Retail or Dev Edition Note 4? - Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What version should I get? I want to get any rom that comes out and I want to use this phone like I did on the S4. The Dev edition made me mad (as I did not know about it) for the S5 as I could not use all the roms. Just want every ones input. Thanks all!

[Q] S Note compatibility

Can users of Note8 and either Note10.1(original)/Note2 confirm if the version of S Note is the same? The 2014 edition note10.1 and note3 both aren't compatible with previous versions. Also there are many features missing from the app which I found useful (studying mathematics and the formula search feature in original s note was far superior).
I'm returning my note10.1 2014 for said reason and need to decide to go note10.1 or note8.
Also is there many good custom rom with s pen support? I notice omega do not do note8.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Note 2 root and note 3 rom

Good morning everybody
Hope you are all well. Well i am shortly about to become an owner of the Note 2 and am considering rooting through the new Cyganmod easy root feature, but am tempted by the features of the new note 3
(Only reason i picked the Note 2 is A cost and B its still very good value for money in terms of specs and performance)
My question is... what are the benefits of rooting this powerful phone and secondly how does Cyganmod fare on this device and thirdly can i get the note 3 rom to work after rooting with Cyganmod
Lastly can any members comment on how the Note 3 rom works on the Note 2 and whether you feel its worth installing or should i just use Cyganmod?
I apologize for all the questions but i am a complete noob at rooting but i know your all a very helpful bunch so will say thanks in advance and look forward to hearing from you
Cheers
You can't flash the Note3 rom on the Note2. Maybe u mean the DN3 Rom.
Anyways you do not have to use Cyanogenmod for rooting the Note2.
Just flash the rom and use cf-autoroot and wififix (if you want the DN3 Rom).
anyhow, not all note3 features can be fixed and used in note 2... furthermore, dev are working hard to fix fcs...
my suggest, if u are looking forward to note3 features, better u get the real note3 rather than the clone (note2 custom note3 features)...

Should I get the retail or developers Note 4 for Alliance roms?

I know this requires a crystal ball, but if I want to stick with an alliance rom, is there a better chance Alliance will make a room for the retail or DE version of the note 4?
As with other phones in the past, I don't see many roms developed for the DE versions. But now that the security had gotten so good on the note 4, gaining root (or using safestrap) is looking almost impossible.
What do you all think?

I thought you could flash the Alliance ROM on both the retail and DE version of the S5 (I had an S5 DE). Maybe things have changed. I don't know what to recommend. Most developers will release two versions of their ROM, a retail version and a DE version. Let's hope that is the case for the Note 4. However, if I had to "take a chance", I think I would go with the DE version. At least you know you can get a custom recovery and root. The prospects of either of those coming true for the retail version is not looking real promising at this point.
retail note 4 gaining root let alone safestrap is probably not going to ever happen

[Q] MIUI Note 3 neo (n7505)

Hello there.
I'm using my note 3 neo for quite some time now.
But, i'm getting a little bored by touchwiz. I saw MIUI running by one of my friends.
And I liked it right away, but sadly there's no rom available for the note 3 neo.
Is there any dev that can port this rom? Or is it 'simple' enough that I can do it by my self?
I hope one of you will answer tough,
Thanks anyway

Request: port of Bliss ROM (from Note 3) to Note 4...

I recently loaded the Bliss (Android 6.01) ROM on my Nexus 7, and it seems like a very nice ROM.
I noticed it's available on Note 3, but not on Note 4. Anyone interested in porting it from the Note 3 over to the 4?

And good luck. Official 6.0.1 for Note 4 isn't that far out. I don't see devs putting in the work when it's (official) coming soon.... But that's just my opinion.
You're exactly right. I'm not gonna waste time on leaks right now. Plus i have my hands full anyway.
