Currently you don't have the permission to write.
That's file manager wasn't pre installed.
Hope it gets fixed in the next OTA update.
If you want to use IT NOW then I'll suggest you go for any custom ROM..!
The internal memory i.e 2.1 GB approx i dedicated to app installation only. This is one of the drawback in the Android One smartphones.

I have made some trick with adb but it doesn't work or partially anyway. It installed one app I think on the sd and all other normally on phone memory. I have 2.2 normal android, not rooted or anything. How can I install apps on sd card without rooting my phone? I will root it eventually just don't have time for it these days.
Go Settings > Applications > pick an app > click move to SD
The app will only move to SD card if it can. Not all apps can but most of them.

Will probably do that in a week or two. Is this option available, I mean to install directly on sd card, on android 2.3?

Think its the same as now, the problem with app2sd is say you have a 20mb App and move it to SD card say 16mb was moved to SD the other 4mb will still be on phone memory. Soon enough you'll still fill it quite quick, Using data2sd it puts everythink onto the SD card and you set how big you want your internal memory MAX size 2gb.
I have 76 apps and still over 1.2gb space to install apps read more into doing this you will also need a SD card class over 2. Am using a 16gb class 4 from play.com cost me £15 great buy Pny is the manufacture.

App2sd+ is just the same has stock app2sd, apps still store on phones internal.
App2sd is just pure win
Answer yes or no so it can be determined the extent of this issue and bring to HTC's attention.
(only vote yes if you have tried clearing cache and lost system folders etc. and you are still getting lost space in which you can only recover this space by copying all your data to pc then formatting then restoring)
I'm missing 10 GB of the 25 GB I should have still available.

The available space should be:
25.25 GB of (external) storage (Titaniun Backup says it's 27.0 GB instead of 25.25 )
2.25 GB if internal storage (apps)
1.32 GB of system space
So the total space is about 29 GB or 30.5 GB
Guys I had 17gb missing.
Download ES File explorer press menu - manager - SD Analyst and the very top folder may be a trash folder. I had 17gb of trash I had to delete.
Try that

[update] you posted a reply before I did, good to know it's solved.
Ah, just that I noted a similar thing with Link2SD and by changing the Link2SD settings to:
Settings -> Install Location -> Automatic [x]
I was back in business without any low storage space problems.
You may like to have a look at Link2SD and see if installing this application is right for you.
Out of interest what does settings -> storage say is currently available on Internal Storage
There are many cached files on the Internal storage and maybe some have a difference between allocated size and used size.
If you're only seeing the 'used' internal storage size reported, the true available(unallocated) amount of space may be a lot less if new/updated apps are looking for space not already allocated.
These are just some of my ideas and not know to be true for the XPERIA M at this time.
I have used SD Maid - System Cleaning Tool in the past and it's pretty good (all be it a bit quirky) at identifying a range of system file that can be optimised/deleted.
It knows about camera cached thumb files too.
On the XPERIA M in the Settings -> Storage there is an option to 'move' all pictures, music and video files from internal storage to your SD card too.
Thanks man i will check them too.

Mine shows total space 4.04GB . It's normal. Stock rom might show 8GB, but cm based roms show only the space available to you excluding the system files. Can you post screenshots?

It is okay if it shows 4.04 gb of memory...as that is the maximum storage space available.
You must have installed apps that's why now its showing 1.5gb left..

I think you backed up the rom using rom manager.
It use internal memory but it doesn't show
I checked my dads grand lol. It shows total memory 8gb. But my aogp ROM shows memory excluding system required memory.
So don't worry about it. Just clear memory by uninstalling apps and moving files to SD card.

And try clearing android folder
Hi all,
I've just rooted and changed the rom of my HOX and to be honest it's amazing how fast it is and the battery seems to last a little bit longer.
Anyway, I am not writing a new thread for that of course. After trying to install several Apps, I've figured out that my internal memory is almost full even if I only have 706mo of apps. I've moved everything I can from the internal memory to the "sd card" and still, it only remains me 1.28gb of free space.
Do you know what's this "Other" folder which is taking me 4.79Gb of space?
Do you know if I can delete some stuffs?
Thanks,
Alex
Hey
Hi,
It shows others which includes space for system partition and kernel and all the system which is stored on your nand memory.
You only get around 2gb for applications
If I helped you hit that thanks button
Thanks for your answer but I know that. I would like to know if I can get clean the space used by the system and the kernel in order to get more free space?

it's a fictional space that will make you believe you really have 32GB...
its just a dirty trick by htc.
in reality you have 29gb where 2 is the data 25 is the "sd card" and the rest is system.
