Andriod Meets Ubuntu. Theme for G1, based on Ubuntu Linux.
Thanks to Stericson for all his help. Without him, this would not be possible. We were together able to figure out how to change fonts and resize fonts. Also thanks to him for supplying the empty update.zip file.
Instructions: rename to update.zip and rest same as everyother theme.

my final release will not change your fonts. if you guys want my changed version, you'll have to pm me.
Warning - might brick your phone. has been tested on jf 1.31. recommend to have dev bootloader installed just in case.
will post small updates from time to time.
This is the final version for this theme. Time to move on now
awe man, the distortion icons! I love those, I had downloaded them and thought about using them in a theme, they look good
Hey! How did you edit the font for the clock?
very nice work~
Any chance of an ADP1 version?
That looks really good. Is the notification bar transparent as well?
MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is great! love the boot scrren, the ubuntu symbol when you input the password. this is an amanzing themre! Great job!
REAL NICEEEE thnxxxxxxxxx
Theres something wrong with this theme. Once you install it, its like the font stays on the phone. I uninstalled this theme and installed two other ones to be sure, and the font remained the same! i also had trouble browsing through pictures and the name of some of my applications was "....."............???? =/ in order to fix the phone i had to reinstall RC30 which made me reinstall all my apps..big pain in the butt!
Awww... I was planning on doing a Tango theme for Android so it looked more like the default Ubuntu (or any GNOME distro for that matter) installation... It would look significantly different, so I'll probably make it anyways, but...
looks like he renamed the font he is using to the font the G1 uses droidsans.ttf and droidsans-bold.ttf reinstalling a new theme unless it has custom font will not change it back to change it back you will have to reinstall jf rc30 or push the font back.I could be way off but that is how it looks to me. stericson if you read this can you add the original font to your original theme thx
Kron2 is correct. Thats how i did it, anyway for anyone who wants to go back to default fonts, i'll post an update with default font.
yo yo yo, get us the hook up with an ADP1 version if you don't mind. do you have a donation bucket?
theme is nice, especially the change in the unlock pattern, how did you change it? Would throttlelauncher be a source to these new patterns? If so how do you apply them?
Could we see further support/development for unlock patterns?
There will be an update sometime jan 13 or 14. my school started and dont have enough time to work on the theme anymore. I will still be working on it but not as much as before. Also major update this weekend.
ADP version coming this weekend

Done!
But I added it seperately. Just in case some people want to change themes but keep fonts or change fonts but keep themes.

The Best!
I just wanted to say that after trying most of these themes the past couple of days (the ones that worked), this by far is the best looking and most complete. You have outdone yourself.

Hey, can you post the default font update again?
wergeld
I'm themeing the clock on my lock screen. I can't figure out how to change the font though. I know it's one of the xml's in the framework. Any advice would be great. Thanks.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
You can use the application mClock. it's free and you can change the font of your clock easily.
You can find XML generator for mClock on google.
Specify the name of your font.
After paste your font file in /sdcard/Fonts/
If it doesn't exist you can create it.
Enjoy !
ORIGINAL JELLYBEAN FONT MODDED FOR REGULAR/BOLD
ONLY FOR ICS BASED ROMS - PLEASE TAKE BACKUP OF /system/fonts IF YOU WANT TO RESTORE LATER !!!
Update Aug 16 - Taking user requests for custom fonts !
Update Aug 17 - Added iStok Web Font
Update Aug 20 - Added Roboto (Standard Edited & 80% size option)
Update Aug 20 - Added Roboto Condensed (Standard Edited & 80% size option)
I have edited the original JellyBean font file to include the same font as Bold instead of the Roboto. It makes the interface very clean and consistent across all apps.
There are multiple versions of the font packs (see screenshot links).
The same regular font has been used to create the Bold font hence the consistency.
Just flash away and enjoy ! If this helped you, dont forget to Thanks :good:

Jellybean Fonts have been updated for Italic/BoldItalic to be the same base now !
I would love a smaller version of the default ICS/Sense 4.1 font...
(Even when set to 'small' it just isn't quite small enough for me...
Would this be possible?
When compared to the JellyBean font, the iStok font looks smaller in the screenshots you posted.
Is the iStok font really smaller?
Here is Roboto with 80% size ... Let me know if this looks about right, then I'll work on it.
Updated image with Roboto Condensed font as well ... you pick

Actually, I like them both!
The reason I would like a smaller font, is because I want to really benefit from the huge display on the One X. Both the 80% and the condensed font seem to achieve this. :good:
Would it be too much to ask you to please provide a preview of the Roboto Condensed at 80%? (Why not have the best of both worlds?)

New fonts added as attachment in first post (will be uploaded to Dropbox/GDrive soon).
Update Aug 20 - Added Roboto Regular & Condensed (Standard Edited & 80% size option)

PLEASE FIX PERMISSIONS AFTER THIS FLASH ... FOR SOME REASON THE FONTS END UP WITH NO READ PERMISSION CAUSING NO EFFECT IF YOU RESTAR T WITHOUT FIXING (I will work on this and update the zips soon)
Of course, you can also just copy over the fonts and fix permissions using Root Explorer and then Reboot!

I managed to create a fully functional update.zip.
It's tested and working, but please test for yourself too...
I attached an example with the Roboto Condensed font at 80% you created.
@v-b-n: Feel free to edit the script to show the correct font name. You can even replace my name if you want to...
If you want, I can attach the following scripts too:
- Roboto Condensed (100%)
- Roboto Original (100%)
- Roboto Original (80%)
BTW:
I installed the Roboto Condensed 80% font and I like it a lot!
(Used my own update zip of course )
Here's some screenshots:
Actually the zips I created were all fixed already ... I forgot to remove that comment from the OP... thanks anyways

Oh, and I hoped I could do something back...
:silly:
(Actually, I didn't test before fixing, so this doesn't really come as a surprise to me.)
Hopefully this is in the right place... Just looking for some clarification. I downloaded a font pack with almost 500 fonts. I have my T Mobile GN3 rooted so I copied all of the fonts into the /system/fonts folder. When I did this previously on my Galaxy s3 the fonts I added showed up in the settings when I clicked on font. Now when I go into settings and font on my GN3 the newly added fonts do not show. Is there something else I need to do to get them to show up in my font list under settings? Any help is appreciated! Thanks...

I installed a bunch of fonts via apk files, and after they installed I went to settings and fonts. They showed up there, but when I tried to choose one I kept getting an error that they were not compatible. They all worked on my GSII, so I think it's something built into the phone preventing us from using them normally. I installed iFonts from the Play Store, and applied them with that. That worked. They even show as "current" in the phones settings, so I have no idea why the phone by default won't let them work.
Anyone have any clue as to how to get them to show up in the setting font list?
So I made an apk for zooper containing clock widgets, and I used many 3rd party fonts for it.
When I saved the widget to build apk , fonts are saved as .ttf.jet and I built the apk with eclipse .
But now people are reporting that they can't see the fonts I used.
Am I doing anything wrong or is it an issue with zooper?
Here's my app if you wanna take a look at. You can see the fonts I used in the preview while applying the widget.

You step into the same trap is I did mate. The solution to it is quite simple though: delete the .jet extensions from the font files and re-compile, then it should work again.
But before you do that, do me a favor and save your current eclipse project as a ZIP and send it to [email protected]. The dev said the problem with .jet-fonts should have been fixed and that he needed samples to work it out. Put a description in the email about your problem so he knows what it's about. I already send in a sample but the more the better, especially if they are from different sources
