Gaming graphics - Micromax Canvas A1

Is it just me or everybody with canvas a1 here gets distorted edges when we play high end games like asphalt 8. pls tell me any other solution other than forcing 4xmsaa in developer option as it doesn't work, it works in other games like impossible road but not in asphalt 8

Buy a gaming console. For a budget phone its best

@Yokkel i too have it, im guessing its a rom/driver issue as cpu and memory are free, hope they fix it in lolipop.

Asphalt 7 Heat: game sucks

ive got to say im disappointed, grpahics lag in some areas, draw distance crap, nothing like the trailer, controls suck bigtime, compared to asphalt 6, plenty of in app purchases which is fair enough but alot of decent features are gone

its 1$ but there is alot of in game purchases available so in reality it costs a bit more, however thr control scheme is majorley flawed
hey, i just bought that game. had no other driving game on the smartphone, i've heard about "asphalt" genre before and it was pretty cheap.
well, after 1 race i simply dont like it. the worst part is low framerate and fps drops. on a quad core, fastest mobile device on the market, i'm expecting the game to be work flawless in 60 fps. driving is bad even for an arcade racer.

thats waht im saying dude, it should play flawless like nova 3 (which plays flawless on mine with chainfire) except this game sucks big time, its just a shoddy release from gameloft for the s3, im seriously disapointed, they dont even optimize it for quad core gpu, the game could have been awesome
you should get asphalt 6 you will love that dude,
not to mention that it needs internet connection to play!!

Thats one of my disappointment..the second is the controls, why u need two nitros both side? Apart from that I dont have any low framerate issue! No lag what so ever.
agreed. is laggy, hard to control and the graphics arent that good
what i've found with Better battery stats. i've played the game for 20 minutes and i've looked at CPU states, that 20 minutes the phone was used at 800 mhz, maybe that are so many lags.
Get asphalt 6, love it

Great game!

game lags on I9300 only?
it has been a long time since last post, but I wonder why this game lags on SGSIII and not in SGSII. does this happens to other games as well?
I don't have any issues with this game on GS3... Im running stock rom with perseus 33.3
My game got a lot more smooth after using this "patch". It tweaks the graphic settings..put the file in the folder where the game is installed:

Runs ok here, I'm still using galaxsih kernel though, no sds fix so be careful if you try it.

You'd have to modify the apk to enable the enhanced effects, which Gameloft only enabled for certain devices like the xperia play.
Anyway, I agree that the game sucks, even with the enhanced graphics turned on. Compared to asphalt 6, there isn't even a single new map.
It's like the Gameloft guys thought, "hey, isn't the asphalt 7 deadline tomorrow? Crap, we haven't even started yet. Let's just change the menu of asphalt 6. I'm sure no one will notice"

I am thinking about getting an XPERIA S, is it good for gaming?

Hello there
I have been using an Xperia Mini for some time now and while the phone does everything i'd expect from a low end phone it's not good for gaming and i was thinking about getting a newer better phone, and while the Xperia S's lack of SD expansion option is a downer (i have a 32GB SD card :crying: ) i like the HD screen so much and i was considering either the Galaxy S2 or the Xperia S, and i heard that some people are experiencing lag when playing some modern 3D games, so i want an honest opinion from the phone owners.
So what do you think? should i get Xperia S or Galaxy S2 ?
Thanks in advance
With the stock ICS I have been experiencing some lag in games.
After upgrading to Jelly Bean (CM10) it was buttery smooth.
Screen is amazing on the phone, so no problem with gaming.
I suggest you after buying phone, right away unlock bootloader and flash CM10, if you're into mobile gaming.

Are we talking lag on all games or just the heavy 3d ones?
I am also considering the Galaxy Nexus but the 16GB limit is frustrating for me
I wouldn't call it lag.Sometimes it stutters for a second in heavy 3D games.

Why not tx or ion?
ion has a 4.6' screen and the cool brushed aluminum back cover.
tx has the better cpu(8260A).
And Ion has a sd card slot
All games run fine on ICS, too.
honestly i don't have the funds for those phones
i am kinda between the galaxy nexus, galaxy s2 and the Xperia S. and since my last phone was a Sony i am kinda rooting for the S but the gaming performance is really important to me since the Xperia Mini really gave me a hard time with games.

On stock ics it has some problems sometimes with lag, but its rare, and only in heavy 3d games, on CM10 i had not a single problem with lags. But remember to check "disable HW overlay" because it gives some problems in few games

thank you so much, are you a heavy gamer?
just one last question, is this lag a problem with the CPU or the GPU ? , if i get the XPERIA SL with it's 1.7 GHz CPU would it be any better? and does it have the same support the S has here on the android development forum?
I don't play every heavy game. I already tried NOVA 2, played NFS: MW till the end, half of Asphalt 7, played a little with GTA III, and other 2D-3D games (2D style, 3D graphics, such as Bad Piggies and Airbag Frank (also, really addicting game, btw).
Except for a FPS dropdown for a few seconds on MW, all those games run perfectly, even on ICS firmware.

anyone knows if the SL is a significant improvement over the S ?
SL is like a twin brother of S, basically it's a slightly overclocked version of S .Also SL has better build quality and a little bit better screen.

Xperia SL
Hi, i have a Xperia SL and i play Modern Combat 3, The Dark Knight Rises, Dead Space, Shadowgun, MASS Effect and other games without any kind of problem with stock ICS 4.0.4. I'm very happy with my phone, is good for gaming. Sorry for my english.
I got Xperia S and I ma a heavy gamer
here is list of games I have played so far with ICS .45 (now I am at .55)
Dead Space = No Lag, Very Smooth Gameplay with Awsome HD Graphic. :victory:
NFS: Most Wanted = Nice Graphic, Smooth Game play, sometime Frame drop a little.
Wild Blood = Very Smooth Gameplay, No Lag.
Asphalt 7 = Smooth Gameplay
Dead Trigger = Very Very Smooth Gameplay, No Lag.
ShadowGun = Very Smooth Gameplay, No a single Lag at all. :good:
Blood and Glory: Legend = Smoot + no lag
All Angry Birds Series = Very Smooth Gameplay, No Lag.
BackStab HD: gameplay is good but little lag (Remember I played an out dated version and in the new version the lag was fixed)
10. Riptide GP v1.4.2 = Best HD Racing game ever.
11. Expendable Rearmed = Smooth, no lag.
12. Temple run, Temple Run BRAVE, Subway Surfers, Agent Dash = Runs perfectly
Also played many HD game and I didn't have any problem. sometime few games lag a bit but the Lag was not noticeable and didn't interrupt my gameplay. BTW, Before I had Xperia NEO and gameplay was really BAD :crying: but Now with xperia S, Gameplay is Awesome :victory:
i think iphone is better for gaming.
Not enough funds to get an Ion and you suggest an iPhone. Good job!

I would take the S over the SL any day. More dev support, more fun.

The SL is the same thing as with Arc S last year. Both things work perfectly for each other (maybe not Kernel, but I'm not sure).

Served By XDA app From Nazomi (LT26i)
as its in unofficial version so I didn't tried out yet but when the official version come out I'll download MC 4

Not quite all over great in gaming...
It supports high end games...not all..but almost..i mean...the main problem is its resolution..its ppi..its tooo damn low....everything with damn high resolution and sharpness will look bad....we can play asphalt 8in highest resolution too...but its sharpness is too mch that our screen don't support and that looks ugly at times....if u zooom the same...it becomes very hd...i mean to say if u zoom out very hd graphics...they look bad..so its okay for gaming..but not that great....icons big.. And it got broadcomm processor...which haven't released codes...thanx to devs they released amazing kitkat roms and everything for us...but still many things are limited... ..so i wud advice....that don't mahn...just wait..

Watching movies
Hell yeah, watching movies on grand is awesome
Mostly watch those 720p ones from YiFy which show decent detail
The only thing is the audio output via headphones
My old P500 has way better audio on headphones than grand even without using Viper or any other mod
Browsing Internet
Never faced an issue
The 5 inch factor is pretty good while browsing web
Games
Grand has a pretty good GPU which has been improved by Samsung by firmware updates
Games like Asphalt 8, FIFA 14, Injustice, Dead Trigger 1&2 play smoothly
Would recommend the Xperia Ion/Xperia C over it though
(Go buy it if you are gonna install ViperFX to get some decent sound)

Ohkay thanks I'm finally gonna buy grand
Movies: Too good, I use VPlayer.
Games: I don't play much, but have played Subway surfers, temple run 2, etc. It runs without any lag.
Internet: No issues. I use Stock browser as well as Chrome at times for a change.
Hit thanks if you like my post.
If you can't live without dual SIM and willing to shell out some extra bucks then wait for Grand 2. Spec-side it's a bit better than Grand 1
Xperia SP run HIGH END Games almost no lag , it has adreno 320 , Grand 2 is great choice too

So I got the tab pro 10.1 WiFi.. but

I got the device mainly becouse I found a good deal it fit my not too high budget for a tablet. I am also a mobile gamer and I thought with its octa cpu it would handle all games perfectly. That does not seem to be the case, on highest grafics setting asphalt 8 runs at <20 fps while my HTC One m7 runs it perfectly. Is there any way to fix that? Also is there any chance of cyanogenmod for this device? I know it's hard for exynos cpus but is there really no way?

same here...
I tried asphalt 8 and the FPS was very low... I was very disapointed.
but I'm pretty sure the problem is software related (this game is not optimized for the device), because I installed NFS most wanted and I was blown away with the graphics and smoothness of the game. If you like a good racing game similar (even better in my opinion) to asphalt 8, I highly recommend that you install NFS most wanted.:good:
an update by samsung or gameloft will eventually solve these problems...

Yeah I also found out the problem must be related to asphalt because other games, even mc and gta sa run very well I will check out need for speed as well then

aspahlt 9 in samsung a 70 verry laggy.

I just bought for my birthday this smarhtphone and i tried all the games and only one game cannot run in good, this is Asphalt 9 legends, too laggy. But with this phone is impossible to not run this game and pubg and fortnite yes, so my question is , is my phone that just cannot run the game, or it´s A70 itself? But with these specifications A70 would have run this game without any problems.
I don´t know if I get my money back or wiat for actualization that arrange that problem. Somebody with the same problem?

You can't expect 60FPS on a 675 chip which is a mid-range SOC. If you want to "game" on phone, then invest in 845 or 855.

I read that the GPU is not the best for games. The processor is fine but the GPU is a little on the weak side
Thank you. I bought another phone with 845 chip.
A70 is powerful enough to play all games, it's obvious because it can run PUBG on max settings without problems. Asphalt 9 is laggy because game is unoptimized for 675 chip, other 675 devices also lag in Asphalt 9. Once more and more people buy A70 I'm sure Asphalt developers will fix the problems.
I can't believe people change their mobile phones because 1 game lags, but I guess that's what happens in 2019.
