Stock Rom KDZ : E988 vs F240L - LG Optimus G Pro

Hi,
I've got a LG Oprimus G Pro F240L (32GB) Korean Version someday before. It came with F240L Firmware which had 80 Character SMS Issue & the Network it's connecting is Roaming Network ! I can't make Video Call / choose GSM-WCDMA-LTE in the Network Mode, it says In Roaming, I can't choose it. I need the Network to be set Locally, not Roaming.
I downloaded Singapore / Malaysia / HongKong E988 KitKat Firmware & Flashed using LG Flash Tool, In these Firmwares, I got the SMS Issue solved, Network Selection Issue solved but new Problem is these firmwares makes My Internal Space to 16 GB (usable +/- 10 GB). I don't want My 32 GB to become 16 GB -_- Upon researching, I got 32 GB Variant was only released in E980 (USA) & in F240L/S/K (Korean).
Now, What I need
1. No SMS Limitation
2. Network Selection 2G (GSM) / 3G (WCDMA) / 4G (LTE)
3. Not Roaming Network, Connect as Local Network
4. Of Course 32 GB Partition.
Do you have any Patch to make the 16 GB to 32 GB ?? If it can be done, then I can use the HongKong / Malaysia / Singapore firmware which meets all My Need, only the Space issue.
Awaiting for Your Reply xda Devs
Regards,
Mahfuz.

Hello, Im not a dev but can share what was useful for me. I own an E980 running flawlessly the E986 KK version with full 32Gb of internal storage.
You will need your prefered KK version of E988/E986 kdz file, the F240L JellyBean KDZ/TOT, and a copy of freegee.apk, also the tools to root.
Fisrt thing I must say is: Make a backup... could be using CWM/TWRP or using Titanium Backup.
Now the steps:
1.- Flash KK version of E98x kdz normaly, reboot and ensure to do a hard reset.
2.-On first boot, bypass the setup wizard and root phone... (roottool worked fine for me) and reboot.
3.- Install CWM using GPRO_Recovery_6.0.4.4.apk and reboot into recovery.
4.- Make a nandroid prefereably to the internal SDCARD... Reboot system and copy the recent nandroid to your PC.
5.- Enter download mode again and now flash the Jelly Bean version of your F240L with LG Flash Tools.
6.- Again a hard reset does not hurt, so.. do it and bypass the setup wizard at first boot.
7.- Root phone again but this time "E980Universal-root" worked good for me.
8.- Once rebooted after rooting process, copy the CWM backup you made on step 4 into internal SDCARD, install freegee.apk, select install CWM recovery, and reboot into recovery.
9.- In CWM, restore your nandroid, root it again via zip if you want, and reboot system.
These "method" allowed me to correct partition table (16GB vs 32GB) and no deepsleeping issues (modem related)
Hope this help you out.
Cheers. :good:

Upgrading to 2.29.405.5 (Possibility of buying new sdcard)

Hello,
I am thinking of upgrading to 2.29.405.5 from 2.29.405.2.
My device came non-branded when I bought it.
The only thing i've done is that I 've rooted it.
What are the steps that I should follow to upgrade?
Should I update using the update available through my device(via WiFi) or download to my pc and then transfer it via usb?
I am thinking of buying an 8GB card, is there any way to copy all the content from the old to the new one, without having to unistall sth? (I haven't used app2sd or apps like that).
Also, to get this right, what app2sd does actually? Allows me to use a partition of my sd card as an extra space to install apks, as the space available in the device?
Thank you for your time!
If you are rooted never use the OTA updates. Either use a RUU and root again or flash a .405.5 based custom rom. If you never used A2SD+ (the one with ext partition) you can just copy all files from one card to the other. (make sure you also copy the hidden files).
Here you can find some more info about A2SD
Thank you for your reply!
I've checked my files and found that I have downloaded this:
"RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed"
It should be from a link found at the forums here..
Should I install this one? I don't have to unroot?
A RUU will unroot your phone, but why not flash a custom rom?
If you want to stay close to the stock rom just flash Leedroid
I thought I 've read somewhere in the forums, that upgrading a rooted device will cause a brick. Is that correct? Or this happens via OTA updates?
Is Leedroid similar to sense style?
I am not familiar to all this, but I am willing to try, as long as my device will not be bricked!
Also does Leedroid support greek localization?
Upgrading via OTA causes problems for some people. But since you wanna flash the ROM using RUU, it won't cause any problems, you have to root it again, as said before.
Leedroid IS a sense rom, check out the Desire android developement sub-forum.
For greek localization - if the Eλληνικά is for Hellenic, then yes, LeeDroid supports it .
Yes Eλληνικά is for Hellenic
I visited the Leedroid site and saw that there are some problems at the versions 2.3a-c..
Is 2.3d a more stable one?
I know that, anything isn't perferct, but leaving original rom for a custom one and having problems with it doesn't sound good to me.. :-S
With Leedroid will I be able to use market and all the applications I used?
In example, I have already backed up, my apks with Titanium backup and my SMS with SMS Backup&Restore, will I be able to restore EVERYTHING with these 2 applications to the Leedroim rom?
For the above question I 've found here this: "Not booting / Stuck after boot animation – Allow the phone time to boot after flashing. Sometimes it can take up to 5 minutes. Also don’t restore system settings using Titanium. It can cause faults (unless you want to take the risk, ONLY restore items in GREEN colour font)"
I have stopped to follow the Leedroid thread, but most of the issues are user related and not rom. So if you do a full wipe and only restore data apps (the green once) with titanium you should not have any issues.
With the Leedroid you will be able to do anything the 405.5 stock sense can do plus a bit extra.
Yes titanium is good to back up your apps, no idea about sms backup since it's not important to me. Also you home screen settings will be gone and you need to re-enter your email accounts (maybe you can also backup email accounts with titanium). However, this would also happen if you use a RUU.
If you want to flash leedroid, I assume you are rooted with unrevoked and have Clockworkmod as recovery image?
If yes:
Download this
Put it on the sd card (not in any folder)
Boot in to recovery
Nandroid (backup)
Wipe data/factory reset (this will wipe all data on the phone, the sd remains untouched), wipe cache and under advanced wipe dalvik cache
Select "install zip form sd" chose Leedroid and let it install.
This will install the noA2SD version, if you want more space for apps look in to making a ext partition on your sd card and use this file instead.
2.3d is a stable one. And some functions are working better for me as on the stock 2.2!!!
So far, no problems/freezes etc.
Market is installed, I can assure you can use it.
Titanium backup is working too (however not tried SMS backup - but it should work)
I only backup the apps that I use(d) + the data for it and the so-called "green colored settings" and TI always restored it without problems.
Thank you both for your replies!
You really encourage me to try leedroid
What is the choice at titanium backup batch processes that will backup up the applications installed with their data?
Also, I 've been reading about this so called "radio", if I 've understood well, this is responsible for the call, sms, mms recieving and sending or I am completely wrong?
If I install leedroid (the no-a2sd version) shouldn't I install a radio as well?
When should I do that? Which one? (the latest found here -> 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27 ?)
To see if I am pretty sure of what I am going to do exactly:
* Download this -> trying to, getting a (5xx) error :S
* Put it on the sd card (not in any folder) ->with the name it comes? Or renaming it to "update.zip"?
* Boot in to recovery -> holding vol (-) button untill it boots to recovery, right?
* Nandroid (backup) - > select it through the choices available there..
* Wipe data/factory reset (this will wipe all data on the phone, the sd remains untouched), wipe cache and under advanced wipe dalvik cache -> select it through the choices available there..
* Select "install zip form sd" chose Leedroid and let it install.
After selecting install, what should I expect? (waiting time, etc.)
The batch process is backup all user apps + system data, and there you should uncheck the "red ones". You notice that it has the largest number on the right.
You can update the radio whenever you want, but I did after installing LeeDroid (the same way you install as the custom ROM) and no error. I am using the radio in my signature, but used 5.11.05.27 before, so I recommend to stick with that for a while.
1. The noa2sd file : LD2.3dNoa2sd
2. You don't have to rename it. Works with any name.
3. Yes
4. Yes, it is stored under backup & restore under Clockworkmod
5. correct
After install you should expect the device to rebuild the system/cache etc. - for me it took 5 mins approx, then it boots up to the home screen if everything is working correctly
Ok, so updating the radio is to be done after installing the Leedroid rom!
At last (after some tries to get the download working I started dling the file).
I might give it a try today
Will reply here, if I need any help!
Thank you very much for your help!
Careful when updating radio, this is one off the things that can brick your phone. Check md5 and don't interrupt the the process. If you don't feel comfortable updating radio, it's not essential.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Could you explain me what is the radio? :-S
By wiping data and installing a new rom, won't it be needed to update the radio? :S
Wouldn't it be deleted by the wiping process? If no, then why to update it?
As I see now the version of radio I have is:
32.49.00.32U_52.11.05.27
PS: I've already upgraded to 2.29.405.5.
As you said earlier, the radio
is responsible for the call, sms, mms recieving and sending

.
So basically it controlls the mobile network transmitter, bluetooth, wifi, etc.
And no, it won't get deleted when you do a full wipe!
Your radio is alright - I had the same when installing LD 2.3d and it will work on it 100%, so no update needed!
I really thought that it would delete everything along with the radio.. :S I still have much to learn
I finally downloaded the leedroid rom
Hello again,
I bought an 8GB class 6 microSD today.
And thinking of creating the partitions so that I can use the SD as internal memory.
Is that right?
Is there any tutorial I can read to understand this feature?
What should I do to create the partitions needed?
Thank you.
Read the first post of the ROM thread, it tells you what you need to have setup.
Then Google videos on GPartEd and use that to partition your SD card. Or just search the forum as it's been covered loads already
I know that it has been covered already. I just asked links because I am not 100% sure of what I am looking for. :S
Will look and reply here. Thank you.
Is this thread helpful for what I exactly need? :S
Also, I 've connected my mobile to the PC via USB and the icon at the "My Computer" window looks disabled. I double click on it but it says "Insert a disk at this unit...".
Could somebody please help me to prepare my 8GB microsd for the ext partitions...I haven't done this again and I am new to this..
Also any link to a tutorial would be appreciated.
Thank you!

I follow exactly the steps to recovery the phone and it was successfully recovered with my dad's original ROM but i can't get again the 3G conection...
i tested with my dad's SIM to be secure, but nothing... what do i do....?
3G connectivity issue usually caused by wrong or missing APN (Access Point Names) setting.
I suggest:
check Wireless settings -> Mobile networks -> APNs or Access Point names.
Check the same settings in your dad's phone
The chilean ROM in my topic (S5360L_UHKL1_CHLKL1_UHKL1) supports base settings for network carrier "Claro" only. If you have other network, then you have to set up the APN manually. Check this page: http://wiki.apnchanger.org/Chile

if you have the same network as ur dad and his 3G is working, try using titanium backup and back up ur dads phone, and copy the titanium backup created in ur dads SD to ur SD, also you need to install in ur phone titanium backup to and restore all system data from ur dads backup ^_^
that should solve it if u only lack APN

Guide & Mod:Telcast G18 mini 3G tablet [CWM Recovery][Stock Firmware][Partition Data]
Guide & Mod : Telcast G18 mini 3G tablet [CWM Recovery][Stock Firmware][Partition Data]
Hello,
I got myself a nice 7.9 inch Android 4.2.2 Tablet [16Gb].
This is a new tablet so no rom/mod information about it so I decided to put few things together.
I messed up my Modem/Radio trying to make CMW mod recovery but got lucky and found a Chinese forum with a stock rom.
That gave me confidence to mod like hell till I got myself a working CWM Recovery
Youtube Video of tablet
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ybz6yymWM7I&feature=c4-overview&list=UUUAnm9j-J2x3_nDDDxO2nlQ
Warning! use this guide at your own risk.
Root Guide:
Just download Framaroot apk and run it! It will ask you to reboot and that’s it...You are Rooted!.
CWM Mod Recovery Guide:
Download the G18mini Recovery and flash with MobileUncle.apk
Place the .img in the root of SD then launch the app and click update recovery. Tablet will then reboot into CWM . Do a full nandroid back up!! You will need it in the future or if you want to partition.
Or Flash with SP Flash tool (can find easily on XDA and included in full firmware DL)
Partition /data for more storage Guide:
This tablet only has 1GB for apps which is lame!
Make sure you have Nandroid Backup before doing this and copy the backup to external SD (required)!!! or use Rom manager to backup to external SD!
Install meteos-mtk6589-rom-edit-8gb-16gb-en APK
Run it and click the 4GB and follow the instructions and reboot into recovery.
Wipe/reset then do an Nandroid restore from external SD
It will show failed to restore SDCARD but don’t worry, boot into the tablet and format/erase internal (Flash storage)
Turn off the tablet then hold volume up and power to boot recovery. Do a full nandroid restore again from external SD…DONE!
You will now have 3.9GB for apps and 9.7GB internal storage!
Restore to Factory:
Stock Firmware DL has a PDF in chinese but screenshots should be enough to restore the tablet top factory stock (it uses SP Flash)

messed up but found the original firmware
Hello guys, I'm new at breaking into Android devices, and it seems I messed up when trying to follow this Guide and Mod.
Somehow I didn't do this step:
-----------
CWM Mod Recovery Guide:
Download the G18mini Recovery and flash with MobileUncle.apk
Place the .img in the root of SD then launch the app and click update recovery. Tablet will then reboot into CWM . Do a full nandroid back up!! You will need it in the future or if you want to partition.
Or Flash with SP Flash tool (can find easily on XDA and included in full firmware DL)
-------------
After root i performed the partition. And whiped data. So it seems that all data is erased, I manage to come to the recovery menu. When i afterwards manually copied the G18mini Recovery.img file to the root of my sd-card, and tried to boot find the update, it says no SD card can be found...
one option it gave was to adb sideload data into the tablet. Tried that, but did not know what data i should sideload into it. It seems it need a file.zip.
Somebody asked for the firmware, i found the original firmware from modecom dot eu -> support -> download -> tablets
I tried also to istall that, but did not succeed. It seems the drivers won't load into my windows 8.1 computer.
Any suggestion how to proceed? Can i get the original firmware installed by using Android SDK Manager? I hope I'll be able to save the tablet...
Did you solve it?

Me cannot restore from sdcard either. Does it mean that one should erase sdcard while in recovery mode? I did that, but the externat sd card won't still work.

[Backups] [Radios] [SS/DS] Backups of stock firmware and Radios for CWM Recovery

In this backups integrated root and recovery (SuperSU 1.93 and swipe CWM 6.0.4.7 from CM11)
There no any user data (your will be deleted) – after boot appears setup wizard. Internal storage keeps untouched.
ROM's can be installed on Single / Dual versions in any combinations.
Requirements
– unlocked bootloader
– installed CWM recovery (or persistent CWM for custom ROM's, flash from TWRP)
Important information about internal storage
4.1.2 keep files in /data/media
4.2.2 / 4.3 keep files in /data/media/0
So to have access to them move files in correspondent folder using root-filemanager.
Important information about baseband
– Every stock firmware works only with own radio version
– Basebands compatible with both versions of Xperia M: C1904/C1905 and C2004/C2005
– CyanogenMod 11 / 12 / 13 requires radio from 4.3 (new). Read more
– Older versions and non-updated custom roms based on it requires radio from 4.1.2 Single
Without appropriate radio will be no mobile network, GPS and may appears lags.
Radio normally flashed with ftf-file via flashtool or via OTA-update.
I invented to try flash radio dump via recovery as this implemented here
Thanks for testing and info @FindYanot and @PecanCM – it's worked.
So now you can easily switch between any stock firmwares without PC: just restore backup and radio.
Less brick risks as when flashing by other ways.
And no wiping internal storage like while flashing FTF.
All archives was tested before uploading and added recovery information.
So if you get error while extracting files – redownload archive. Problem on your side.
If you extracting archive on phone use ZArchiver (RootExplorer gives error).
If you got error "Can't mount /data!", then select mounts and storage > format /data and /data/media (/sdcard)
Warning, this will wipe internal storage.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
How-to
In short words: extract needed backup on sdcard, restore it without any wipes, flash appropriate radio.
1. Download needed backup
2. Extract from archive folder clockworkmod on external sdcard with replacing any files. There must be free at least 1 Gb
3. Download and copy on sdcard ZIP with appropriate radio version
4. Power off phone
5. Power on phone and when LED will be purple press once "Volume +" button
6. Create backup of current ROM by selecting backup and restore > backup to /storage/sdcard1. On sdcard must be free at least 1.5 Gb
7. Select backup and restore > restore from /storage/sdcard1
8. Select item with stock backup (stock_*) and confirm by selecting Yes
9. If ask Continue anyways? select Yes
10. After end of restore select Go Back > install zip > choose zip from /storage/sdcard1
11. Find ZIP with radio and confirm flashing by selecting Yes
12. After end of flashing Go Back > reboot system now
13. On question answer No
14. After a couple minutes of loading you have clean stock firmware with root and recovery
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Radios to flash via recovery
– 4.1.2 Single (15.1.C.2.8, 21 Mb)
– 4.3 Single (15.4.A.0.23, 21 Mb)
– 4.3 Single (15.4.A.1.9, 21 Mb)
– 4.2.2 Dual (15.2.A.2.5, 17 Mb)
– 4.3 Dual (15.5.A.0.18, 17 Mb)
– 4.3 Dual (15.5.A.1.5, 17 Mb)
Clean backup of stock with root and CWM
– 4.1.2 Single (15.1.C.2.8, RU, 500 Mb)
– 4.3 Single (15.4.A.0.23, SG, 607 Mb)
– 4.3 Single (15.4.A.1.9, PT, 676 Mb)
– 4.2.2 Dual (15.2.A.2.5, ASIA, 588 Mb)
– 4.3 Dual (15.5.A.0.18, BR, 589 Mb)

First try with dedicated radio ZIP.
If it not helps then use flashtool.
After selecting ftf-file there untick all except radio.
Thanks Bono for the files,
One question:
It doesnt matter using same radio despite C1904/1905 or C2004/2005 model differences? They work on different HSDPA frequencies, thats why I'm asking.
Salute

99% must be ok.
Because people flashed FTF-file (there radio too) for C1904 on C1905 and have network.

4.2.2 ? From Dual?
Anyway don't think that something can be related to backup.
Silly question, but does your battery charged?

4.1.2 keep files in /data/media
4.2.2 / 4.3 keep files in /data/media/0
So to have access to them move files in correspondent fb]2.[/b] Extract from archive folder clockworkmod on external sdcard with replacing any files.
9. After end of restore select Go Back > install zip > choose zip from /storage/sdcard1
10. Find ZIP with radio and confirm flashing by selecting Yes
11. After end of flashing Go Back > reboot system now
12. On question answer No
13. After a couple minutes of loading you have clean stock firmware with root and recovery

In step 1,2 you said to move downloaded file to another location... cant I keep it in my External memory??
In 6,7 you said to backup and restore my current ROM (which is CM 11 with me) and then flash the 4.3 file.. why do i need to backup my CM11 nad restore it again and then flash 4.3??
CANT I JUST DOWNLOAD THE 4.3 TO MY EXTERNAL SD AND CLEAN partition cache, cache and restore factory settings and FLASH 4.3 via CWM? Do I NEED A PC? plz guys help with this one as You guys always did in Rooting, bootloader unlocking and CM as this is my first attempt and also hepling me MEMORY SWAP( although it didnt work) ... if memory swap would have orked then i would have not needed to flash 4.3 as iam loving CM

You downloaded archive.
Folder with files from there must be extracted on microSD.

6. This optional to easy revert. You can skip this.
7. This restores not your backup, this restores (or flashing in your words) needed stock ROM that you downloaded.

This is not flashable ZIP, this is preinstalled backup.
Just follow instruction and you get 4.3

Does flash these files recovery.img (Recovery image), boot.img (Boot image) and
aboot.img (Bootloader image) is safe for my phone data like EFS, Modem, IMEI?
And also safe for my user data and my installed software?
I ask becouse many backup programs like Titanium Backup cannot work withot external SD.
Any ideas how to make full backup all my user and software data ?

So your phone doesn't recognize sd card or the recovery doesn't recognize sd card?
If it's your phone then you should try to kdz again.
If it's the rec then you can flash "recovery.img" via flashify (If you're on 4.4) and no need to flash "boot.img or aboot.img".
