[Q] Unlocked T Mobile SGS3 would not make calls on Wind - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Any help would be very appreciated!
I purchased an unlocked T-Mobile version os SGS3 (T999) for my son, planning him to use it on Wind Mobile's network.
After inserting a SIM card, I can see that the phone was able to identify Wind Network but it would not make any calls.... behaving as it is out of coverage.
When I connected to my Wi-Fi the phone started downloading some T-Mobile update (~36 gb in size).
i have a similar model of SGS3 (T999v) and assumed that these models are interchangeable... Was I wrong?
Is there anything that can be done to fix the reception issue?
Thanks,

Tilt 2 (AT&T) on Bell (Roaming)

So yeah, where I live should not be roaming on Bell's network.
I unlocked a Tilt 2, I am using a Bell sim. I have been able to send/receive texts, voice etc.
However, every time I try to make a data connection it says I am roaming.
I am relatively new to smartphones and unlocking. Could it be that I did not properly unlock the phone (or if I didnt would that prevent me from using Bell's network period?) or is there something stupid I am doing?
Or do I just have to call Bell and get them to straighten their crap out?
I have the same problem Here. Tilt 2 on Bell Network. As I can understand from my search, this is due to the Radio Rom that does not have Bell SIM info as local provider. We probably need to MOD our RADIO to accept bell as local carier
maybe people can help us ?
Thank you
Ok, I've just try with a friend ROGERS SIM card and the phone doesn't roam. Yeah! mabe I found some Q for master people that can help me.
I was on Rogers 3G network without probleme and I found that rogers use same band then Bell 850/1900
so why my phone lookup for rogers and not bell ?

[Q] N900T No Signal / No Sim Issue on WIND/ Mobilicity Networks in Canada

Dear Devs/ Friends.
Having a serious issue with a lot of N900T on Stock Ml7 . After rooting through Chain fire and unlocking through region unlock app Most of the N900T we have are not recognizing "Mobilicity" Canada Sim Card. it keep saying "No Sim Present". and with WIND Mobile it recognize the sim card but only data works and it keep on saying searching in network. and even we manually searched for networks . It see all networks but it will not register.
It does work with Bell, Telus, Rogers, LTE, 2G 3G perfectly.
Initially it is from TMobile USA. And interestingly it started happening recently as we been unlocking these note 3 from couple months now and they were all fine. I do not know if it is the OTA update or something else.
Can some one please help.
Any update guys? i am really stuck here. none of the Note 3 N900T from tMobile seems to work with AWS Carriers in Canada. even though they have the same frequencies as Tmobile AWS. They were all working a few days back and now they are not. It does not seems like a OTA Upgrade or anything which disabled it somehow. is it our unlocking ( Chaifire rooting, + RegionUnlock Aways) which is causing it?

Samsung Galaxy S 4 LTE SPH-L520 question

Ok so I was trying to unlock this samsung s 4 mini lte SPH-L520 but it seems like it's the only model of S 4 mini that i can't find an unlock code for, is this phone un-unlockable? and what is the difference between the SPH-L520 and all the other samsun s 4 mini?
Well one rather big difference of the Sprint S4 mini (SPH-L520) versus the international models (GT-I919X) is that it uses CDMA networks rather than GSM. I am not sure if you can use it on GSM networks with a sim card. I do, however, know that the Verizon version (SCH-I435) which is also CDMA can be unlocked and used on GSM networks. I used the app RegionLock Away from the play store (and here on xda) to unlock and it worked with an AT&T sim card.
Sent from my SCH-I435 using xda app-developers app
I hope your help

Friend also want to unlock the samsung galaxy s4 mini sph-l520, tell me if you managed to do so and if the method by region lock app I run away and if you could explain to me hcer to also do so. I hope your answer and thanks for the help in advance
sprint sph-l520 NOT a worldphone
I talked with the Sprint folks.
The Sprint variant has a sim tray that is just for the data sim (UICC card) not a GSM sim. And it is NOT a worldphone.
So even if you put a GSM sim in it, the radio is not looking for GSM towers (only CDMA).
But the Verizon version IS a world phone, which is why "wiisixtyfour" was able to unlock his.
That being said, since Samsung has made several versions that do have this capability, it seems possible that if someone modifies these things it could work:
-Modified sprint radio to receive GSM radio frequencies/signals (maybe copying the Verizon one?)
-Modified PRL to look for GSM towers
-Modified SIM tray communication to recognize not just DATA sims but GSM sims as well
I have no idea how to do any of these. But would love it if someone a lot smarter than me can take a stab at it. :cyclops:

Please do
SPH-L520 can run on GSM carrier!
Yes, this is what Sprint told me last summer. But it's incorrect. I have a Sprint S4 mini that works on both Sprint and a TMobile MVNO. Voice, text, data (in refarmed area). Unlocking GSM can be done!

avgtuhm, that's only true if you can explain how it was done and it can be replicated.
What does #0111*NETWORKCODE accomplish?
First off, my apologies if I am in error about GSM functioning on my phone.
I will explain what I've done with my Sprint S4 mini and maybe you/someone can tell what is happening. But this is why I thought GSM was/is working on my phone, until supermaxkato questioned this. (Note: I am not a developer.)
My S4 mini is active with Sprint. If I put a GSM SIM in it, of course it does nothing. Try to make a phone call and I get an automated message that it cannot be completed. But after doing the following, I can make calls, send texts, use mobile data.
I powered on with GSM SIM in phone. Entered #0111*NETWORKCODE for my phone in the dialer and hit call button. After this voice, text, data work. However, phone shows "Invalid SIM" in the notifications and the calls and texts come from my Sprint phone vs. the number associated with my GSM SIM. (I didn't realize this until testing last night.)
So did the code just make it so the SIM tray ignores the GSM SIM and functions on Sprint network? (again.. before entering the codes, no calling/texting/data worked with GSM SIM in the phone)
Same results on 2 activated Galaxy phones. Unsuccessful on non-activated S4 Mini.
I am not tech savvy but if anyone wants me to check something on my phone, I will try to get you the information. (I do not have a rooted/modified phone.)
Again, sorry for my mistaken report of success. In retrospect, I should have known it couldn't be that easy.
(Earlier this year, I WAS told by a developer in Colorado that there has been limited success with Sprint S4 minis being unlocked for GSM both internationally and domestic. And a Sprint rep recently told me that this phone can be unlocked internationally for GSM, although I see that it is not on their list of unlockable phones.)

[Q] I747 only getting edge on Cricket -- Plz help

OK so I have a Galaxy Grand Prime (locked to Cricket) that gets 3+ bars LTE at my home. I recently got an AT&T (locked to AT&T) Galaxy S3 (I747) off of eBay to use on Cricket. Since both AT&T and Cricket both use AT&T's LTE network I expected it to work without a problem. However when I put the Cricket SIM in the S3 I can only get 2G EDGE network. I have tried different APNs, network modes, even a couple custom roms. I have no idea what the problem might be.
Any help would be much appreciated
What bootloader and modem are on the phone? Not sure if either of those things will keep you on edge.

[Q] Is possible to load AT&T firmware on a unlocked Verizon LG G4 phone?

Recently I purchased an unlocked Verizon LG G4 phone for my daughter and I just placed the SIM card, and bring it to an AT&T store where they changed the parameters and it worked. It is receiving calls, SMS and have access to internet but showing an "H" so I believe that is probably a slow internet reception.
Is it possible for me to load the bootloader and firmware to make this unit 100% compatible with the AT&T network?
Thanks!

Unfort no these devices have locked bls and a hard brick will more than likely occure. If its rooted u might try enabling all the lte bands if it supports it.
