[Q] Spoof GPS without Allow Mock Locations without root - Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there anyway to spoof gps without using allow mock locations and without root?
Thanks!

As of right now, no....I've tried it. But, good question though.

Thread moved to Q&A where it should have been posted originally.

I haven't tried it but the little reading I did about it implies that in order to spoof without checking "allow mock locations", you must move the apk to system/apps... In order to move the apk to system/apps you must have root priveleges. Unless I am wrong.
Question remains. Anyone else know if this can be done?

I hope you guys don't play ingress.

[Q] Sprint hotspot app?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I really didnt want to start a new thread about this but I've received no help in the chat room and cant find an answer in Q&A. so... My problem is, Im trying to freeze sprint hotspot and cant find it when I search for it in the bloat freezer app. I tried freezing random sprint apps to see if that would work and nada. so if ANYONE has frozen this app already or knows where to find it/change file name in root explorer/ delete it. please let me know! Thanks in advance. Rude_Jude.
I think its actually buikt into the framework
I have searched many times for the app so i could remove it and never found it
Also the hitspot hack uses modifies framework so it kinda makes sense

Its in the settings.apk, it can be removed, but not easily.

So, I should or shouldnt remove it? And if I should, can you, chris41g tell me what file name its under or tell me how to find it? Please??
Chris already told you where it's located. It's built into the Settings.apk - unless you've messed with Android before I wouldn't touch it.
Do you just not want it because you don't have tethering in your plan or what? Just wondering since most people want it and there's a fix in the Dev section so you can use the wireless hotspot app.
I realize he told me its in the settings apk... But there are layers upon layers to look through. I already have teather so I dont need hotspot. I just want to stop any apps from automatically running. What would hot spot do for me that teather doesn't already do?

its not a simple edit, you can remove it from the xml file and the icon goes away, but its hard to get it compiled back, because it uses that xml for a signature

Infrastructure. It can be used in access point mode (AP) - the other tether apps can't. A lot of things can only connect to an access point - like the PS3, XBOX, tablets, so on. On the plus side, the Google wireless tether app can use 4G, the Sprint one can't right now unless you actually pay for it.

FireTV Uverse App "device is not secure" nag...

AT&T has finally released a FireTV Uverse app (seems to be a lot better then the PlayStore Uverse App), but like other apps it comes with a root checker that blocks video playback.
It gives the following error, “Playback not allowed because device is not secure”
I know others have come across this problem with other apps that do the same root check. Has anybody found any workaround for this ???
I know there are some "hide root" kind of apps on the PlayStore but I am not sure which would be best for a FireTV. Or if they even work at all.
Any info would be appreciated... ty
You could use hide root applications ex. Rootcloak, hide my root, etc. But ultimately unless the actual application is modified to hide root detection in code your chances are slim to non basically. On xda I've seen certain applications that were modified to work with root ex. Time Warner. But then the developer pushes a force update. Also developer can write new code to make sure app hasn't been tampered. Hope that helps.

Right, Was just wondering if anybody had tested out the hide my root type apps on a FireTV already. Seems most of them have not been updated in a long while.
did you get a solution for this? thanks.

Sorry but since I refuse to un-Root any of my 1st Gen FireTV's the only solution I found was to purchase some FireTV Stick's when they are on special ($25) & connect that to a separate HDMI port to use for Uverse & or any other App that wont work correctly on a Rooted device...
Another option would be to Display Mirror the Uverse App from a phone or tablet to your FireTV.

GPS Mod....ie fake gps location root

Hi All,
I am playing this GPS based game and would like to try something. Anyone have a good recommendation on a app that can fake GPS on games? root app would be awesome since the system is already rooted. One that actually works would be great.
any recommendations?
Use mock location?

Location Spoofer.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.ajeje.fakelocation
I think you need to activate Fake Locations in Developer Options
Haven't tried it on the 10 yet.
I tried a few apps from the app store, i did enable mock locations. However when i launch the game it says unable to determine GPS location. I did change the accuracy mode to see if that has any effects. Any ideas or suggestions?
Well maybe the app checks if mock locations are activated and blocks it?

Is there any way to get apps like DraftKings Sportsbook to work with Magisk installed

I have Magisk hidden from the app, but it won't verify my location due to it being installed (so clearly hiding it is either not working or not enough) and since sports betting apps have to verify your location for legality, it makes the app useless. Has anyone gotten these apps to live in harmony or do I have to resign myself to having to choose between apps working or having control over my phone?
ive not heard of anyone being able to get round this problem. I doubt you are alone as there are hundreds of people on reddit and other sites complaining about how bad the app is and using fanduel or betmgm instead -

I don't think that works either.. I stock rom on OP9 pro with bootloader unlocked and app works. It sees something else. It might be problem combined with something else that trips the geolocation.

edit: I fixed it by transfer settings from another Fold4 via smart switch.

Just wondering why when you reenabled it it didn't work. A lot of people on here are using an app to disable services that you need a PC and your phone to work. I have disabled 20 or so services that I don't use but if I ever need them I can just reenable them with the app and have done so on occasion. Never the less I'm glad you got it straightened out.

I came on here to look for exactly this. Do you mind sharing what it is? I can't stand not being able to disable services and apps I don't use.

It's a paid app that's not in the Play Store. I've used it on my Note 10, Note 20 and Fold 4 with no issues.
