Keep or Change - Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, 10.1, 8.4 Q&A, Help & Trouble

I know I'm late to the game but just picked up a Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 and thinking about sending it back for an Asus TF 701. Price and specs are about the same except for no USB port on the Asus unless I buy the keyboard which has low reviews from what I've read. Just wondering if one had an advantage over the other as far as rooting and roming. I see Phils and TWRP for the Galaxy along with a couple of debloated and rooted roms but looks like there's a few more options for the Asus but I have to unlock the bootloader. Just looking for ideas or suggestions. Thanks. Also looking at the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9.

[Q] N2Aos

Has anyone else seen or tried this OS for Kindle Fire HDs? Seems to be based on Cyanogenmod, but you pay for the installer and support. Was wondering how this compared to Hashcode's version?
N2Aos
I was using my faithful, trusty rooted Nexus 7 for the past year, but really needed a bigger screen. Was given a used fire hd 8.9. Hated it.
Decided to give N2Aos a try. Twenty minutes and twenty dollars later, I drove away in a new, pure android tablet powered by Cyanogen 10.1
and I never had to touch the tablet during the process. It was all done remotely.
That was approx 6 wks ago and still running like new. One caveat though, some launchers have weird glitches in landscape mode, but work ok in portrait. A coding problem of some kind. Other than that, it's perfect.

Nope, never tried it. My tablet is customization as it is with CM 10.2 kernel. I put on it what I want and remove what I don't. This might work well for those that don't want to fool around with modding their tablets themselves, fair enough. But seems like a waste of money for those capable of doing it themselves.

[Q] Galaxy Note 2 Custom rom with Wacom

Hello all,
I've recently ordered a Galaxy Note II from Three (the description was vague so idk if LTE version or not) and I was wondering what a good custom rom would be so that I could still use the Wacom technology in it and have a functioning S-Pen, I was also wondering if there was any mods or apps that would allow me to use my Note as a graphics tablet for my PC which would be pretty cool.
But in your opinion, what is the best custom rom for the N7000 and N7150
thanks
Also I'd like to know an app so I can use my phone as a graphics tablet.
I seen some but is there a way to configure any of them so if I put my SPen at the top right of the phone it'll go to the top right of the screen on my laptop, if you know what I'm trying to say, so the position of the mouse on the screen is relative to the position of the pen on the phone, like most graphics tablets work.

Please helpppppppppp!

just asking a dumb question but, did you reboot? if that didnt work, you might have to flash stock and start all over, maybe you could try a factory reset from recovery. but remember both ways you could lose your apps and data on your sd cards so maybe if you can hook up to computer and copy stuff off tab before trying anything. good luck!
I will try to flash stock firmware tonight(in IRAN).. I think it is the only remaining!:fingers-crossed:
The seller offered me a replacement my T211(16 GB)gave me a new ASUS memo pad 7 HD+ a 32GB SD card..Do I change my device to ASUS or no if my device wouldn't fix? Is it good deal?
Yes, ASUS is more up to date with the updates than Samsung
(my opinion)

Whilst the MeMo Pad HD 7 is generally better than the Tab 3 7.0, better screen & good set of loud speakers for a start, it'll probably be stuck on 4.2.2 for it's remaining life, no wide support for custom ROMs either, 1 or 2 are kicking about based on stock ROMs and a early alpha CM10.1 build was underway, not sure of it's status now, it is very unlikely to get KitKat at this stage, no word at all from ASUS, last update was backend of 2013, 4.1 to 4.2, they've probably silently dropped support.
Still I like to be proved wrong :fingers-crossed:
Anyway it's a good device, easily rooted, I own one.
a lot of games use non compliant hacks to gain performance. They can corrupt your system in some cases. I would restore the OEM firmware with ODIN or from a backup and consider not using the game.
True! On paper more features of ASUS is better than tab 3.7 but. don't forget...Samsung has something that people usually don't see!! as better body quality(even chrome band around body) or stereo mic or dual WIFI band or net speed or ....against a cheap plastic body like toy!!
I like my device so much and it is hard for me to change it! Despite CPU and IPS display of memopad 7 HD is better clearly!
Hi DigitalMD
So it is better that I flash stock firmware via ODIN?
maybe..it is the latest way for me

4.2.2 JB needed for offline marine navigation.

I have the VZN LG G3 unlocked, rooted, w TWRP and no bloat and I'm loving it, so I thought I would look into the G pad 10".
I would be using it among other things quite often for marine GPS navigation and upgrading my 7" to a 10" at a reasonable price $249. The issue I have is that with Android 4.4.2 Navionics then makes you switch to a new app with subscription services built in and it's ridiculous that I can't use my maps on the new app and my paid version (old) app force closes and is a know complaint and everyone is pissed about it in the sailing world, so I need to find a Tablet that is or will downgrade to 4.2.2 JB which is completely fine with me. What are your thoughts, I'd rather not go to a samsung tab 3, but I'm not sure I can get the G pad to 4.2.2. with what seems like so little going on e.g. only 2 roms in the dev section.
What do you guys think?

No way u will run JB on this device... Would be avery hacky process i think.
Look for g pad 8.3 or buy something like a bq edison. Something running 4.2.2 out of the box

New Fire HD 8.9 LTE- is there a funcitoning AOSP LTE rom?

So I got a deal on the Fire 8.9 LTE on Woot, bought one for my mom for Christmas, since she's been wanting an LTE tablet so she can look at maps "on a big screen!" that she can't currently see on her phone.
Part of me just wants to leave it stock and not mess with it, but I know she'll get frustrated by the Amazon ads & clunky interface. I was hoping to install Cyanogenmod or something a little more stock Android-ish, but everything I've read so far is that none of them support LTE, which is the main feature my mom needs to be able to use. Something about an old 10.1 CM build was mentioned in some threads, but it looks abandoned and buggy.
So is there any daily-driver worthy ROM that has functional LTE? Or should I try to go with rooting the stock image, or just leave it alone? Thanks!
