[Q] Need help getting full root on 4.3 for Link2SD - Sony Xperia M

Hi. I'm having issues with towelroot and link2sd.
I have a C1905 Xperia M with a locked bootloader.
When I'm on 4.1.2 firmware, I root with cydia impactor, install supersu, busybox, patch with rootfix and THEN rootremountfix ---> I can succesfully apply the remount scripts, and my SD card can mount with the 2nd partition formatted to Fat32 (haven't tried ext).
But I'd also like to use 4.3 firmware... So:
When I try this on 4.3: I apply towelroot (impactor doesn't work, signature bug not found), install superSU, busybox, patch with rootremountfix ---> I ALWAYS get a bootloop when trying to apply the remount scripts in link2sd. If I try to use "rootfixer" at any stage, my phone gets unrooted and I'd have to "make it rain" again.
What can I do? Any help is appreciated. I should also note I'm not too android savvy. Kinda just getting into this stuff (my only previous experience was installing Cyanogenmod on my Galaxy mini a couple years ago).
Thanks!

If you haven't tried this one yet, then go ahead. But if it still doesn't work, then use this instead. It roots it right away. Make sure to use CVE-2014-3153.

Xperia play R800i error! please help!

hi, I'll been looking through the forum for hours and was unable to really understand how to execute my issues. Therefore i have to create this threat to asking for help out of no choice ( I rooted my phone 2 month ago using zergrush method and recently I wanted to upgrade my busybox and I uninstall it before reinstall a newer version, but when I am uninstalling busybox, It stopped half way and say there's some program that stop it from uninstall fully, and then my root access couldn be granted to my busybox anymore and it couldn be install back to my xperia play again. so do my Titanium backup couldn get the root access from SU. but others root access software remain ok. I reformatted my SD card and phone hoping to get rid of the error but my system apps(screen locker, silence mode) is GONE! and the root remain in my phone but my preinstalled data gone. I decided to do a flash to reset everything but Im scared and unsure. any pros please do advise whjat should I be doing on this issues? thanks in advance.
These are the steps I took 10 times so far:
1.Do a clean flash of 2.3.2
2.Root your phone with Gingerbreak
3.OTA to 2.3.4
All Fixed!
4.Restore all your apps with titanium(if you didnt delete backups)
5.Install CWM for locked bootloaders
6.Do a Nand Backup if your phone is working correctly and save it to your PC
BTW just download busybox installer from the market and you dont have to uninstall it before update, just launch the app!

Or you could flash the proper Cwm for unlocked bootloader if it is unlocked. Don't think you need to be unlocked to flash official roms

Superuser denying access to everything

Hi, I recently bought my Xperia Play already rooted (and retested with OneClick) and has CWM already installed with DoomKernel v03 and MIUIv4 2.7.27 ported by Sechko. The problem i have with it is that SuperUser is denying me access to things that require root such as X-Parts and Titanium Backup. I've tried clearing cache and data in SuperUser via. Manage Apps and even disabling it. Also turned on/off Root permission and turning off Manage App permission but none of this helped
I'm not sure if it's the FW+Kernel+Rom problem or something but i'm looking at trying to use a new FW, Kernel and Rom in this phone now but not sure how. I thought i almost bricked my phone after trying to restore some previous data that was left on the phone (got stuck on the boot loop):silly: Anyway, i'm looking for a good FW+Kernel+Rom that's good for emulating games and i'm considering:
TrueAncestor+DoomKernel v14,
JokaWild v3 + Doomkernel v13 or v14,
Gin2JelyBean v1.8.1+DoomKernel v14,
A normal 2.3.2 FW (and deleting bloatware somehow)
In order to do this, I have to do the following: in CWM clear factory settings (anything else?) first, then flash a FW directly in the phone on CWM (leave it zipped in the root of the SD card), reboot, then install Rom via 'install Zip from SD Card', reboot, and then install Kernel via CWM again (to replace the current one) and finally, root it with OneClick.
Advice please? I'm new to using an Android phone so please keep things simple and easy to understand Thanks

why don't you flash xperia root fix... you can download it from the thread from mark phyton ics as I got root from there and shouldn't kernel be pre-rooted?

[Q] Question about rooting

Hello everyone,
i want to root my Galaxy Note 2 and i don't want to change my current (default) android firmware (4.1.1 i believe), is it possible to root the device without installing the new firmware. I downloaded the odin and read the instruction which included the installation of firmware.
And is it compulsory to backup the data (i mean will the data be removed from the device when rooting?) do i have to get separate sd card as well for rooting or i can have it later when i want.
Will i be able to update my device like it does now while connecting to the internet?
I just want the root privileges so i can install apps to external sd card and use chainfire3d for tegra apps etc.
I'll be grateful for help, Thanks.
heres how to root on 4.1.1 without changing firmware http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31801060
also, after rooting, do NOT install chainfire 3d on this device it would cause a silly bootloop CF3D doesnt support jelly bean yet...
i did and saw you post now, now how do i stop this boot loop?
Reflash your rom and do a full wipe + cache wipe afterwards.

[Q] (Self-answered) Easy re-root with TWRP installed.

UPDATE:
After a little more trying, I ended-up using the 'Reinstall' item in SuperSU's settings (from the flashed version). This quit the app, and I re-installed from the play store one more time. This time SuperSU seems to be working fine. My /system was still mounted 'ro' but I was able to resolve this using Terminal Emulator to su (and grant from SuperSU), and running
Code:
mount -o rw,remount /system
.
I seem to be all set again now, perhaps the original unroot was unsuccessful which left the su binary behind... I dont know, but it works now.
ORIGINAL POST:
So,
I rooted, installed TWRP, and installed CleanROM 3.3...
Then my company decided I needed to have GFEinstalled, then they backed off.
I performed the 'Permanent Unroot' in SuperSU to be OK for GFE, but now I want root back (since they arent pushing me, and I want Google Wallet)
Is there an easily done re-root, that I can flash from TWRP? I would prefer to not have to use ODIN to CF-Root and re-install TWRP, if I could just flash back the appropriate stuffs. I tried just re-flashing the SuperSU thing from this forum [04.12.2012] SuperSU v0.99, this did not seem to work (SuperSU would just stop, and /system was still mounted ro)
Thanks in advance!

I was just searching for something along this line earlier today. I also run GFE and my company wouldn't think of allowing root access. AES256bit encryption isn't good enough apparently. Anyway, I just posted in the CleanROM thread that I wanted to root/CWM and install and configure the ROM and then unroot via SuperSU - basically EXACTLY what you described. I was curious what I would need to do to re-root in the future if I wanted to. I was wondering if I wanted to try a different ROM, etc then I could gain root again via ODIN, etc and then boot into CWM and nandroid, factory reset, and try the other ROM. When I wanted to revert back, I was hoping there would be some way to restore the nandroid and then flash an unrooted kernel so GFE would not know the difference since the phone never booted with root and GFE at the same time. Even if I could run some ADB commands from a PC while the phone was in CWM, etc then I would learn how to do it if it is even possible. I don't know if I am grasping at straws though...

After root no working camera

Hello,
I'm new to rooting a xperia z1 compact. After I rooted the device. however on the latest firmware I encounter some problems.
The camera don't work properly. It refuse to take any picture and the home and back button disappear. only way to go back to home is to lock and delock the phone
/system can not be mounted. So busybox installation by and app can not be done (yes i can flash it too but I don't believe this solves the mount problem)
Are this standard problems on the latest stock rom?
This was how I rooted. I downloaded an old firmware with xperifirm (14.2.A.1.114). After this I used flashtool to install both towelroot as supersu. Installed nut's xzdualrecovery with a .bat fille. Made a prerooted rom with the latest firmware (14.6.A.1.236) with PRFCreator_v1.1 and added superSU to flash this all with twrp on the phone (als applyed a factory reset to wipe cache ect.)
Fixed
I fix the problem already. Sorry that i opened a new topic for it.
The problem I encountered was normal for lolipop rooting. Since I found only old tutorials for rooting I found nothing about this. I solved it by flashing my pre-rooted zip file and than without an system boot I had to flash the ftf rom and exclude the PARTITION,TA and SYSTEM.
still not fixed the mount /system
Unfortunate I still not know why all root apps can't mount the /system. So all root aps can't work. Also the most important fix the writable SD card fix for app on SD card can also not be executed. Any idea what the solution might be?

I've never used prfs, but I have read of people having trouble. Did you flash NUT dr again? Usually that alone takes care of the r/w issue.
Thank you
You were right. I assume the pre-rooted zip does not kill the ric which might caught the problem. Nut's kills the ric fortunately during installation.
