[Q] Lockscreen On / Off while QI charging. - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Yesterday I've got the OTA to 20E for my D855.
Now I have a annoying problem.
Last night i left my G3 on the Original LG QI Charger (which i'm using since i've got my G3.
In the middle of the night i observed a strange behavior.
The G3 turns on displaying the Lockscreen... after about 5-10seconds the screen turns off... then it takes about 30-60 seconds the procedure starts over...
So the screen goes on .. off .. on .. off .. and so on.
The same behavior happens on another QI Charger.
Without the charger this behavior stopps.
I think this bevavior starts when the battery is full.
Has anyone else seen this behavoir or has a solution to turn this off?

Yeah cause the QI power is low so it start charging for 10'' then stops, the screen is on,then start, the screen goes off, then stop...etc etc etc!!

But before 20E (Android 5.0 I didn't have this behavior).
So there must be something wrong.

I am getting this as well, same charger as before android 5.0 update

It's an annoying bug that's been in all the G3 lollipop builds so far, I posted about it a while back: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/help/lollipop-v20a-wireless-charging-textra-t2935987
I've been pestering LG UK via twitter to fix it, maybe if more of us contact LG in our countries it will get fixed?

@PsychoMania Thank you for your feedback. Since this issue is widly spread I've sent LG a message on the LG Service Page for Switzerland.
I'm curious to see if and when they will answer...

[Q] problem with wireless charging

I bought an LG G3 and i'm trying out wireless charging with a Qi-charger. The charging works perfectly, but when my battery is at 100% my screen lights up. After a few seconds the screen goes out again and lights up again ( as if it is starting to charge again, although my battery is still at 100%). This goes on and on... This is really annoying because i charge while sleeping and it awakens me.
Does anyone have the same problem? Is there a way to fix this? tnx
There's an Xposed module, if you're rooted...

T-Mobile D851 LG G3 - Turned off on its own, will not turn on or charge

Hello All,
I have a problem that occurred a few days ago with my LG G3 (apx. 6 months old). My phone has been running fine and out of nowhere, my phone turned off and I couldn't turn it back on. Initially, I thought that the battery may have died because I was using a golf app that utilized gps, but my phone was at a 100% 20 min prior to it turning off. When I got to my car, I plugged it into the charger, but I didn't see the charging light and it still wouldn't turn on. When I got home, I plugged it into the OEM charger for about two hours without any success (the phone felt warm similar to when I charge my phone). I've long pressed the power button, tried the power and lower volume button to hard reboot without any success. I bought this through the t-mobile site like my previous phones through their New2U certified refurbished program which comes with a 90 day warranty (expired).
Has anyone experienced a similar issue and if so, what did you do to correct the issue because T-Mobile referred me to LG so that they can direct me to an authorized retailer. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Note: the phone is in great condition.
Thanks
Have you tried removing the battery, holding down the power button until any residual current is discharged, reinserting the battery, then plugging back in the OEM wall charger?

Did you try to go into download mode? Remove battery plug it back in. hold Volume up and plug usb cable. Are you in download mode?
Any word? Does your pc detect it? Kinda in the same limbo... ?

turning off on its own might be due to overheating

G4 Intl. Charging issues

Hey guys,
first of - sorry if this is oftopic.
I notice heavy charging issues on my g4 intl. The phone just won't charge probably.
I'm running on the latest cyanogenmod nightly, everything else works fine.
Cyanogen says "slow charging" even when I plug in the original cable, or a quick charge wallplug. With all micro USB cables everything is fine for a week or two, but after that everything repeats again.
It seems like the phone cuts down the input power to 300 milli amps or so, while "charging" the battery percentage is going down sometimes, too.
When the phone is off and plugged in, the charging is slow too.
But sometimes everything is fine for a charge or two.
Does anyone have the same issue or have a solution?
Greetings from germany
Okay I found some guys talking about this here, but is there any final solution for this?

It happens to me too, stock ROM, cm13, aosp, no difference.
I have tried changing USB cable (only cable) and device begin charging normally again.
I don't think it's something software related..
But if you have already tried with another charger and problem is still there..
I'm really frustrated. I don't know what is happening to my g4, since 2 month's I noticed heavy red screen ghosting, too. The phone was already repaired once from lg, there the problem was that it won't boot up anymore.. Next time I won't buy lg..

I got problems with display too..
Both lateral sides are brighter than the rest of the screen.
Especially with dark images it is absolutely horrible.
Will never ever buy LG anymore.
same problem here with the ghosting and the super slow charge some times battery goes down even while plugged to original charger, had a G2 before this, love the phone was almost flawless, this one I had it for almost a year now, piece of **** full of problems, now after the lates OTA the unlocking is retardedly slow, I double tap for unlocking the screen wakes up but dimmed and unresponsive and after a second it fully wakes up, I'm so frustrated with this piece of ****, the only good thing is the camera. Btw regarding the slow charging problem, I tried with different batteries and chargers and same results (I'm fully stock, no root no nothing)

LG G3 D851 won't turn on!

Hey everyone,
I was using facebook while my G3 was charging and it suddenly turned off and since then it's not turning on. I've tried everything I could but unfortunately nothing has helped. There is no display and it seems like my phone is dead. A positive note is, when I put it on charge, display comes for just 2-3 seconds and it shows the phone is charging but then it disappears too and nothing happens. One of the repairman suggests that it's motherboard is not working anymore but to this I disagree cause if that was the case, the phone won't show a display even for a second? Please if anyone could help me. Thanks!
DId you try leaving the phone on a charger for a few hours? Maybe the phone needs a new battery?
Yeah I've tried 3-4 new batteries too, still it doesn't work. But one thing that's happening now is my phone is turning on, but it reboots (or turns off sometimes) when reaches the home screen or just before that. Same is happening when I enter into download mode.

Tablet is dead. Disassemled it and the battery is ok. What could have gone wrong?

HI! Mi mums old tablet finally kicked the bucket and I've already ordered a new one (Mi Pad 4), but I opened it to see if the tablet would boot without battery and it didn't and actually the battery is perfectly fine giving a value of 4,2V, so it's fully charged with a nominal value.
The symptoms before death were:
- Seemingly random shutdowns, once happened to me while I was trying to install an app from the store.
- When the tablet automatically shuts down, pluging it to the charger blinked the LG logo for a second or two.
- After a while, a charging screen appears with the battery at 0% and after a while it starts to rapidly increase that percentage, like it suddenly realised that the battery already had a charge.
Now, though, it doesn't react to anything at all. The CPU heat shield gets mildly warm when the battery is unplugged.
Should I give up or do you know how could I revive it? It would make for a nice secondary tablet for the kitchen or the bathroom.
Thanks!

I have the exact same issue. Haven't opened it yet though. Let's hope someone knows what is going on.
From the moment I plug in the charger, it keeps showing the lg logo for a few seconds, turning off, lg logo again, repeat...

Yup! That sound about the same. But I don't have much hopes left for little gpad-chan.
F.
I fixed mine! So, I convinced myself opening it up was the only solution. Then I noticed that 2 connectors were disconnected, one completely and the other was just barely touching the contacts. The other thing I did was changing the usb charging cable, but I don't know if that did anything.
My suggestion is to check all connectors. Good luck!
