I am curious as to what kind of 3G speeds are being seen using the International version of the Tab S 8.4 on the AT&T network.
I was thinking of returning my AT&T LTE 8.4 707 model
Which currently gets about 13Mbs up and 4Mbps down and getting an unlocked Tab S if the 3G 705 model gets respectable speeds.
Thanks
Was able to answer my own question.
Switched to a SM-T705 Unlocked 8.4 on AT&T and my 3G Speeds are 1.91 Mbs Up and 1.40 Mbps down.
Good enough for me since I mainly use WiFi and only use 3G in the car and really wanted true phone capabilities. :good:

Hello,
I have Galaxy II with Tmobile data plan. 4G speed connection is great.
I just switched the phone to Galaxy III 9300 international version, which is a gift from my brother... I mananged to cut the current tmobile sim card smaller and put in the 9300. I am able to make the call, but cannot enable the 4G data connection.
Just wonder will 9300 version will work with tmobile 4g network. should I need to upgrade or flash Tmobile flavor Android ROM to 9300 to get 4G network with tmobile?
Thanks
NO! The hardware between the international version and the US variants is different. Flashing the TMO rom will brick your device. The only GS3 version that will work with TMO 4G is the T999, which is the TMO version. It is the only one that supports the 1700 MHz frequency that TMO uses for HSPA
DONT DO IT!!!!!!!
sent via galaxy s3 in boss mode @ 2.1ghz
Omg....please for your phones sake do not do this. If u wanted 4g data u shouldnt have got an international gs3 if they refarm the 1900 mhz band where u live soon u will be in luck with 3g. But until then u are stuck on edge. Read up some more to dont go flashing anything that isnt for your phone
Not a chance. You'll have to wait for T-Mobile to roll out 1900mhz towers if you want 4G on that phone.
OH GOD.. I am in luck.... I live in Atlanta area and I just checked out I9300 international phone speed... I see H+ and 3G signal indicator in my phone. I did not see it when I was inside the house... I did speed test and 5 MB up, 1MB down... So I will keep i9300 with me...

Sure you can flash but your phone will be useless after that
Hi is there a way to get 3G speeds on my international Galaxy Note 2. I have the N7100 version from India, and am using it on T-mobile prepaid here in the US, but I am only getting EDGE speeds. Is there a way to get better speeds (HSPDA or 3G, or maybe even 4G?)
I found some solution here looking through the forums, but seems for the original note, and only for the AT&T version. Any further help would be much appreciated.

Move to an area that has a lot of refarmed 1900 mhz towers.

Wait for the modem hacks. People are already starting swap modems and roms between the different phones. Give it a little more time.
So I am looking to switch to T-Mobile from sprint and want to get the S3. I understand the T-Mobile GS3 works on HSPA+ and operates on the 1700 Band. I also see that the T-Mobile version does not have LTE. Now the ATT version operates on the 1900 Band and will only work on slower speeds until T-Mobile activates the 1900 Band here. Spoke to several reps and they state sometime this month. Will the ATT GS3 have the LTE that will work on T-Mobile when they activate it? So would it be better for me to get an ATT GS3 so that I have LTE when it becomes available? Thanks in advanced

I have Tmobile and it works ok, It depends on the service coverage cause where I live I don't get 4G on any carrier lol.
That's a tough question to answer. Is it a matter of want or need LTE on your mobile device?
Arguably, at&t has better service than t mobile. But since t mobile is still at the stage of refarming their antennas/towers, Tmo could be just the same as their counterpart after its done. I have t mobile and coverage has been excellent. Data speeds are speedy but not quite as fast as at&t's LTE.
On HSPA+, i get great to decent speeds that can get all of my mobile needs online. It would be a plus to have LTE but i don't need it.
Do you get what i trying to get at?
Sorry i had to write this quickly.

I say go for the Tmobile S3. T-mobile's LTE rollout won't be for a long while, and even when it does become available we don't know if it uses the same LTE band as ATT. My guess is that it won't. Tmobile's HSPA+ is plenty fast where I live for all my needs. You will only get EDGE (2G) speeds with TMobile on the ATT version of the S3 until Tmobile refarms their network. But even if they do refarm where you live by the end of the month, the many other places will still only be covered with the 1700 spectrum.
S3 on Edge is a pointless phone. Even with the 1900 mhz bands rolling out, your data will be spotty at BEST. Even in NYC Manhattan, the 1900 mhz bands are probably 20% complete. Go with the TMO version and you won't regret it.
I get up to 25mbps I average about 7-12 who cares about LTE? Go with T-Mo its cheaper and you will get faster speeds. At my home I get faster data speeds than my baby mama on ATT with her HoX soon to be OG Note
sent from my Samsung Gangster S III on the T-Mobile network
I also have the same dilemma.
If T-Mobile will use LTE on the same frequency as ATT currently does, won't using the ATT SGS3 future proof it for LTE on T-Mobile network?
Am I missing something or do these devices have same specs (except T-Mo having 1700) once 3G moves to 1900 on T-Mo?
OP, I suggest you test T-Mo's network for coverage and speed in your area. I will be doing the same.
Get the T-Mobile version if you value fast data speed.
Don't buy a phone and hoping that it will have the correct technology to work on a network that has not even start to build yet.

I am currently using CAMA4 on JediXp16+ Saber35.6. Tmobile is Rolling Out LTE in Jacksonville Florida. I am getting decent Speed test Results. I ask this because I remember the last Update not everybody was too happy about it. Even At&t customers were getting slower Speed test results on wifi and there mobile data. So which baseband works better for Tmo LTE on Unlocked Sgh-i317???...Yes I have already Enabled AWS band for 4g Tmobile and im currently on LTE
Here is my Device settings and SS of speed test
Hi. I've searched for months. I'm not a novice, but I'm not even close to programmer... I've a Samsung S4 mini i9195i running 4.4.4 . I rooted as soon as I got it, everything works great except 4g. I'm on tmobile in the USA, and I can't figure how to get 4g operable. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

T-Mobile LTE won't work on the S4 Mini. T-Mobile uses a very specific LTE radio band (1700 mhz) that is only available on specific (usually T-Mobile branded) phones. You can use 3G and lower with T-Mobile on the international phones, and T-Mobile's original 4G (HSPA+) is just a boosted 3G.
