayday with amazon tech support to try resolving the update loop. They were not able to resolve it but mentioned that they will write to the dev. I have downloaded whatapps from google playstore instead and it worked for me.
