All,
I hope someone can help me, or direct me to where I can find out how to get by the update. I've had it pop up on my Verizon G3 every day and every time I plug it into a charger, I have to keep pushing it until I find a solution.
From what I've read, I believe the update is not going through due to a Hotspot Mod where I changed some files.. I'm sure most of you are familiar. Unfortunately, I don't know how to reverse the modification and go through with the update.
I'm rooted, and on stock.
Thank you for any help.

Just wondering if this OTA will download and apply automatically or if I have to OK it. I have a rooted slide with slidemeroot5 and I don't want to lose root or anything. If someone can answer please let me know, thanks!
Its for the stock ROM so you wouldn't even be able to apply it anyway. If you were stock and rooted it would take the root away. I would say best bet is to wait until a Dev applies the changes to their ROM and then flash that.

To implement the OTA into a ROM, the dev needs the OTA file. If he downloads the OTA and doesn't install it, then pulls it as described in a thread in the Slide General forum, then contacts a dev such as ChiefzReloaded and gives him the OTA file, then proper development can continue.
There is something on the tmo press release that confused me. It says that you will be notified by a free sms msg. Is this how all ota updates have come out? I have never had a stock android at the time of an update (rooted my g1 first day out of the box). If so, then I know how to go about pulling the file down for a dev; and I will when my daughter gets her update (if someone hasnt already beat me to it that is). If this is not the usual way; will pulling the file still be possible?
The press release also mentions something about them not being able to manually update subscribers any sooner than the 19th. Is this just their way of saying dont call us if you havent gotten your update yet? Thats kinda funny if that's all it is, lol.

That's exactly what it means. What else could it possibly mean other than that? I work for T-Mobile and if you were to call asking about the update before then, I'd tell you to call back if you don't get it by the 20th. We literally can't push the OTA.
It could possibly mean that there is no download for it available to public devices. Im just trying to make sure that when my daughters phone updates i will be able to pull the logcat and have a download url

So just the other day I was finally able to root my slide via one of the methods posted here. I quickly installed cyanogenmod 6.1 stable only to find out that it is horrible on my battery life. So I decided to un-root the phone and go back to the stock ROM. So I followed yet another method and I was able to return to the original rom, but I am having troubles applying the OTA radio update. I have attempted both methods posted in the "bible" thread and I receive errors after I choose to apply sdcard:update.zip.
It says "E: signature verification failed installation aborted"
anybody have any idea why this may be happening?
Are you trying to apply the "OTA" update found on this board, or did your phone actually receive the update over the air? If you're back to stock, you will not be able to apply updates found on this site like you could when rooted.
I am trying to apply the ones found on this message board, I never received the official OTA update from t-mobile. I remember when i got the phone (bought it 2nd hand) I was able to apply the OTA update. So your saying I need to be rooted in order to apply it?
Well, not entirely sure about specifically the OTA update, but I was under the impression that any .zip you tried to update while not being rooted would not work. However, if you unrooted, you will eventually receive the update if your phone needed it.
So t-mobile is still pushing the update? I was under the impression that is was only durring a select time frame they would be doing that. I might have to hold off on tweaking my phone around some more and see if it does happen.
As far as I know, anytime your phone registers on the network, it will also peek for updates. I do not think there was a time limit, but I could be wrong.
Alright, I will give it a couple days before I do anything and see what happens. Thanks for the input. If anybody else knows anything, please do share .
I was wondering if someone would know of a simple way to receive an update to my gs3 after rooting, I recently purchased it. It is the U.S cellular variant and I must say I was pretty impressed (shocked) that on my first attempt ever at rooting a device I was able to root my gs3 without a single problem using the CMteamepic root file>>cwmrecovery tar file>> odin file>>> based on the sprint illustration on youtube. Followed it to a T and voila'... It was done, I actually did it without a single issue to the root process or to phone If someone could help with the update issue, I tried updating and the phone actually went through the process all the way to where it asks where you want to boot from and then press the power button. I'm not sure if I was suppose to scroll to something else prior to pressing the power button but when I did so from the first selection and phone booted up it said update failed. If anyone could please help I would greatly appreciate it.

You can't apply ota updates while rooted. You need to unroot if you really want the update. Honestly, most devs just incorporate the updates in to their roms once the updates are are released anyways.
The above is true however...
In my opinion I say **** the whole OTA. The baseband is what counts. The rest of the updates are sprint garbage. As above post states,Most roms are updated to reflects the ota's however if your on an older build I recommend grabbing the newest baseband here http://www.mediafire.com/?u4793wlu5r97t3g. Then stop the update nag by flashing this http://dl.xda-developers.com/attach...2042/503dad17/1/2/4/4/2/7/7/blazerOTAkill.zip. Just my 2 cents.

I've used that and it worked

Hi all,
I'm still having issues getting my AT&T Note to update from 4.1 to 4.4. I'd previously had it unlocked and rooted, but even after undoing that all, it fails on update. A few kind helpers on here gave some tricks to try out based around where it might be failing in the process (ie which specific file was causing the problem) but that hasn't worked either. I haven't looked into it for well over a month, so I thought I'd check back in.
Any hope for a ROM that can just be applied using odin?
Thanks!
hope you find one, if true please let know
For some reason my phone will not let me take the newest update for the Verizon G4. Does anybody know of another way besides OTA or Verizon Update Assistant that I could update my phone? Can't find the KDZ to try and flash. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You
Mine won't see it either. They may have pulled the update?
Are you rooted?

No not rooted
I would also love to hear of a way to update to Verizon's 12a without OTA. I unrooted my 11a version in order to get 12a to fix touchscreen issues. It seems the 12a OTA is not around, at least verizon doesn't want to give it to me.
Oddly enough after using kdz for 11a my software showed status as "Official". But a few hours later it switched to Modified, even though I'm not rooted. Not sure why.
I don't see it either

Same here, my phone is unrooted, and it is on Verizon Network.
I have tried OTA update, it keep saying i already have the latest update (which is 11A)
I have also tried Verizon Update Assistant Installer (working in windows 7, but not in Windows 10), same thing, when I tried to update, it keep saying I already have the latest update (which is 11A)
do any one know Verizon push OTA by the list? (e.g. some people will get first, and some people will get last) or every one should get OTA at once?
Also, is possible Verizon pull the 12A update due to notification issue?
thanks
It's highly likely that Verizon pulled this update. Nobody has reported receiving it since about 10/10. I'm sure we'll see a new one drop soon that fixes whatever was wrong with 12A.

Thanks for the info.
Hoping Verizon does not take too much time, We will get Marshmallow soon, then 12A is no longer needed.
