I was researching about using the hinge method to install screen protectors, and I'm just wondering if this will work with a tempered glass screen protector (Orzly)? Or just I just follow the directions using the standard method to install it. Advice would be really helpful cause this is my first time installing a screen protector.
I always use the hinge method. However, with the better quality protectors their application also gets easier

Hey! I have a samsung captivate, but we don't get captivate screen protectors here. Is there an alternate screen protector of another phone that can work out till i get a screen protector shipped from the US of A?
Help?
Thanks!
I found that screen protectors for a 4.3 inch portable gps work fine. I know our screens are 4 inch screens, bit the extra space around the edges allows for the gps protectors to fit just fine.
Also, try and find the brand Real Look when you do order. They are glossy, apply easily, and are super durable. They also stay slippery so that using the swype keyboard is smooth as butter. Also, it makes cleaning fingerprints off really easy.
Hope I helped

No problem. Those ones would probably work, my only concern would be if they are custom cut for those phones, they might not fit.

i had the same problem as you while i waited almost 2 weeks for my xtremeguard to arrive and bought one for a xperia x10 that almost fit exactly just had to cut a little from the bottom to make that curve the captivate has, it did its job till i got the xtremeguard
Hey, I've never used a screen protector on my arc, and though the scratch resistant screen is brilliant, I think I will use a screen protector for future use. What screen protector do you recommend me get from either ebay or amazon? I do not want to pay alot for one but I also do not want a rubbish one haha

There are a lot of screen protectors out there but what I have heard is that Copter and Invisible shield should be nice protectors.
Note, that some protectors comes with a liquid for mounting it. Be really careful not to get any of this liquid into the phone.
I personally don't use any protector but I think it's great that there are a lot of options available on the market today.
If you are living in Europe go to a nearby store where you can buy a voucher for crocfol.de.
15€ for 2 screenprotectors!
I've got one on my screen and it fits perfectly and has no ( not a single one!) Bubbles under the surface.
I really recommend it.

Arc has a factory applied screen protector...
And use search, we have a thread about screen protectors.

Were you ever be able to take it of your screen? I can't get it off... What is the point of a factory placed screenprotector when you cant take it of?
So that means I got two screen protectors on my screen? I think the screen just looks a bit like there is a screen protector, but there isn't.

I took it off, took 5 mins, but when you have a corner it goes off easily.
Yes, you have 2 protectors on the screen.

you can get 2 types gloss and matt, because i use my phone outdoors in the daytime alot the matt version has better anti glare.
the screen doesnt look too dark or loss of quality but you can see very easy in the daytime, got it from local phone shop
ZAGG invisible shield is the best screen protector i've ever seen, and tried on i-phone
Hi all,
I have the following concern - am I used to plastic screen protectors, which in most cases reduce the screen quality. I want to try glass but I think that it is possible that the tempered glass screen protector can actually scratch the screen under certain contitions, as most of them are really hard (for example a lot of pressure or chipping of the protector). Any thoughts on the subject? Has anyone experienced scratches from a glass protector under normal use?

I never have. The ones made from SGP will break in a certain way to cause no harm to you nor the phone. I have no clue about the other screen protectors

Theres a thread on the Glasszone. Hypertek is the only person who has received it so far so you should ask him. I should be receiving my yellow glass zone sometime this week so ill post updates on his thread.
Do we still have to use screen protector for this device? The only information I got is that it's oleophobic, but is it scratch resistant as well? Bought this device 2nd hand and it has a screen protector but it's cheap and getting scratches already, I want to remove it but I'm hesitating haha
Stock ROM, custom user.

Yes you need one.
Screen is not scratch resistant

Haven't bothered with a screen protector. Just get a case with a nice lip and place the phone in a pocket that doesn't also have keys and lose change.
If you did get a screen protector, a tempered glass one would pry be the best.

Removed my zagg protector today and noticed the glue from the shield completely took off the oleophobic coating. Now the glass isn't as smooth and attracts fingerprints even more. Just a warning to those putting on a screen protector, you may actually be damaging the phone.

I noticed that too. I'm sad now. I took the screen protector off cause I wanted the nice slidey feeling back but now it feels different

I have only used SGP Spigen ones and they are always really good.
Thanks for the info!
I prefer the ones you can re use. They work pretty well. when it gets dirty or has bubbles, you can pull it off, rinse and re apply. None of that sticky mess or hoping it's set right the first time

I use armor shield and they have held up pretty well
I can't remember where i saw it but a few months ago i saw the kit online to replace the glass screen coating....oleo whatever.
Maybe find something here http://www.globaldirectparts.com/Samsung-Galaxy-S-III-SGH-i747-AT-T-s/18091.htm
and how to take it apart here http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/search/samsung+galaxy+s3
I use self laminating sheets from Office Max. I Cut to fit and apply. Easy to remove too. They last maybe two weeks, but they do give some protection to the screen and it's super inexpensive since you get so many sheets to a box. They look just fine. I don't think they cling hard enough to remove any coating but I haven't really looked for that.

Have used armorshield with no problems. Cheap on Amazon and lifetime warranty

I removed my Zagg InvisibleShield from my S3 the other day without any ill effects. It was applied the day the phone was purchased sometime about a year ago. That was an expensive clear sticker. I won't miss the rubbery feeling one bit!
Maybe those having problems are following different install methods?

I took mine off, too, without seeing any negative effects on the screen. I got a tempered glass screen protector and now won't ever use anything else. It feels just like the original glass and protects the phone at the same time.
I like the Zagg stuff. I've had them on all my phones and never had an issue. I have the HD on my GS3 now and had it replaced a couple times, but nothing left on the screen.
ZAGG was pretty good for the iPhones.
Thanks for the heads up on this one. Phew.
Used Armorshield on my Nexus 4.
Probably will do the same for my GS3. :highfive:
