Hi,
I have read through multiple forums, but couldn't find an answer, here is the situation :
- I have ripped my CDs to OGG songs, correctly tagged, playing fine on several PCs (Windows & GNU/Linux), using different software, and my iRiver music player (stock & RockBox firmwares),
- I copied those OGG files on my ext. SD Card (N7105),
- I open Apollo music player (CyanogenMod 10.1),
- it detected the ogg files and they are correctly sorted by artist, album, etc. (it even downloaded the right album pictures)
- I press "play",
- it plays the first song (whichever it is),
- at the end, it displays the name of the 2nd song but doesn't play it
- the player is still in "play" mode, but doesn't play the song, it is stucked,
-> if I press "pause", it pauses and jumps to the next song (the 3rd),
-> if I press "Next", it begins to play the 3rd song,
- after one of the above 2 actions, I press "previous" : it displays the 2nd song and plays it fine !
At the end of that 2nd song, it will jump to the 3d, but does not play it, it seems stucked again, so pressing "next" plays the 4th, then I press "previous" to play the 3rd, etc.
If I press "next" just before the end of each song, it jumps to the next song without ever stoping playing.
I installed Google Music Player, it does exactly the same, but displays an error message when it tries to play the next song "Impossible to play song". But it plays it if I press the "next" then "previous" buttons.
It seems this problem does not appear on non-OGG files (ie MP3), and I have checked that "shuffle" is NOT enabled.
Sometimes it plays 2 songs fine before hanging.
The stock ROM of my Nexus S phone had this problem also, and the stock ROM of my N7105 also, but I used Samsung's music player which didn't have that problem.
So, to solve the problem :
=> do you know of any good music player that :
- will play OGG/MP3/FLAC/etc flawlessly,
- displays a widget on the lock screen and home screen,
- sends infos about the song over bluetooth (my BT sound system displays the song's name if available),
- scans the music collection and sorts songs by artists, albums, etc.
- can play all songs in a folder (untagged/mistagged songs grouped by folders),
- preserves the battery,
- is preferably Open Source and/or GPL and stable,
- has no ads, nor unnecessary authorizations for a simple music player that does all of the above
?
=> Or are there any tricks or hacks or anything to make Apollo play sound files ?
Bye for now,
Dag

Disable battery saving
I had the same problem. YouTube etc. were all fine. I disabled battery saving under WiFi advanced settings. Seems to have fixed it for me. I'm running 4.4.2 V10L-EUR.
Using the Android Wear app on my phone, I have blocked all of my audio-playing apps (Google Music, PowerAmp, BeyondPod, etc.) and rebooted my watch. However, when playing music, I still get popups about what is playing on my phone. How can I get rid of all popups on my watch which are related to playing audio?
UPDATE: Google says:
When you listen to music on your phone, you’ll always see the music card with options to pause and play. You can’t turn this card off.
Dear Google, that sux.
I have DoubleTwist (for syncing to my PC) and BlackPlayer (for actually playing music) installed and would like to set BlackPlayer as my default music player. However, whenever I go to Apps > Configure Apps > Default apps, the only four lines I see are:
Browser App: Chrome
Phone App: Phone
SMS App: Textra
Could be a side effect of the new Marshmallow philosophy of "only ask for something (e.g. permissions) when needed, as there's no option to create a new default.
But I even opened an mp3 file from my downloads folder, got the prompt to select a music player, checked off "BlackPlayer" and "always" instead of "just once", and the Default Apps screen didn't change. Also, when I try to open a file manually, BlackPlayer says "Error loading track!" - though this may be a separate issue.
This is a problem, because I cannot start music playback with the screen locked most of the time (sometimes it works, but usually not) using my aux cord, which has inline volume and playback controls. If I try to use OK Google to play music, it says "you don't have a default app selected for playing music, please choose one on the screen at your convenience". But when I open the screen, there's no list of options, and if I say "play music" again it just brings up a search box showing search results for the Play Music app.
This is really starting to get on my nerves that I can't use the cord I bought with controls without first opening my phone and starting music playback manually. Anyone know how to force Marshmallow to automatically play from a specific app using controls?
When I use google music it shows the current song when the screen is on the always on display. When the always on display is on it'll show app notifications and the music app with the song underneath. If I open the phone to do something, then let the phone go back to the always on display it wont show the music app or the song that is playing anymore. I've gone through all of the settings, app settings, Google music, always on display, notifications... etc.. and can't get it to work properly. Has anyone had this issue?? Just looking for a fix!!
Same issue, I don't have a fix.
