so i picked up my Pre ordered Verizon note 4 black from bestbuy on thursday and they activated it for me and when i came back home i opened the back cover and noticed the liquid damage indicators ( water damage ) on phone and battery were already red and i live in san diego so there is no way any moisture in air can turn them red.
so did anyone else received their indicators already tripped. and what should i do should i contact bestbuy or not because i know they r not going to believe that i received this as it is .
Mine are red too. Got the phone shipped from vzw. Are you sure it's not supposed to be red?
Do you mean your liquid damage indicators are more of a purple color? They're suppose to be that way.... Lol
If the liquid indicators are red ,I'd take mine back immediately the longer you sit on it the more they're gonna point the blame on you. you'll never be able to sell that phone or get a free warranty replacement if a defect appears later on. If I were you I'd call them now and get it straight.
OP can you take a pic of your indicators? I think this is just a mixup
the indicators should have a white background with red x's all over the white
i believe its red and if water damage it turns pinkish?
yea they have a bunch of red or purple x's.. when wet, the entire sticker becomes pinkish red. no more x's

Put some bleach on a Q-Tip and dab it on there. It'll turn back to it's original color (White).
Mine is white with red X's on it.

So I ordered the white back housing online for 14 bucks from china while my tab is sent off for newton ring repair at samsung. I'm looking for a white front border decal would be nice with a samsung logo. Would be nicer with integrated screen protector for a flush fit. Not to feel the edges on the decal. Please post pics of all white and even color swaps since I have a spare housing to paint.

I bought it and it came poorly shipped it was cracked at top and bottom . The tablet that i have has two plugs next to the connector under there are screws that hold the case on . The dissembly vids on youtube do not show these so i broke my original case. But the new case fits a little kreeky but thats ok with me. Had to grind off little ears off the inside to fit... Never contacted the company for a new one or a refund. Been busy or woulda posted this along time ago.

ohhh, I may have to do a conversion on mine!! I wanted to replace the back cover anyways due to a few blemishes and the screen has a few tiny, unnoticeable scratches (if you don't know where to look but I know they are there so I always see them)
Hello, I am facing a very frustrating evening with my beloved Epic 4G as the front half of the phone appears to not be getting power (i.e. no screen power/no LED when charging/nothing whatsoever). To top it off I have no backup, and I'm straight broke as can be. So I took the phone apart, and what happened is that the connection that goes between the back half of the phone and the front has simply snapped into two pieces. I've attached pics of what is broken and you can see my baby all disassembled as well (dang man this is not a very good situation). Bottom line is that my only option is to hopefully find this piece as the phone boots up fine, the keyboard lights up, and the phone even rings when called, etc... just no screen activity at all. I even Odin'd to stock w/o the screen working as the phone is perfectly fine except for the screen not turning on. I have confirmed in this video (Go to 4:05 mark in video to see the piece in 1 piece) that the piece I've shown as Broken is in fact supposed to be one piece, and given that everything else appears normal/functional I have no reason to believe that I have anything else wrong. Dang I love this phone and I need it to be working, so please someone tell me that they've got the hook up/connections to get this piece at a good price.

I take it you don't have sprints TEP? If you do have TEP I know some repair centers would fix it within a hour if they have the parts on hand.

i sympathize on your situation, also allow me to give you some advice, always make sure you have a soft cloth under the phone and you are not sitting on carpet. you can short out the phone. (static micro shocks)
Ok here's the backstory.... The charging port broke loose of the mobo from my Inc so my buddy had a good working Inc with a cracked digitizer so I thought hey I'll just swap that out no big deal. Well did some research and watched some videos and tackled it. Everything went smoothly until after I put the battery in and fired it up...... Not good the screen comes on kind but it's this weird greenish color with 1 bright line at the very top of the screen. Now I've tried switching everything back and forth a few times and no go. Now I have two phones that don't work. Anyone else see this before?

Update,
Now I just turned it on again and the screen stays black. No more greenish screen.
So you took the screen off of yours and put it on your friends? Were they both the same screen type, ie amoled or slcd?
1. Look under the battery of both devices.
2. Below the bluetooth and FC icon you will see "ADR6300VW."
3. If you see a "3" at the end (ADR6300VW3) then it is SLCD. If you do not, then it is AMOLED.
Other than that mabey the ribbon wires got bent and broken, or mabey the wires are not pluged in just right.
Sorry I never responded to this post. I ended up picking up a rezound. They both were the amoled screens. They did look different from eachother when looking from the back side. I thought I was really gentle with the cables but maybe they are just way more fragile than I thought. I'm going to order a new screen and give it another shot. I just can't let my incredible go out like that!

I just thought I would show you guys what I found. I like them but I wont buy one because people are reporting that the metal battery covers degrade your signal
Does anyone know if there is a non shiny white batter cover. Something like the Blue Galaxy Note Battery cover.
Those do look really cool. Wonder if they add any thickness or if the would fit ok in most cases....
Pretty cool. I'd try one if they were offered on amazon

They are available on Amazon. That's where I ordered mine from.
These duel metal inserts covers are available in both the white and blue framed variants not black. It looks black in the photos but its actually a dark blue. I ordered the light green a few days ago.
I'm hoping the split between the metal panels will actually allow the nfc to work because it doesn't with the full inserts. Ill find out soon enough I guess. lol
I had downgraded back to KitKat and had it setup exactly like I wanted it and had been using it for a few weeks. All of a sudden my screen would become washed out. Kind of like it was stuck in reading mode or something like that. Sometimes it will correct itself on it's own or if I enable then disable grayscale mode. If that doesn't work, then I have to reboot. After being locked for a few minutes though, it gets washed out again. I decided to go back to Lollipop to see if that fixed it but it's still happening.
What could be causing it have washed out colors?
Can you screenshot what you're talking about? And why would you want to be on KitKat?
Do you have the adaptive display enable?, is the rgb sensor blocked?
John.
I was going to try and get a screenshot but it hasn't done it again. Anyway, I just traded it for a gaming laptop today so doesn't really matter much anymore. Thanks for the replies though!
So, I got my tablet back and I have some screenshots of the issue available. Hopefully you'll be able to see what I talking about.

I believe it's hardware related. I was holding it at the bottom right corner when it got the green tint. Grabbing the bottom right and top left corners and bending slightly on the back of it causes the green tint. Bending on the front reverses the green tint. Loose connection, a short, or failing screen altogether?
EDIT: I looked at those screenshots while my screen is normal and I can't see the green tint, so this is really weird!
