Bootloop problem!
Hi bryan2894, i have a problem of bootloop with the Rom but isn't only in this rom, its on all roms for this
device, i mean this rom i love it because I used it on a previous device but when i flash the rom following all the steps
the device reboot and reboot and same and same.
Recently, the user "gravitysandwich" togheter with SultanXda, discovery a mutex on cyannogen kernel, this mutex locks
the keypad and causes the device to reboot.
I will quote what was written by them:

Going to look at adding BLN some time soon and fixing the device shutdown when using flash on low battery (this issue occurs with all ROM/kernels and is caused by battery degradation).
Can you help for all the users with this problem can install this wonderful rom.

I haven't used PA in a while and was really hoping to use it again since its one of my favorite ROMs but for some reason, I keep getting the "Insufficient space" error. I've already tried full wiping, wiping cache, and wiping davlik etc and nothing seems to be working.

Upgrading from 4.6-beta4 to 4.6-beta5 via the OTA updater has caused my Hercules to not want to wake from sleep. After boot, everything seems fine until the phone goes to sleep, at which point I can't get the power button to turn the phone screen on again. Flashing beta4 over beta5 didn't resolve the issue. This isn't a Q or A, just a report of what is hopefully a coincidence or fluke. XDA made me post it here instead of the main thread.
Battery problems
Hey!
I have just flashed this ROM with WildKernel, and it runs very smoothly.
However, I have a weird problem with charging/my battery, which did not occur with the previously used stock ROM.
Basically, when the phone is turned on or on airplane mode, and plugged into a charger, it will say it is charging but actually looses charge. If it is turned off and plugged in, it shows the charging animation, but it doesn't seem to change it's charge.
The only way I have been able to charge it yet is to boot it to TWRP recovery, and plug it in.
Did anybody have a similar problem, and is there a way to fix it? It is pretty inconvenient to have to boot into recovery to be able to charge the phone

Update: I figured out what was wrong. I had formated my Data filesystem to f2fs for when I used Chet Kenner's LiquidBlood rom and since other roms I had used hadn't seemed affected by it i had just left it that way. However, when I switched the partition back to ext4 the problem was gone. Thanks for the help.
Hey guys. I'm an AOSP, AOKP noob. Is there a dark setting for sms, dialer, ect? I love this rom so far for my Hercules phone. It's been really fast and battery life has been amazing. Thank you

I have this issue roughly half the time.
Sometimes power button works as it should.
Sometimes the capacitive button LEDs go on, screen remains black for a short time, and then turns on
Sometimes the LEDs go on but the screen does not. A few time's when holding power button to turn off phone from this state, the shutdown menu comes up, which turns on the screen.
Any suggestions?

Another person on this thread said that they fixed their issue about not coming back from sleep by flashing WildKernel. Flashing a different kernel may fix some of your issues.
As for me, I fixed my issues by going doing a factory reset, flashing the latest stable (4.4.5) staying with that for a day or two, and then flashing 4.6-beta5 overtop of it. I'm not sure exactly what fixed my issues, but my phone is back to being as stable as ever.
Paranoid - airplane mode leaves mobile data on
I got a T989 from a friend the other day and flashed the latest ParanoidAndroid 4.6 beta5. Looking fairly good, but when I turn on airplane mode, mobile data is not turned off - I still receive email, and looking at the settings also shows mobile data on.
I did a fairly vanilla install together with PA GApps.
Snapchat breaking in-call audio
The phone works fine until I open Snapchat. After that, in-call audio on both ends stops working. Any update on a fix/workaround for this? Or would it help to upload a logcat when it happens?

It's a common issue, search the threads. You need to uninstall snapchat (and hangouts dialer, if you have it) and install an older version. The exact version escapes me, but it's on these boards somewhere. Look in the Q&A and General sections, you'll find it.

If you're using lollipop, camera is broken at the moment.
On T989.
Loving the L update. Downloaded last night been using since. Two things, seems like I'm having intermittent touch calibration issues. The other being Bluetooth crashes occasionally. Anyone else experiencing either?
Will continue using to find more bugs.
Thank you.

Hi folks,
Just a quick note on something we've been working with jonpry on. The title says it all - this is not an official GBX build/release, rather something I compiled from the current GBX tree.
As always, if you are submitting an issue -> post complete GetLogs output -> otherwise I promise you, I will ignore your post.
This is work in progress, so don't expect everything will be smooth. Having said that, it works remarkably well, and it performs at a high level. Here is what I know does not work for sure:
1. Auto-backlight.
2. No idea what the reboot option does, but I wouldn't be surprised if it just hangs your device.
Other issues I am sure will come up.
As always, props to ACL for LK/recovery + early nand pioneering work.
This comes with the usual disclaimers - flashing your phone is inherently dangerous, etc. So do this at your own risk.
Download here, and flash via CWM recovery. Alternative Mirror Location.
Kernel update containing bug fixes. Flash also via CWM. Alternative Mirror Location.
CRITICAL: ril_update.zip. Should fix booting problems form GSM flks. Flash also via CWM. Alternative Mirror Location.
Reserved
I'll take this post cuz I'm greedy.
Thanks detule, flashing now...
Edit - initial flash was gravy. Booted up, and it seems the g-sensor is off... Someone reported this on GBX0C on HaRET, and I thought he was nuts, but it's definitely happening to me. Rotate the phone left, and it goes to portrait mode as if the phone was standing up straight up & down. Rotate the phone so it is standing straight up and down, and the screen goes landscape as if I'm holding it to the right...
Very strange. I'll look into it, could just be a fluke or something I did to setup. I flashed, then did a data/factory reset.
Will test it later and reports problems.
Detule can you make a own git for this build?

Hi, thanks did you wipe data/cache and all that completely before trying this build?
You should not be experiencing FCs regardless of what rhodium you are using.
There is a small gbx bug where the phone app FCs on first boot but that is an isolated incident and is not repeated on other boots.

The build is completely stock gbx and is available from the xdandroid gitorious repo.
I had to hack the xdandroid rootfs to build a ramdisk for the kernel. It can be found here. It's extremely hack-ish, but it works for now, and can be polished later.
The kernel is a slight modification of the haret kernel found on the linux-msm-rhod gitorious repo. If we get good feedback from this testing cycle next step is to combine the haret and the nand kernel.
Kernel update with a couple of bug-fixes in first post.

Thanks, at this point I want to hear from a GSM (100/210/300) user for whom the build works, if such a person exists.
Actually any positive feedback -> if we can tabulate what device it works on perhaps we can get a sense if it's a gsm vs cdma issue or 100 vs the world issue.

Stays on blue screen - LK? You don't even see the flying text w/black screen?
Do you ever see the "flying droids" boot animation? Sounds like no... odd.

Mobile data still not working on Beta4
I had read that some users were having difficulty with mobile data on beta3, but it was now working after upgrade to beta4... mine still isn't working, any ideas? Screenshot fix is also broken now, and like others, recovery doesn't work. I'm going to reflash recovery and screenshot fix after I get home from work, but I have no idea how to fix mobile data.
Help
Hey guys, can someone help me?
My phone is rooted and the bootloader is unlocked.
What do I have to do next?
I tried to extract the boot.img from the PA Zip and flash it with Flashtool to my Phone.
It says "Done" but when I want to enter the Recovery, the LED goes Blue, but the screen went black.. Nothing more happens.. (I have no recovery Installed yet, I thought the recovery comes with the boot.img)

yes, recovery comes with the boot.img. Maybe You flashed the wrong boot.img? Try flashing it once again. Or Maybe the download of zip was corrupted.
Edit : Found this reading on, maybe it is an issue with the current version. Check this link out.
where is the paranoid setting menu? hybryd setting?
and, beta3 needs lot of time to reboot ~3-5min everytime when I do reboot its normal?

After installation Recovery stills not working. When I push the volume up button the led turns blue but nothing happens, black screen is all I get. And when a select Reboot to recovery in TWRP Manager app the phone only reboots normally
Got bootloop on reboot
I just try to flash the pa_nozomi-4.6-BETA4-20141009 today. Everything seem very nice and smooth until I reboot. I only reboot for first time to flash some mod, then i cant boot up anymore. I can only boot into recovery. I try to wipe all and flash this pa_nozomi-4.6-BETA4-20141009 again and reboot to double check and it still stuck in recovery. I think that a bug.
Now I try to flash older version to keep my phone running, will review later

For rooting the latest firmware, did you use the CF-Auto-Root from the main site, marked KOT49H.T900XXUANB5, or a new one made for the KOT49H.T900UEUANI1? If the latter, would you mind posting a link to a T900UEUANI1 compatible version?

Don't needed. You can root the normal cf-auto-root with latest sock without problem.
After we pm chat last days about rollback to T900UEUAND4 as unique possibility for rooting, i decided to do a last try before that, and luckily works perfect:
-just did a factory reset to restore from B3 recovery i been trying to prev installed T900UEUANI1 stock, wipe caché with stock recovery, odined cf-auto-root and voilá, just rooted!
No need to do the old B3-rollback-prior-D4 method now. Just a normal auto-root with no hassling.

When putting the tablet into sleep mode, it will automatically shut itself down. When I try to turn it back on, the tablet will only do so after I plugged in the charger. The battery itself is fully charged.
I've updated to the latest available firmware version that's available to me. I couldn't find any list of known issues, so I'm wondering if this is a common problem and if I should return my tablet?

Same here. It seems that the problem maybe is temperature: after some time charging it gets really hot and maybe can't awake from that and need rebooting.
I've disabled the magnet sensor vía 3rd app to off the close-lid functionality but don't improve the problem.
Here in summer the room gets to +30°c and the Tab ups to almost 65°c when it gets hot!
Maybe it just reach the temp threshold and self shutdown, or intend that not letting awake.
Perhaps CM11 build here charges battery too fast, with higher voltage than allowed and provoque overheating. I mean, i really feels that it's charging real fast..
Well currently its winter and cold. My tab was cool but it does not respond after deep sleep unless i reboot. Dev said he will look into it and i will wait. Not sure if temp is cause as mine was not definitely not hot.

Posted update last night, check it out
Thanks, btw, i was able to use ODIN to get a good version of TWRP and the ROM installed smoothly. I have encountered a few small bugs but nothing to report that is new. I noticed the "sleep of death" I think you are referring to, deep sleep resulting in a manual reboot to wake up. I have noticed my bluetooth disconnects and reconnects every few minutes during deep sleep..not sure why. will report back. Thanks SO SO much for the development, i love it, so sick of the green and blue and the settings tabs on this stock OS disgust me. I am curious tho, am I the only one who noticed significant slowdown and lag compared to stock? I do not put a lot of stock in benchmarks (skewed toward uncle sammy) but they also showed big slowdown....just my very humble and grateful early experiences. Thanks again.
total reflashing needed?

Well thanks, but,i don't see a flashing update but an entire 221MBs rom to flash..
Can you post just the little update file , if there's any, to flash above the installed rom?
I don't want to install rom, apps and config all over again.
Thanks!

Yes you are right, i'd tried again and it SODs no matter what temp are. A shame.

For rooting the latest firmware, did you use the CF-Auto-Root from the main site, marked KOT49H.T900XXUANB5, or a new one made for the KOT49H.T900UEUANI1? If the latter, would you mind posting a link to a T900UEUANI1 compatible version?

Well there's a problem right now, seems that this rom prevent to enter recovery.., this is what happen to me:
Reboot from Android with 'reboot to recovery' option and when the TWRP splash logo shows it enter in a bootloop always to this instance that TWRP logo appears.
Then i just installed the good old UAND4 rom and it works fine.
Maybe i shouldn't go to recovery direct from android to prevent bootloop happen and try to go the normal way from boot.
Don't know, maybe I'll try some day.., or maybe better wait to Android L comes to us.
Please advice all that stuff in the respective threads, i can't.., cause' these 'noobs-wait-to-10-posting-before' rules..
Greetings.

1. You can "dirty"-flash (install w/o wiping) the new ROM over the old one - nothing to re-install - if you wish you could extract the kernel (boot.img) and flash it by Flashify
2. There haven't been reported any SOD issues after flashing chhaggerty's latest ROM version
3. I have had no issues with with TWRP after having flashed the KOT49H.T900UEUANI1 - I just assume that some parts of the Firmware, not touched by cm, has been improved (but since this is WIFI only, it might not be the case for a non phone device) why I preferred to make the update.

1- but dirty flashing the update full rom performs well?
1.2- only the boot.img is needed for update?
3- have you tried the reboot-to-recovery option from android?
Thanks.

The changes done between the two versions (99% sure) was only some modifications in the kernel-code. Why flashing the kernel only should be fine, it will resolve the SOD and also make it run cooler. But if you wish you can also dirty-flash. However, cover your bases with a full back-up.
No issues at all with the reboot to recovery option

HERE it is
unzip the downloaded file
place boot.img on your SD
use Flashify to flash the kernel
after this I believe flashify will boot you up in recovery, just reboot and you should be good to go.
Just remember to make a back-up for just in case...

I hope they can solve the auto-rotate thing next time.
flashing screen, powering down...
I have twrp 2.8, v2 of our Cyanogenmod, set processor to on demand as suggested...
Still when I play games like CoC and others, if I am not plugged in even with a lot of bat% left, I get a flashing screen and occasionally my tab just decides it needs to shut off.
Any thoughts on what to do? I have greenify and Xposed installed too...
It pretty frustrating.
THANKS GUYS!!

My guess is that gaming need more power, why I would stop greeify and reset the governor to interactive while gaming. But other than that I have no ideas, as I haven't heard of this problem before.
This ROM is fantastic! Smooth, fast, responsive and just as described...big thanks.

I don't know if you noticed, but chhaggerty just released a version 3, maybe this will work as there has been some work on the governors.

Thanks for another quality update, notably when reading how other cm11 exynos versions always seems to break something. With your T-900 cm11, I have never had any issues. The latest version is still running smooth, the changes in the CPU governor will probably allow for better battery life with the added conservative setting. However, I don't know what trade-off this will have on performance.

Maybe they start to use the big.LITTLE behavior of the Exynos, instead of ever using just the full power a15 cluster (battery eater).
I've haven't tried it but since it's a 4.4.4 rom they should work fine.
Error flashing ROM
Hi guys,
I get this error message when I try to flash CM11:
"Can't install this package on top of incompatible data. Please try another package or run a factory reset"
This is a brand new rooted SMT-900 Tab Pro 12.2". Here's some notes:
- I received the error using V1, V2, and V3, all receive the error message
- I downloaded two copies of v3 from two separate mirrors (CA and AZ), both receive the error message
- I did a factory reset and still received the error message
- Wiped davlik/cache/system partitions
- Tried on TWRP 2.7 and 2.8, both receive same error message
- All I have done to this tablet is root it, install TWRP, and create one backup
Any thoughts? I can try using CWM if someone can give me a quick overview of how to install it and remove TWRP (or keep TWRP).

Shift Kernel on DN3 v5 for N7105
First off, thank you for all your hard work on this kernel. Your work is greatly appreciated. I am currently running DN3 v5.2 rom for N7105 on Galaxy Note II SGH-T889 for T-moblile. I love the rom with one exception which is charging the phone when turned off cause phone to boot. Additionally, if your battery dies you can't even boot up to charge and have to pull battery and charge separately until you have enough juice to reboot and insert back into. After some research on the forums it brought me to your Shift kernel. I flashed Shift Kernel 3.1 by wiping cache and wiping dalvik to no avail. I not intending to use this kernel for dual boot only as my daily driver is DN3.
The good news is the phone does charge when turned off the bad news is the Rom either locks or reboots after 30 seconds or so. It seems very close to working as I can open a few apps prior to lock up or reboot. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Should I be reflashing the rom over Shift 3.1? If so, how should I reflach (wipe cache wipe dalvik) or something else? Finally, is there something with SuperUser that may be causing the problem?
I hope you can get this working on DN3 as this is the only thing lacking as even wi-fi calling can be bypassed using Hangouts. Again many thanks for your work.

If you could get me a log WHILE this is happening it would be the fastest way to determine the issue. Adb is enabled as soon as it can me in the kernel so just flash, plug in to USB and in terminal command run "adb logcat log.txt" without the quotes and upload the output file. Something in the kernel or rom is activating at that same time I'm hoping

Stuck on Samsung logo
So, as a back story; i recently flashed back to 20140604-Mawrick26-N7105NEEFND3-S5Themed V3 after having CM12 on my N7105, i then rooted it and flashed Philz CWM recovery
Then i flashed 6.58.9 DUAL BOOT PhilZ Touch Advanced, because i wanted a dual boot of a original sammy rom and CM12, i followed the instuctions from the link;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-2/development-n7105/kernel-08-15-14-t2849082
i had my battery at 100% and selected ''Create system.img'', and i waited over night for it to finish, when i woke up it was still at it, i expected it had crashed so i long pressed the power button and now it wont boot into the stock sammy rom, i cant even go into recovery or download mode, and ofc odin doesnt detect it when its stuck on the samsung logo, any idea's on how to fix it? even if it means going back to a stock sammy rom with knox, ill get past that again

I switched from cyanogen in this rom without going through the stock

when I close all apps and restart the launcher

I have tried both with odin as the zip on the official site but remains the CWR how can I fix it?

same problem !!!
Even i got the same prob....not able to boot tried many ways.
where i can add more screen ?? only 2 is not enough
Works very fine here, thx a lot!
To me it worked by me: First I install the ROM (Nameless) without GAPPS, you normally turn on and then ended if I go to recovery mode and install the appropriate applications google. Then when the ignition process ends (you will say that you are upgrading 25 applications) expect that ... when you restart it again ends in recovery mode and install the superuser. Then I remained only boot animation, flickering at the start and I was heavy on him, look at this forum and found a file to change the boot animation and now he's all right.
The only problem and not as problem is that the signal from the Wi-Fi is always shown with a line less intensity and cell signal is detailed as if poor, but it is only visual, because it does not affect your framerate, I have Internet appliance near me and works properly until I data signal.
Works great for being an operating system so immature, many thanks to the developer from Argentina.
