Restoring a Nandroid caused to lose access to internal storage
Hi all,
Im new here and Im here because I found you googleing for my problem.
I have the same problem indicated by boeser: After a restore I can't write to my intarnal sorage anymore.
Please note that I didn't install any rom. The only change is that I installed "openrecovery-twrp-2.7.1.1-chagallwifi.img".
I used twrp to make backups and all seemed go well. Unfortunately, a few days ago I tried restoring old backups. Restoring was successful and everything seemed to work fine.
After a while however, I realized that programs are not able to access to internal sd anymore and some of them don't work correctly.
My system is Samsung Galaxy Tab T805, rooted, android version 4.4.2. I fixed also (using SDFix) the issue that did't allow to write to external Sd card, so I have no problem with extSD. The problem affects only the internal Sd.
I tried every poosibility to change permissions. I used RootExplorer and X-plore with the most powerful option, I tried to fix permissions in recovery mode, I tried to change them also in recovery mode, but no way.
I'm not an android expert and I run out of solutions. Have you any suggestion?
Please help
Thanks a lot in advance

[Q] My Phone Explorer Question

I lov using my phone explorer app, Everything works great except I used to be able to control my phone using my PC keyboard n mouse in the phone view.
I've upgraded my my phone to CM7 and it give an option to select My phone explorer as an external keyboard.
I cant get it working without selecting the option of external text in the appropriate input on my phone which sort of defeats the whole remote angle.
Can anyone help please ....
Bootloop solved
I read this thread trying to figure out why my phone (marvelc A510c virgin mobile) went into bootoop after trying to installing simonsense3.5 rom, and thought I'd share my success story. This is actually my first post. I want to hopefully save someone like me HOURS of heartache over a stupid solution.
Background (roughly):
Unlocked bootloader via htcdev, worked great.
Used Simonsimon34's htc utility and it worked okay. I still had to use the htc supertool to get root.
Got cwm 5.0.2.8 installed and made a backup rom
Downloaded simonsense3.5 rom and attempted to flash it, but phone hanged in recovery. After that, I was stuck in a bootloop. Could still get into recovery, but cwm would hang ALL the time doing things like wiping and I couldn't get it passed "Opening Update Package" when flashing new roms. I read forum after forum, reformatted my sd, wiped partitions, got a second sd, tried 3 or 4 roms people swore would work, did it all over again. Nothing! I found a thread that said to back cwm down to 5.0.2.6, but that didn't work. This went on for two days and I was getting desperate.
SOLUTION:
I finally found a thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1213229) that posted cwm 4.0.xx (the "previous version" link) and at my wits end flashed that, and wouldn't you know it, success! CWM was the problem the whole freaking time! I used the cwm partition creator to make a fresh 1024b partition on a fresh sd, wiped everything, put the rom on, and installed simonsense3.5 on the first damn try. The rom works okay, but I'm having some bugs... but that is another forum.
Good luck!

[Q] Problem with jelly bean on Huawei u9200

Hi guys!
I had rooted u9200 on ICS firmware version B100, but I didn't manage to unlock bootloader to install CWM. So I decided to flash update 4.1.1 B508 offical beta firmware. I had to change build.prop to match the B508 version and I succesfully flashed 4.1.1 update. The problem now is that I can't root it. No way, I tried everything, not a chance. Also I can't downgrade because I have to change build.prop again to match the version I'm trying to downgrade to, but since I don't have root access I can't change build.prop. So now I'm stuck on unrooted beta version of 4.1.1.
Plese if anyone has any ideas and suggestions do not hesitate to write.
Out with the old, in with the new
So, I finally menaged to root 4.1.1 and to flash cwm. So now I flashed CM10 4.2.1 and it's working fine, but... When I go to settings/storage I can see my internal memory as "Internal storage" 2.14GB and I can see my sd card as "sd card" 29.78GB, but from any file menager I tried to use the situation is different, I see my internal storage as "sd card" and my real sd card is nowhere to be found, I can't access it from anywhere. The card is working fine, I tried it on my pc, and I used it to install this CM10 I'm on now.
Anyone with similar issues?
Please help me.

Hi,
I have the exact same problem and have been scouring the internet for answer.
I bought my P1 in Hongkong, so had a Hongkong stock B104 firmware, i used unlockroots software to unlock it successfully, but like you did not put any recovery on it, so have no way to flash a new rom or any recovery. i also like you edited the build.prop file using root explorer and flashed B508 (Jellybean).
1) Can you please tell me in a step by step guide how u managed to get CM10 & recovery on your phone & where u got the software etc.
2) I have backed-up my phone using Hisuite and Hicloud using cload software to the Internet & SD cards, will this be ok or will your procedure erase my SD card and will i be able to restore.
3) How would you rate CM10 compared to B508 firmware, is everything working as it should.
Your help would be much appreciated, and i would be extremely grateful.

Hi!
I used this guide to root, unlock bootloader and install cwm (I know the b508 is 4.1.1 but it worked for me): http://betanews.com/2012/11/13/how-to-root-android-4-2/
Download recovery image from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?pdaj3bohegu0vox
ROM is here (if you haven't found it already): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1930207
I don't know if you will be able to restore, but I don't see why not. I used titanium backup, you must be careful not to restore any system apps or settings. Also make a full backup from recovery before restoring because it's possible that it gets stuck on boot. Also it will not erase your SD card but it might be wise to use a clear one just in case.
I've been using this ROM for some time now and it works great. The only thing that bothers me is that video recording doesn't work, but I guess this will be solved in new versions.

Thanks for that, the tutorial mentions putting the phone in to fastboot, i have tried holding vol up & down buttons with power, phone just reboots.
I saw others saying to first take the battery out, how the heck do you take the battery out of the Ascend P1 (U9200)?
Could you please tell me how you proceeded at this step, also do you have google play working on it?
Would i not be able to flash a recovery image on the phone using AndroidControl app, it has a tab for flashing recovery but did not want to try it without asking if you tried this method?
Thanks in advance.

Turn off the phone, hold the volume down button and then plug in the usb cable. This should turn the phone on and put it into fastboot.
After that just follow the instructions provided in the link above. I got a few error messages in the process but I proceeded with all commands and it worked.

Have you tried AndroidControl as it seems to have all the files thats mentioned in the tutorial and makes flashing recovery supposedly easy, i wonder if it will work on an unrooted phone.

I have and it didn't work for me. You can try it for yourself if you want to. But this tutorial is easy enough for everyone I think, you just type in the commands it says and that's it.

UPDATE: I was able to flash the recovery using AndroidControl, i installed the driver first in fastboot mode and then restarted the phone, while still connected to the pc i ran AndroidControl then chose the flashing tab and flashed the recovery using cwm touch recovery, and then flashed with supersu file you gave me, to give me root acess, all went fine and my phone is now rooted with cwm touch recovery.
I still have not upgraded to CM10 as i wanted to see how B508 will be with Google play now working. As i did not have a recovery mode which could flash zip from sdcard, i was unable to flash gapps zip, i have now flashed gapps and all is working fine.
What was the reason you changed to CM10 rom, was the beta version of B508 not very good for you, i would really like to know what the difference is before flashing another rom?
Thank you very much for your help & assistance and your prompt replies.

Hi!
I'm glad to hear you made it. Why I use CM? Well, there really is no good answer to that. I was using CM on all my other phones too, I'm used to it, I like its speed and stability, I like look and feel and also I like it's additional options. That being said, there is one problem not with CM but with Jelly bean in general. Android 4.2 has a different directory structure, due to its new multiuser features. The problem with that is that you can't install apps on sd card and you can't use directory bind to bind data from sd card. So if you wish to play some games on your phone you will be limited by your phone's memory capacity. I hate this, I used to have a lot of big games on my phone and now I can't have more than two at the same time. At the moment I'm reverting back to 4.0.3 ROM just because of that, at least until theres some kind of solution or workaround for this.
Also theres nothing stopping you from playing with other ROM's. Just make a full backup in recovery and you can always go back to the ROM you find most suitable. In fact I would encourage you to download a few ROM's and try them out, see which one you like the most and which one suits your needs the best.

Thanks for your advice, you & this forum have been nothing short of brilliant, i myself is contemplating going back to ICS 4.0.3 as it also had the option to install apps on to the SD card, as it is my phone memory is almost full which makes even updating apps difficult as there's no more room to even do this.
I've tried certain apps like gemini app manager & driodsail to move apps to the SD card but none of these seem to work. I'm thinking of trying the official B226 firmware from Huawei just to see if it is ok, i know by doing this it will erase the root permissions, as i can't find a rooted version of this firmware and so will need to root again, but now that i have touch recovery on the phone it will be i presume easier to do this.
I hope they have made improvements on B226, because one of the reasons i actually upgraded to JB 4.1.1 was the sound from the stock google music player seemed low in comparison to JB where the sound was a lot better.
Do you think Huawei will release an official Jellybean firmware for this phone?
Any way thanks again, and keep in touch by letting me know how you got on, would be interested to know on what Rom and why and i shall also let you know on anything that i try or use.

Hey!
I managed to solve the problem with low internal memory on 4.2. I partitioned my sd card with Mini tool partition wizard, made [fat32 ~16Gb] [ext4 ~ 14Gb], and then I used Mounts2SD app from google play to mount my ext partition as internal storage (Reversed Mount option in app). So far everything seems to be working just fine. (I tried the normal mount, just to move data folder to sd-ext but it didn't work).

Hey,
That's great news, i can't even download Mount2SD from google play as it keeps on saying i have insufficient space on internal storage. I have 255mb left surely this app is not bigger than that, so what could be the problem? as i cant even update existing apps. maybe something got messed up and it's either giving the wrong internal storage amount or something, as i was able to update apps from the google play as soon as i rooted and flashed gapps.zip. Now after that first lot i can't seem to download anymore apps or even update them as it's reporting as insufficient storage space and this is with even un-installing some apps. I may have to flash the firmware again to get rid of any crap that was in there and flash recovery/root & gapps as well.

Just try to do a full wipe and reflash the rom. I'm still using CM10.1 and it works great. (except the video recording still doesn't work). Be sure to flash the right version of gapps. You can partition your sd card before doing all this, you can even partition it with cwm but it supports the maximum size of 4Gb, so I used mini tool partition wizard (as I mentioned before). When you're done, install mounts2sd from google play, install scripts from there and choose reverse mount option, restart your phone and that should be it, your sd-ext partition is now mounted as internal storage. I strongly recommend class 10 sd cards for this, I'm using one myself and so far haven't experience any lag, even games work perfectly.

Thanks mate, i'll give that a go.
Just out of interest now that you have changed the format of your microsd card to ext4, is it still visible as a drive when you connect to the pc,or did you have another program in Windows to make them visible?

Yes, if you connect it as MTP device it shows as u9200 device with two partitions: internal storage (which is sd-ext partition) and sd card.

[Q] Help with installing a ROM.

Hi all
Hopefully someone will be able to help me here as have spent all day going round in circles and finally decided I need to stop stabbing in the dark and ask for help from people who know what there doing.
My son has a Sony Xperia M (C1905). He's always running out of space with all the games he likes to play on it so I thought I would move them to a removable 8GB SD card for him. After downloading and installing a app that should have allowed me to move them I was still unable to so I did a Google and found out that its not possible with this phone with out rooting it.
At this point I started looking into how to do it and found out I needed to unlock my boot loader. I used this site (developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader) to get the code required and used the code in "Sony Mobile Flasher by Androxyde V0.9.18.1" to unlock it with out any problems. When I restarted the phone it would get stuck on the operator logo (Three UK) no matter how many times i restarted it or pulled the battery out.
Since then I have tried various different ROMS for the Xperia M, both installed via the CWM (zip file) and via the flash program (ftf file), also I have tried a few different versions of the CWM. All of this has got me no closer to getting the phone working again. I either get errors while trying to install the ROM or it installed fine and just goes into a boot loop.
I don't believe I have bricked the phone as I can still do everything on it (flash more, fastboot mode, format etc in CWM) i just cant get the phone to boot up correctly. Also drivers are installed on my pc fine so dont think its a problem with that either. I do think it cold just be not using the correct ROM, CWM, KERNEL?
Would someone please be able to help me out here and give me a step by step guide of what I need to do (in simple terms) along with what files to use. I'm not after the latest Android version as long as its a recent version, the only thing it has to be able to do is move apps to the SD card.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Hi,
You will need to flash the phone with the stock firmware.
Here is the topic that explains how to do it using Flashtool and also contains links to the firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2697277
Once your phone is unlocked, you can follow this topic to install CM11 on your phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2584956
and lastly, this tutorial will help you use your SD card as an internal storage: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711280&page=2
Thank you so much for your reply.
I was just coming to say that I had somehow managed to get CyanogenMod 11 rom installed and working fine (all be it with a lot of apps like play store etc missing. Do i have to install them after?)
ill have a look at the links you provided as well. thanks

CM13 ROM by Ivan_Meler - I've got issues

Hey there.
Sorry for creating a topic for this, I havent replied enough yet to any topics to put my question to the appropriate place.
I've been using Ivan_Meler's ROMs since they are available here, on the xda, and all did worked fine for me. So thanx, I do appreciate your work.
My problem is that my Note II (n7100, with baseband XXUFNG1) does not want to boot up I I flash CM13 rom. It's just get stuck to the CM boot logo. Wiped data, dalvik, cache, system before installion, tried with / without SU, with /without gapps, with / without AGNI kernel. I've tried to grab logcat or any log from my device but my pc does not recignize my phone while booting (just while recovery or the system is booted). I've also tried to use liveboot hoping it would tell me sg new, but nor it works.
Thanks for all your answers,
Ede

Thanks for all your answers,
Ede

do you have sd card inserted?
sd card won't mount and OS won't boot because of that

My first thread on XDA - Samsung Tab 3.7.0 lite (SM-T110) System restoring

Hello Everybody
I hope you can help me with my first Androidproblem.
I installed rootprivileg on my Tab by flashing Custom-Rom with Odin etc.
Everything was working fine after that. Super-SU was working and i was root and was able to change CPU-Settings and everything else. Now my problem. Since i am a Technerd and always want to learn more, i wanted to restore the system to default to have a clean device. I made a backup with Kies which worked fine (Windows 10). Then i went to the Settings menu on my tab and choose the reset option. Than the screen went black. Since then Android is only booting into CWM-Mode and the Tablet is not recognized anymore by Kies when i connect it via USB-Cable. It is recognized as a USB-Device by Windows but i cant restore the backup on the tablet.
When i press the powerbutton the tab always reboots in CWM-Recovery v. 6.0.4.8.
What can i do to solve the problem? Thank you very much for your help.
I really need it.

Could you please sent me a link to the CWM-Thread, so that i know with thread you mean? That would be very friendly.
I think i got the idea for solving the problem, but after reading for 8 hours on xda i feel like i am blind. So many different roms....so many ways to handle it. I am confused.
I would like to install the Una T111-Rom which also seems to work with the T110 Tab. But there is a big problem: Since i dont have access to my sd-card anymore i cant copy the rom in the backup-folder on the sd. I could take the sd-card out of the tab if i would find the adapter to the bigger format SD-Card, then i could put the card in my notebook and copy the file in the right directory. Maybe it would work then and i have a nice safe googlefree Tab.
Thank you very much for your kindness
Maybe using Adb is an option?:fingers-crossed::
I hope i have a solution now. I will try to install the Criskelo-Rom (although i am not a big fan of the dark colors in there) with Odin. I hope it works....because its starting to get intense....for a newbie like me.
Hello everybody
After having a constant bootloop in the CWM-Recovery i now managed to flash TWRP v.2.7.0.1 and it works. At least i boot into TWRP instead of CWM now. Its the TWRP-Version of SELinux and i cant access the kernels content, it says. What would be the next step? I can access my data on the (wiped) sd and main partition now but i still dont have the possibility to install the rom i would like (Criskelo or Stock NE4lite for T110) because i cant get it on the sdcard. I would really like to get back in the Androidbootup of my Tab...
Please help me out. I really need your experience with this. It took me 24 hours and a lot of reading, downloading etc to get to this point.
Thank you very much.
Very beautiful TWRP-Interface bye the way. Very impressive.
It says: Kernel does not have support for reading SELinux contents.
Hello guys
Keeping you up to date. I am smarter now...
I flashed the device with this custom-rom: T110UEUANE4. I transferred this file to my sdcard using ADB and then installed the Rom. Worked perfect.
Great Tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTGIAzofZCM
After rebooting i was hoping it would boot into Android, but it didnt. It booted into the TWRP and the screen flickered.
So i flashed again with this one: Philz Touch Advanced CWM recovery
Here i had the problem that ADB didnt work, so i flashed back the TWRP 2.7.0.1
I would like to know why i cant boot into Android after i installed the Custom-Rom for T110.
Any help and suggestions are deeply appreciated cause i am learning fast but i am still learning.
Bye the way: Now i understand how you can get addicted to flashing. But it would be nice to be able to boot in the system again...
Many thanks for your help.

You need to install stock recovery. Then reboot. The first reboot will boot into recovery, then you should be able to boot into rom.

Hello Everybody
I flashed my Tab successfully now with the custom-rom from mknrls. Many thanks for your work and your passion.:good:
Also i want to thank gr8nole for the keyword: Stock Recovery. Thanks for your files and your help.
The Tab is running well, except for the issue with the contacts - which is not such a big deal cause i use my Nokia N9 as a phone...not only as a phone... After flashing, it took me several days to "recover" myself from the loss of sleep.
I flashed the Tab 4 days ago.
My next Custom-Androidrom will probably be on my beloved N9.:good:
Maybe i will try to install UNA-OS on my Tab...i think i am becoming flash-addicted.
