Blurry or Pixelated photos? - Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is anyone experiencing any? I know our Verizon version didn't come with the plastic on the lenses right?

It does come with plastic covered the lens, you need to remove it. I used my finger nail.

My photos are insane and yes I removed plastic on lens

I guess mine didn't get the plastic on the lens cause I also didn't get the plastic on the side of the phone I seen in other unboxings

lol guys, the plastic on the lens covers everything but the sensor. it's not covering the actual camera. just the surrounding area. you can leave it on. mines still on.

Hm.. Try factory reset

Noticed the camera seems slower than my old S3. Seems to not focus as quickly as my old S3. Still takes wonderfully detailed pictures so far. Have only had a few days. Very nice so far other than the bloatware. Hopefully once root comes or you never know maybe big red will push out a update early, wow that would be a shocker! Either way, hopefully will take care of these issues. Been a long wait for me. Almost made the switch over to I6 and glad I did not and waited. Very happy so far, only been a couple of days
: )

yeah? I think it's faster than the s3 and s4 I had. hmm. it's an awesome camera! this coming from the guy who got rid of the s5 within 7 hours bc the camera was terrible... god I'm so glad they used the Sony sensor again!

Does your backing plate have any "give"?

mines has a bit of in and out "give" when i press on it. especially right underneath where the camera juts out.
i cant tell if thats the way its meant to be or not. i've not noticed it up until now, but it seems odd. its flush with the back of the device all over, except underneath the camera, where its kind of slack
anybody elses like this?
mine is. Its not a big deal. Thats the closest to a physical flaw and i dont even consider it that.

yeah, i figured
i just never remembered it doing that for the last week and i was worried i'd broken a clip inside or something
Yes, around where the camera is at on the left side! =)
Mine has it too
Not on mine...my cover is snug.
Slight creaky-ness to it around the edge, just below and to the right of the camera!
There are two types of back covers. One with the Google and Samsung words written Dully. One Bright. The bright one has none of that push in and out feel. The dully written one does. That's my experience with the backcovers....
mine is snug no movement

mines seems like it has just a lil tiny bit of give.. maybe the extended battery at verizon will fit?

Not on an HSPA+ version. They are two totally different shaped batteries.

Build quality = annoying

hey guys i really like the gnex but the build quality isn't really good
the backcover crunches in the near of the camera
and today i experienced another quality issue after 10 days of using the phone really carefully the bottom of the phone clatters when i push
for such a expensive phone it's really disappointing
is it just me or somebody else noticed that
Just you. Mine is fine.

Yeah there is a soft spot below the camera where it slightly pushes in. I think it is because of the design of the back cover

Mines fine, though the back cover seems to be fairly flimsy, definitely will get a case.
Use a bit of tape
I also noticed there is some space under the batery cover around the camera. It produced annoying noices when making a call so I just put on some small strips of tape. Problem solved.

Good idea. I will do the same.
i guess the gap is important to release the heat at the top part during data usage
after applying tape.. dont you have heat issues?
No heat problem
The space between the cover and the body is really small. A few single tape strips at the right place prevent the cover from moving. No heat problems at all.

Mine does this if I don't have the rear cover installed correctly. It still has a TINY amount of push, but less than a mm. You can't notice it unless you look really close to it while pushing.

Good point, tape may become super-stuck-melted-on after a good round of video watching or game playing.
I've had to swap my Nexus for another one when my vibration motor started making weird noises. When my phone would vibrate, it would also come along with an annoying hum like a screw was loose or something.
Only had the phone for a week before that started happening.
I have the extended battery cover and it creaks really bad. My volume rocker is also loose and rattles. I am going to Verizon tomorrow to see if I can find a unit that is more solid.
Sent from my Verizon Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Mine is solid as a rock. No creaking, no soft spots. I have a spare battery and swap it out once in a wile so I take the cover on and off a few times a week. It may just be that it's not sitting right.
Best way I have found is to start at the bottom work your way up one side then down the other. If any clips are missed or not sitting right it will feel cheap. Once they are all clipped properly, it's as solid as can be.

+ 1 to gnex build quality, not quite the heft of the n1 but it is as solid can be for a plastic phone.

I actually prefer the light weight plastic that samsung builds thier devices with. Look into a motorola or iphone if you want the battleship feel.
My post in this thread explains what that nose on the back cover is and how I fixed it on my phone.

Battery Door breakability?

The battery door on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus has 2 broken hinge things only 4 day after I got it... One is at the top, and is noticeably popped out, and the other is on the side so you can't tell its broken. Is anyone else having an issue with the battery door?
I'm not being rough on it or tearing it off the phone, I've taken it off around 4-6 times. Maybe I'm closed it wrong and it broke them. Seems really cheap for a $300 phone... Never had any issues with my other Samsung phones (Except that the plastic back scratched extremely easily on the Fascinate and Charge).
I'm pretty careless about snapping them in, but if you work from bottom to top, I don't see them breaking very often.

Thats exactly how I do mine. I tried doing it top to bottom once and the bottom prong things wouldn't go in.
P.S. Loved your work on the Fascinate! After I got the Charge, I wish I could have gone back... Especially for the ICS port.
I miss Voodoo Sound
You're doing it wrong.

I did, I called Verizon and they charged it for $4.00 even to my account.
That's convenient. I actually didn't know you could just buy a replacement back like that

Battery cover doesnt fit very well with camera?

I've been wondering about this since I got the phone.
The battery cover seems very much unftting with the camera, am I the only experiencing this? It kinda annoys me in the long run. If a "fix" is available I'd be happy to know!

Mine is perfect and I haven't heard anyone else with this. Does it affect your pics?
I would bring it back if it does. Maybe a dodgy factory build.
Do you mean that the cover around the camera can be "pressed in"? If that's the case then that is a common thing. If you don't like it you can try sticking some folded piece of paper with sticky tape under the cover under that area.

Good point I have that too. I thought he meant it was affecting pictures because some of the lens was covered.
I'm on my third phone and the second was like this. Drove me nuts. My third and first fit snug. I would take it back and ask for another cover to see if it is the cover or a phone problem. I used a heat gun on the cover to try and form it closer to the camera with a little success but wasn't perfect.

Thanks. much better formulated, I was having a hard time trying to describe the situation.
It annoys me deeply, and I'll try with the folded paper.

Ironically, I want to get a dust Cap for the earphone port. It was the main source of dust between digitizer and lcd in my sensation.
As for the spen, in assuming you mean the chrome part. You could always buy a new pen, our just use a silver sharpie or other paint pen.

Have it since release day on T-Mo. No issues. Then again I don't have the habit of "looking at it under the light in a certain angle"....lol.
