I just got a letter terminating me from sprint for roaming. I'm not going to lie at first I wanted this and roamed a lot, that was the first two months into my contract. Now I love my phone and coverage is better but I just got kicked. I'm so upset but I guess I asked for this. I have until April 4 to change. I'm going to miss this phone. If I flash it to metro can I still use custom roms?

you could still flash custom roms no matter if you put it on metro or boost cricket or even virgin mobile

Sorry to hear that man, gotta ask what was your data usage lookin like.
It was like 1gb 200 minutes one month it was 2gbs on 3g the next month . So mms will still work on boost if I use custom roms...

Why? Sprint not cutting it for you?
If its any consolation the epic touch has great resale value. Maybe sell it and get the note with crappy at&t or galaxy nexus on Verizon. I'm currently using mine on Cricket and it fits my needs. Thinking of going with sprint once lte is available in my area.

Speeds are declining fast for me. Youtube vids buffer every 10 seconds for 30 seconds. I still have over a year on contract so I may exercise my "right" to get out of it
Thinking about it a little more, I just may want a new phone and sprint doesn't have any announced right now. I usually get a new phone every 6 months or so.... That Note is calling my name

If were going to consider any new device that's coming soon (which I'm not), it would be the HTC One-X. The Note is too big for me. The form factor of the E4GT is my limit.
Haha I would love the note on sprint or my future is probably verizon since i want to move to the middle of nowhere. My max form factor is 8 inches. Steve Jobs could have started a clothing line dedicated to "Hummer" phones and made another billion instead of whining that no one would buy one.

Do you still have to pay the early termination fee? If not I'm thinking about doing that..just to break contract with sprint. I'm thing the GS3 is coming to att and plus it support LTE unlike sprint only have two phone that will be coming out which support.

Also, I also wonder if you can get the E4GT over on Boost without doing some, how shall I say, questionable tatics.

GSM unlocked Nexus FTW. Got rid of my unlimited data and now I never have to worry if im going to be able to get the next Nexus. As far as you guys paying $30 a month, I didn't go with a pre paid service simply because I need to use my internet, I can't be worrying about straight talk telling me not to stream videos. Im im at&t's 5GB data plan which comes out to $42 a month with my discount.

Here is why they HAD to drop the price.
1. The S III is out and beats the Nexus in almost every Arena.
2. It's starting to be dated.
3. The one on the Play Store is cheap also.
4. They need to give a tug.
5. Better then $300.
6. Why do u care about this??? It's good. More ppl will buy the Verizon Nexus.
And now here is my question.
The one on Google Play is $350. That is half the price when it was first released.
So are u gonna say Google is treating there pride and joy like garbage Cuz it's the cheapest thing u can get off contract???

If I have helped you.... hit that sexy thanks button. ^_^

That's what worries me about the unlimited tmobile plan. People using network data as their main internet connection. Tmobile data will probably slow down quite a bit even though they are saying they have the capacity. I doubt it.

The last 3 months I have hit my 2GB cap with about 2-4 days left in the billing cycle. Luckily someone clued me in on calling customer retention and asking for the 5GB plan for the same price as the 2GB plan, which worked! So starting 3 days ago I have the 5GB plan for $20/month, which is plenty for me.

I use about 2GB - 3GB out of 5GB plan. I actually went over 5GB last month and throttling is unbearable. all I could so is send tiny emails, no app would work and I had to call them to disable throttling after my cycle ended. In fact when I called I was told they no longer throttle which was not true. in about 2 days they restored the speed.
Ok so I have an iPhone 4 that I am sick of and I am not eligible for an upgrade until July 2013. The Toro is pretty cheap on ebay and it looks like the Nexus 4 will not be available on Verizon. Should I pull the trigger?
And If I do, will it cost any extra to switch from a 3g phone to 4g?
Any input is appreciated :good:

If nexus 4 isn't going to Verizon there is no point in waiting to buy another phone. I'm eligible for an upgraded in January and I just bought the gnex. My main reason is that the nexus 4 has 16 GB of memory and no SD card slot. That isn't enough for me. I can use cloud services but since sprint internet speed is the worst in my area that is not an option.

I love helping others to be honest, Been helping for sometime now, but 'm not going to compare resume's with you. It is much better if people learn to form their own opinions than to simply be told what they should do. Yes I come off as strong but it was not intended as an attack on the user. Lets say someone posts what he should do and he does it and is unhappy with the result? All the information he asked for is available easily from the search box with a dozen of these 'should i buy...." threads with plenty of user opinions in them.

Honestly I would just wait for something better. I like my nexus and everything... don't get me wrong. But there are a few other smart phones that can do just the job. I say this because I'm not a big ROM user or mod. I just use stock and hope for the best.

Some people have hinted that there will be a Verizon N4 released in January.
If you like to flash different ROMS and want to have the latest version of Android definitely go for the GNex. If you're mainly use stock Android and don't want to tinker with your phone too much than you should probably wait as there will probably be new phones coming out in the next few months.

My mom went from her 3G HTC Incredible 2 to the 4G Moto Razr, and she's still on her unlimited data. However, maybe you are working with an incompetent rep (which is always the case when their goal is to kick you off the unlimited plans), so ask before you ask them to do anything in regards to switching over from phone to phone.
Edit: after readin the OP, I don't even know if he has unlimited data. Furthermore, I don't know what the dilemma is. Buy the Gnex or wait for....??? Unicorn Nexus????

How long ago did she do it, though? Round about the time the Droid Razr was their flagship handset, unlimited data was still an option, but is no longer the case. Currently, the only ways to keep unlimited is pay full retail or byod. Buying a subsidized device requires a plan change from unlimited and cannot be overridden by a CSR.

From what I've read the Nexus 4 is never coming to Verizon so waiting gets you nothing. I guess you could hold out for the next VZW Nexus device but who knows when that will be.
I would not hesitate one second to pick up a used Nexus. It's a win all around as they relativity cheap and you don't have to deal with contract extensions. If you can keep your unlimited data then it's a no brainier.
As far as the phone itself goes, the ability to run pure Android, open bootloader, the dev community, and being able to flash the last ASOP as soon as it drops make it the best option out there.
