Hi,
and sorry for my poor english...*
My Device:
HTC One M8
M8_UL UNKNOW
Tampered / Unlocked / Root / S-OFF
CID 11111111
TWRP: latest
Rom: viperone
Problem: bootloop.
The problem occurred after installation of the dualsim adapter from the Magicsim (magic-sim.com]). That did not work, so I tried to reinstall the rom with full wipe.
Result: bootloop and no access to the viper's rom, and no access to recovery.
M8 is seen by the fastboot:
fastboot devices returns <ùOu☼ÚQÞÁ¾ £ ╦ <~)
M8 is not seen by ADB:
adb devices returns nothing
*
I think the drivers are OK. But I can reinstall drivers if necessary?
What I have noticed abnormal, it is in fastboot getvar all:
INFOserialno <ùOu☼ÚQÞÁ¾ £ ╦ <~)
INFOmodelid: ☻◄
I have incomprehensible symbols. I can not rewrite the mid or serial ...
Anyway ... I can not fix the problem ...

Also HBOOT gives:

Thx!
Sorry, I haven't a verizon, but HTC M8.
If a moderator can redirect it ?
Thx

Did you try to reflash your recovery ? Your recovery may has been corrupted. I would try flashing the newest twrp 2.8.1.0 recovery and see if that fixes your issue.
Hi, and thx,
Yes, I do it.
I've try to reflash my recovery (latest ie 2.8.1.0) and RUU.
But fastboot returns error :
FAILED (remote: 41 model id check fail)
That the reason why I think it's probably a problem with M8 identification (mis & seial) ?
No idea ?

Moved to International, thanks.
Thanks !
At this level, I think it is not possible to repair my M8.
I've read this related post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2627411
Because of this thread and of the failure of my attempts, I would like to send my phone to HTC. The warranty period is valid, BUT, I have red text, SuperCID tampered and S-OFF...
How can I build a "good" android-info.txt ?
Correct modelid : 0P6B10000
Corrupt modelid : ☻◄
Can you suggest me a solution to find a issue ?!
I try to do somthing...
With an Hexaditor, I have write this android-info.txt :
Hexa :
Code:
6d 6f 64 65 6c 69 64 3a 20 e2 98 bb e2 97 84 0a
63 69 64 6e 75 6d 3a 20 31 31 31 31 31 31 31 31
0a 6d 61 69 6e 76 65 72 3a 20 33 2E 31 36 2E 30 2E 30 30 30 30 0A
Texte :
Code:
modelid: ☻◄.cidnum: 11111111.mainver: 3.16.0.0000
In the android-info.txt, it gives the following result :
Code:
modelid: ☻◄
cidnum: 11111111
mainver: 3.16.0.0000
But after flashing process, fastboot return a 41 model id check fail.
At this point, do I persist in this way?
Thx a lot,

thanks for this i managed to bring back the original ROM.
also just want to give background info. on this..
after I bring back Sense ROM in this unit, i will be surrendering it to HTC center because the LCD was broken and need of replacement.
last month i brought it there and they were charging me a couple of hundred dollars on top of the LCD replacement, due to the reason im using a different kind of ROM and such..
How can i guarantee that the ROM im using is a legit one and so i wont be questioned by them anymore and just replace the screen?
I checked the software info on my phone now, and it displays:
Android Version: 4.0.4
HTC sense version: 4.1
Software Number: 2.17.707.3
HTC SDK API level: 4.23
HTC extension version: HTCExtension_403_1_GA_20
i hope this can be any of help to you
If you run the ruu succesfully its full stock. You can't run another ruu then the one that is released for your phone with your software number ! Don't worry about that.
The only thing that they will see is the relocked bootloader, they always know its been unlocked before. That's all.
They can make a problem of that, because in certain cases unlocking means no more warranty

Hi everyone!
I've managed to screw up my Desire HD after running aahk-11092012, and was wondering if anyone had any bright ideas...
The Phone is a Desire HD bought from SFR here in France in 2011, never rooted or custom rom'ed, although updated with 2or 3 SFR roms since.
I ran aahk from the terminal on a OSX 10.7 (see Output.txt). From this you will see that it wants naturally to downgrade (to Froyo I assume) but downloading the rom fails, and even though I refused the "-n Flash this RUU? (y/n)" question, it continued doing all sorts of things, getting a few error along the way, rebooting the phone into recovery a few times, and finishes with
************* Downgrade failed *************
** Either:
** GoldCtixiard/SDCard failed
** USB connections are not working 100%
************* Downgrade failed *************
I then tried to flash the "Gingerbread HTC WWE 2.50.405.2" rom from the options menu, thinking I'd be clever, but that monumentally fails too..
From this point on the phone boots to the "Red tringle with an exclamation mark" screen (after the white HTC logo) and does nothing else.
Restarting AAHK just fails with a "Error detecting HTC phone on USB connection."
Having discovered the "VOL-UP +Power" recovery screen during this process, the next thing I tried was a "Apply sdcard:update.zip", but this just results in an "Invalid command" message underneath that already present "E: Can't open /cache/recovery/command" in yellow further down the screen.
I then try a "Wipe data/factory reset" and also a "Wipe cache partition". I can't honestly explain this. At least not given that I hadn't really looked up the issue anywhere yet. I also cant remember exactly what the output was, but the result is the same, still the red triangle screen.
OK, so now I finally open my eyes and realize what a moron I've been, so i plunge into actually learning something and realize quickly (aside from I hate myself and I'm not special, bla bla) that there are loads of thing I could have done differently, and directly on the phone, but obviously it's now too late. (See below for the information I CAN get from the Phone)
Oh yes, I did try a "Factory reset" from HBOOT, but still no joy....
The main option I've been looking into has been to recover an original branded SFR firmware and Froyo ROM and go from there, so I did manage to get a PD98IMG.zip file onto the SD card and HBOOT recognizes it, but fails with a "CID Incorrect" error.
I seem, therefore to be stuck whether I want to return to original SFR or continue tryng to flash a custom ROM:
I can't make a goldcard: I cant adb any commands, in HBOOT the device is not found, and in recovery the device is found but is "offline".
I found jo0ls' CID reader, but I dont have a SD card reader directly plugged to the PCI bus!
I did finally try to install a clockwork recovery in FASTBOOT, but get this:
$ fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-ace.img
sending 'recovery' (3624 KB)... OKAY
writing 'recovery'... INFOsignature checking...
FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
I assume this is much the same error as for the PD98IMG...
Sorry about the long winded post, but I hope it has the maximum of info...
Anyone have any ideas?

AAHK, and the server hosting the downgrade files, is retired. You can still unlock the bootloader, but your hboot needs updating before it cam be unlocked. I think you could also run your stock RUU.

@ humzaahmed155: quite right, I'm with SFR, and I'm trying to simply restore an original branded ROM

Woohoo!! I'm so happy, I got the phone working again last night!! I had a ruu kicking around:
RUU_Ace_Sense30_S_Vodafone_FR_3.13.163.3_Radio_12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M_release_227340_signed.exe
from the first day I'd bricked it. This hadn't worked the first time I tried it on windows (actually a Parallels VM on Mac), with the phone plugged in, but I can't remember what mode the phone was in; but as you'll see below I must not have been in fastboot...
Whatever, last night I finally tried pascuals's PD9810000 RUU, with the phone connected and in fastboot, the utility detects the phone fine, but fails with a firmware version error, saying the phone is 1.32.405.6, it will install version 3.13.0.0 but I need to "upgrade to 3.12.405.1"..:silly: (see attachments).
Feeling dejected I fired up the rom cited above thinking I have nothing to lose, and...lo an behold...10 minutes or so later the phone reboots to a beautiful welcome screen insulting me for not having inserted a SIM card!!!
Thanks anyway for your answers, at least they got me looking in the right direction!! I will now go a learn properly how this things work before bricking it again

I see no reason why you need to update the bootloader when you already have s-off. If your bootloader is engineering bootloader then just let it be.
Sent from my Desire HD
Trying to recover an HTC One (M7) Verizon m7wlv for a friend of mine.
He wasn't trying to do anything "developery" to the phone. He said he installed some app off the market, and after a reboot it was softbricked.
UPDATE The App he tried installing was MobileIron which is a corporate app designs to encrypt the phone for corporate security needs. It was a requirement of the company he is working for.
So if you had this issue after installing MobileIron, then this is a good thread for you to read.
It comes up to the OS and complains, in blue:
Encryption unsuccessful
Encryption was interrupted and can't
complete. As a results, the data on your
phone is no longer accessible.
To resume using your phone, you need to
perform a factory reset. When you set up
your phone after the reset, you'll have an
opportunity to restore any data that was
backed up to your Google Account.
>Reset Phone<
When I click Reset Phone, the "Factory data reset" window open, then the phone reboots.
For a moment, it loads an upgrading phone screen(I believe)
And then hits recovery, and has the following errors at the bottom:
E: missing bitmap oem_unlock_bg
(Code -1)
E: missing bitmap oem_unlock_bg_yes
(Code -1)
E: missing bitmap oem_unlock_bg_no
(Code -1)
E: missing bitmap icon_ruu
(Code -1)
Backup necessary files in data partition
E:failed to mount /data (Invalid argument).. try emmc mount
Data wipe failed.
From the error screen, I am able to work my way to setting, by pressing home twice, and then, the ... menu in the top right, then Running Apps, then I can use the arrow left at the top left of the screen to reach the rest of the system menus.
I can get to build version, enable dev mode, enable usb debugging, and access adb shell.

Tried it, and got further than before. Not sure if it's because I ran the utility while in rebootRUU mode, or if it's because I found a different driver, but it did at least try, before it failed.
The RUU is trying to flash to:

The phone is at: 6.22.605.3
I think it's failing because of the version number.

You sent him to my thread for 4.4.3 signed zip....which is I posted the zip for 5.0.2 (6.22.605.3).
So I'm guessing you got the zip for 6.22.605.3 from somewhere else.

I just put two and two together from Zanzibar asking me about it earlier.
OK. So let's get the op to try this while booted to fastboot.
Fastboot oem task 28
Fastboot oem task 29
Then flash ruu zip and cross fingers.

I'm curious now what are those , i've only dealt with a few [usually not used] oem commands as a [possibly sloppy] workaround for the misc partition fix, but never posted them openly due to my lack of knowledge of what they actually do

so 28 will wipe /data from fastboot
29 will format binary file system for /cache /data /system (system only on an s-off phone).
and I should add that most of the time if the phone doesn't have EMMC issues these commands will fix being locked out due to encryption issues.

I tried this zip, and it DID flash, however, I got errors during the flash:
Code:
FAIL90 hboot pre-update! please flush image again immediately
FAILED (remote: 90 hboot pre-update! please flush image again immediately)
Restart the same procedure with "hboot-preupdate" response for (FA37HS903177)...
< waiting for device >
sending 'zip'... (46522 KB) OKAY
writing 'zip'... (bootloader) adopting the signature contained in this image...
The flash did not stop there, it kept going all the way through.
I tried running it a second time, and got the same error.
I tried rebooting, but the phone is still in the same state with the encryption error, and can't wipe /data
So close, totally expected the RUU to fix this.
You posted some other things to try, below, I will test those and reply.
Thanks for your time!

Yes. That is a normal flash.
Let us know the results of the added commands

I did OEM 28 only, and did a reboot, and have a very promising "Android is upgrading..."
Will update you when it gets through the 278 apps...
Phone is back up and running. I suspect that this command alone would have resolved the origional problem.
Thank you very much for your help. I'll update the OP tonight with the solution.

good deal....back from the land of despair.
So I just got my new cell phone, my first time with Android, and a few days ago I messed up. I followed this video to try and root my device : Sakitech's video on 'How to Root your HTC One M9 (Full Guide) - sorry can't post links
It ended up in a bootloop, I tried a few things and ended up installing Android HD Revolution 20.0 as my OS. I did it, but I had one problem : I didn't have any service with my provider anymore
So I panicked, tried a few things and ended up relocking my phone, while still being S-ON. I tried more stuff, without really knowing exactly what I was doing, and now my ADB cannot recognize my phone anymore. (when I do cmd adb devices it doesn't show up) I tried everything : re-installing all the drivers I could, pdaNet, changing environment variables, nothing works. It also cannot go in recovery mode anymore, so it is impossible for me to install the TWRP backup I found which is an exact match to my phone and provider (videotron) :
kernel: lk
product: htc_himaulatt
version: 1.0
version-main: 3.38.1530.2
version-baseband: 01.01_U11440801_96.01.51207G_F
version-bootloader: 1.0.0.0000
mid: 0PJA11000
cid: VIDEO001
Went ahead and bought a micro sd card to try and install a stock rom. The microSD card works because I tried to flash a rom and it gave me the error that I didn't have the right version. I have no stock rom to work with, unless there is a way I can flash the TWRP backup with an sd card.
Again, I cannot
-turn my phone on (softbrick)
-enter recovery mode
-adb devices : list of devices attached empty
-put my phone s-off
-the device also is NOT rooted
I can
-enter download mode
-enter fastboot commands
-enter bootloader mode
-i have a working microsd card
When I go into download mode it's showing :
*** RELOCKED ***
htc_himaulatt PVT S-ON
LK-1.0.0.0000
RADIO-01.01_U11440801_96.01.51207G_F
OpenDSP-15.6.1.00522.8994_1026
OS-3.38.1530.2
Flashing a stock rom seems to be my only option left. Or is it? Please help me, guide me ! I have been working 20+ hours on this thing and it is driving me crazy!
Thanks a lot

Then open the last result from freelatestmovies, download the file where you find VIDEO001...

Your English is fine! and thank you for the reply. But as I mentioned in the post, I already downloaded it, but it is a TWRP recovery file. There is no way (I believe) I can use it because I can't get into recovery mode.

I tried that one too, gave me error that it was wrong version. D:
EDIT: I guess I will give the full error code too!
19 RU_MAIN_VER_FAIL os-version in android-info missing or i
19 RU_MAIN_VER_FAIL os-version in android-info missing or i
FAIL19 RU_MAIN_VER_FAIL os-version in android-info missing or i
Again, I think I still have Android Revolution HD 20.0 Custom Rom installed on my phone.

The main problem is that I cannot boot into recovery mode. My PC also doesn't recognize my phone so no way of doing adb commands. (can still boot in fastboot though)
I have the perfect matching TWRP recovery! I just don't know how to install it...
