Going from Galaxy Tab 2 to Tab S speakers - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am looking to get the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 to replace a really slow Tab 2 10.1 that my parents use. They use it mainly for movie watching. The 8.4 is still decently sized but is more portable and lighter. I am mostly concerned about the speakers on such a thin tablet though. How good are they compared to the Tab 2 10.1? The Tab 2 had loud front facing speakers that were very clear and full compared to most other tablets and had "some" bass. Does the 10.5 have identical speakers to the 8.4 since they have identical thinness?
Also, would like some case recommendations for something cheap and super thin/light that you can prop up the tablet for movie watching.

I can't comment on the speaker issue but as far as reasonably priced cases check out Poetic cases on Amazon. The are well made and light weight.

Speakers are quite good on my tab s 8.4. When rooted you can tweak it to be louder, pretty decent. Can't compare to tab 2 though.

I have the 10.5 inch of the tab s. The speakers pretty good and are actually better than the ipad speakers. What makes it goood is that they are on the side and not on the back like most samsung devices. Im not sure about the 8.4 speakers. But holding the tab s without a case hurts your hands since it kind of thin. I hold mine tab s on the edges. I think the book covers for the tab s can be proped up for movie watching.

well for movies I would go for the 10.5 Tab S....
Tapatalked from my GALAXY S5

I have tinnitus and the speakers on the S 10.5 literally hurt my ears. They are tinny and metallic sounding. I use a EQ app to boost the bass and muffle the high frequencies and now they are tolerable. But they don't get very loud as a result.
Depending on your hearing, this may or may not matter.

Seriously guys track down this....

As well as noise reduction it also handles phone calls as well as normal Music/Video audio.
A charge normally lasts me for about 18-20 hours of active use.....I have no idea how long on standby but probably weeks.
You can often pick them up on E-Bay for $30-$50.
If you can get the 905i version as it has a slightly better battery, but not a lot in it.

MEELECTRONICS AirFi Matrix Bluetooth Headphones

Hey XDA
Just throwing out a review for those of you interested in some quality Bluetooth headphones.
I have had these guys for a week and I've tried them on all sorts of music since I am part of a multi media team for a church. We edit and sample all genres of music so I decided to try these out for our work.
Build quality
They seem to be made with very good materials. I've had several other over the ear headphones that feel very flimsy and cheap; this is not the case with these. The adjustable parts on the headphones are very firm and not loose at all maybe even a bit too firm which I appreciate. The carbon fiber part is a cushion and not plastic which was surprising but not bad by any means.
Fit
The fit on these are excellent. They are snug and feel great. After a while you forget you're wearing them which is a plus since I would wear them for hours at a time. The cushions are very soft and there's just something about them that feels awesome.
Functionality
The Bluetooth part works excellent. Pairing took five seconds. They have never dropped Bluetooth connection on my S3, my MacBook Pro, my wife's iPhone, and a few other phones we tested. Pausing the music and answering calls also worked perfect. Battery lasts quite a while and I love that I can use the aux cable for those devices with no Bluetooth.
Sound
Music on these headphones sounds amazing. I am not a fan of many headphones out there with over killed bass but I do like a decent thump - these babies delivered perfectly! Highs were very clear and crisp, mids were present but didn't give them a muddy sound. Call quality was great as well. The person OK the other end heard me perfectly. Volume on the headphones for call was good. I could hear clearly almost as good as the earpiece on my phone.
Overall I really likes these headphones. They have been great for me with everything I do. I like the case they come in and the face that they are quite portable with their rotatable earpiece. I loved that they charge with USB so that makes it easy wherever I'm at.

This beauty!
The first thing that hit me was the look. In my eyes it was gorgeous! The goodies dosen't stop here gentlemens/ladies. I looked at the "Specs" (Hardware) And i almost got a heart attack. 36$ for a bluetooth speaker this powerful ? nfc, bluetooth, linein, lineout, handset. I ordered it and afterwards i thougt? What piece of crap i must have bought. Later around (1-2 weeks) I got a big packetage in my mailbox, I was suprised i forgotten what i ordered. I looked at the packetage and was like. Havit it says? Then it come clear to me. Its the bluetooth speaker!
I rushed in to the house and took my pocket knife and opened it. And inside that ugly packetage (not bad but a packetage dosen't really look good)
I opend it with faith and love and found out that inside that ugly packetage. It was a gorgeous box. I got stunned. I took a glass of water to chill down for a secound. After that i looked future. Even my cat loved it (I supose). I opend the box and was happy to find out it come's with a Set of manuals,A aux cable and a Micro usb to charge it with (Micro usb to usb). The speaker inside the fantastic box was even more fantastic. I hooked it up very easily with nfc. (If you have bluetooth you will need to hook it up manually You'st go into bluetooth settings and pair the device)
The speaker was alredy charged when i got it. I played a sound (Skrillex-Recess) And i found out it had very loud clear sounding audio.
With alot of bass tones and it was overall really good looking and good playing. I tested the battery and it amazing lasted for 11 hours.
That's really really good for a bluetooth speaker.
Thats my story of the Havit HV-SK466BT
Now to the overall.
Good
- Clear sounding audio with heavy bass tones
- Light weight (for it size) to transport
- Good mic for handset
- Good battery time
Bad
- Collects alot of fingerprints
-Feels kinda plastic but robust
I would suggest any people that would like a cheap bluetooth speaker with quality to buy it.
36$ is not alot of money for this quality.
Here are some more pictures taken of the HV-SK466BT

I bought these because I wanted to use earbuds in classes or while working and just use one earbud inconspicuously. These have worked great, and I like them so much that these are the only earbuds I bother grabbing when leaving the house for most occasions.
A big problem I have had in the past with my corded earbuds is that because I am at school, I am always stuffing my earbuds into my bag, where they get tangled and the cord gets damaged, so most of the time I just get cheap earbuds, because they all end up wearing out eventually.
These earbuds fit perfectly in the charging case, and because the case is so small, I can easily slip it into my pocket or backpack and know that they wont get worn out or damaged from my usage.
The pairing on the Bluetooth can be a little confusing at first, because both of the earbuds can be "in charge" because they both work independently. The best way for me to get them paired was to turn on one, and then once it pairs with my phone, then turn on the other earbud and it will automatically pair with the other one.
The sound quality is pretty good, and they are very good at sound cancelling, so I usually just put in one while in class so that I can still hear when something is going on.
I don't really have a way to compare the battery life with my other devices, but they seemed to last a really long time before they got to low battery and I usually put them in the case pretty frequently between usages and the case charges them well. The case charges by usb-c, which is a plus for me, because that's one less micro USB cord I need in the jungle (in my disorganized charging station), I just need to pop it on to my OnePlus Dash Charger and it charges at regular speed.
Although there is not much bass, the sound is very clear, and you can still hear the lower tones. I assume the lack of bass is a contributing factor to why the battery lasts for so long
One thing that surprised me was that my ears do not go well with normal cup earbuds, I usually have to use the shaped ones without the cups like the Apple or Samsung earbuds. Even when I use small earbud cup sizes, I often have trouble with my earbuds falling out. The design on these earbuds makes you twist them to go in and they actually stay in my ears very well I shook my head side to side, equalized my ears, and went running with them and they didn't come out.
Overall, I think that these earbuds are a great substitute for the apple air pods, and the long battery life along with the included charging case lasts me a good while of listening to music or calling people. Many of my Co workers and Classmates have asked about them and where I got them and I have been recommending them left and right, which is why I thought it would be a good idea to share my thoughts about them here .

Review of Anker SoundCore Life 2 Headphones

Like many, I’ve been wanting to hop onto the noise-cancelling headphone bandwagon since models like the Bose QuietComfort 35 and Sony 1000XM series came out. However, also like many, I was not interested in dropping $350 bucks for this experience. I only fly or commute on mass transit a few times a year. These Anker Soundcore Life 2 headphones are a great compromise for those looking to spend less than one-third of the price of the top-tier models and still have a great experience.
Sound quality: Very good. These will not touch wired, high-impedance headphones for lossless music files, but for noise-cancelling, bluetooth headphones for listening to Spotify, the sound quality is super solid. I enjoy the BassUp tech for a deeper and fuller sound. You do get a built in mic too, which is great for making calls.
Noise cancelling: Having used the aforementioned Bose QC and Sony 1000XM series before, these are not on that level with noise cancelling. If those are a “10” these are more like a “7-8”. Those high-end models can wipe out virtually ALL background noise while the Soundcore Life 2 does more of a controlled reduction. Still very good for the price and to block out the outside world.
Battery Life: Fantastic. 30 hours on wireless with up to 60 if you connect with the provided cable. And if you turn off noise cancelling while wired, you can go forever. Would’ve like to have seen a Type C connection (it’s microUSB still) for charging, but this is a pretty small complaint.
Build quality: Top notch. Nothing seems cheap or breakable. The headphones fold down for travel in the provided case. The case has some firmness to it too, so your headphones won’t get crushed. Great for stashing in your backpack or messenger bag. The ear pads are nicely padded and I can easily go over an hour before any kind of “ear compression” discomfort takes hold.
The holiday pack is a great bonus since you get a PowerCore 5000 powerbank for on-the-go charging. Other included accessories include the top end PowerLine+ microUSB cable, an aux cable, and an airplane adapter. Great value here!

Have you tried using these with a PC while gaming? I'm curious whether or not the microphone actually works over wired/BT while gaming.

In the package are the headphones, a charging/transport box combo, and one USB-c cable.
They come powered by the Qualcomm QCC3040 and have Bluetooth 5.2. Two microphones are in every earbud (4 in total) to capture the voice perfectly and filter out environmental noises. The form factor is much like on Apple earpods (see the photos yourself).
They come in a charging case, the charging case uses USB-C to charge itself and then it can charge the headphones 4 times by the inbuild battery. Overall you will get 5hours of playback time. This means 1 full charge plus 4 recharges through the case will give you 5 * 5h = 25h of playback time. Which is pretty nice!
The headphones have a touch control feature, you can simply touch (not press!) the headphone to play/pause etc. your music. Which comes in handy if you don't want to take out your phone. To do so you need to touch them at the logo of the headphones. One tap on the right one will increase the music volume, one tap on the left one will decrease it. Long touch right, next track, long touch left, previous track. Double tap (on both) is play/pause. etc.
Like i said, this works very well. There is also a voice assistant if you press 3 times (no matter which side), but i personally don't like voice control on headphones, but if you like it, it is there for you.
Bluetooth pairing didn't make any issues at all, it was quick and reliable. Just take out the rigt earpiece and start binding, done!
The headphones are a good fit in my ears, i would personally not recommend them for sports, but they should be good for anything else. Overall i think if you want to do sports with wireless headphones you should use another form, the apple like form is a nice fit, but doesn't stay in the ear for jumping around. (Atleast not in my ears )
Sound is very good, i am not audiophile, so i just represent my layman subjective view on this. I am very happy with the sound from this 35€ devices. I did not change any settings and just listened to some online radio and i am fine with the sound.
Overall: Pretty nice headphones for a cheap price! I can definetly recommend them!
They seem very good price point and quality. Nice review!
do you have issue of suppressed sound when using mic on windows 10? it's the only problem for me
