LG G3 Notification Lights Issue (Continuous Flashing) - T-Mobile LG G3

Hello XDA,
I've been having a real headache lately trying to figure out why my LG G3 D851 notification lights are blinking without any missed notifications.
At first I had thought it was the G3 tweaks I installed, but nope it wasn't that. Then I removed Xposed and it ran okay for a while. But now its popping up again and not sure how to fix it or why its occurring.
Thanks in advance for the help! Any additional info just ask!

Same thing here on lollipop

In my past experience you need to start 100% fresh to remove all the problems xposed curses upon phones. Be it stock or aosp you need to wipe system, data and cache/dalvik cache before you reinstall the rom. Xposed is very cool but very buggy at the same time.

Thanks for the help! I might've figured out why it had that problem. Initially I assumed it was the xposed or g3tweaks until I really tested it. I use Titanium Backup and everytime I would try to freeze some of the LG bloatware(i.e. LG intelligent agent, LG mlt, etc.) It would have this notification issue. I've tested the phone now for more than a month without freezing any LG related app and no issues.
I'm not entirely sure of lolipop or whether or not you guys use Titanium Backup though.

I had this issue twice and it was g3 tweaks with xposed. I also had a couple other modules installed like gravity box so it could have been a conflict.
I have xposed now with gravity and titanium with all the bloatware frozen. No problems.

Yeah, that was the only way I could fix it too.

I also have this problem every once in a while, and I have never touched any kind of mods or ROMs.
I have never rooter nor changed firmware of my G3. Runs 100% stock and also has this issue.

Did you install xposed? If so completely remove it (uninstall framework etc) and try again

No xposed. Did a factory reset before trying art.

i'm having the same issue. i'm rooted, and i uninstalled xPosed. ART still won't "take". how do i figure out what is conflicting with ART??
Only thing I could think of doing is doing a factory reset or flashing a new ROM/Firmware and updating. ART runs fine for me, I've been switching between Dalvik and ART a couple of times and both run fine, with Android optimizing itself appropriately after each reboot, which is fine. Since ART IS in Beta, Google kinda just put it there for the sake of it in KitKat, and so people would know what to expect in Android L. I wouldn't expect it to run flawlessly across all Android devices that ran it, it's probably just a matter of waiting until it's a bit more optimized for all devices in Android L if a factory reset/re-flash doesn't fix it, unfortunately.
Most ART majors don't work.. wait, what are we talking about here?

[Q] Unfortunately, LGSmartCover has stopped.

I installed Cloudy's latest ROM and I was messing around in Titanium, freezing things. I rebooted and upon reboot I get the error message "Unfortunately LGSmartCover has stopped." I click OK and it pops back up immediately. I'm frozen here. I can make very quick presses enough to get the phone powered off, but it's back to the error upon reboot.
I suppose my question is: What can I do? Is there a way to boot into safe mode from here? Is there a way to boot directly back into TWRP where I can access the latest backup I have?
Any help would be appreciated. This is the first post I have ever made here, having been a member for years and having flashed hundred of ROMS, all without ever posting and asking stupid question and cluttering up threads. I'm well versed in what to do, if someone could provide some outside-the-box thinking. I only say that because I know how harsh XDA can be to (seemingly, in this case) new folks. I believe I have posted in the correct section, but please tell me if I have not.
Many, many thanks.

I installed xposed on my stock vs98039a, and the same thing happened. I did a factory reset and it still does it.
I am just about ready to throw up and need spome help!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm on stock h811n without xposed and since the stagefright patch I get that on startup every time.

Startup Failed

Phone's rooted, install was success, and subsequent restarts after that was fine. But now I removed some Verizon and LG crapware and after a restart, I get Failed to boot and then it loads the Verizon Flash screen, and occasionally gets to "Android is updating" and loading apps and immediately crashes. Any tips?
Try a factory reset? Root will stay.

Factory reset did not work.
Odd, I don't really have any other advice, don't think the Verizon version has a kdz

Yes the KDZ is out right now, but I have no idea how to flash it.
Edit, do I go through the process in the root thread but replace the file listed with the kdz?
Ouch...this is why I only disable system apps that I'm not sure about, as opposed to actually removing them.
I'm really not sure what you can do if a factory reset isn't working? Flash back to stock is the only thing I can think of?

Thanks a lot, I'm gonna give this a try. Would i possibly be able to message you on skype if you have it?

Sorry I'm a bit busy at the moment. I've never used that return to stock before anyway. Should be easy enough. it's the only thing I can think of trying.
You're not supposed to conpletely uninstall system apps when on stock rom. This will result in security errors (os checks its system files to see if it's been tampered with) and then refuse to boot. This is not specific to the G4 but almost all LG devices
we should probably start a list of bloat that we can actually uninstall/remove as opposed to simply blocking!
There is a DeBloater thread already here. I don't recall a list of what is OK to remove, but people have been posting their log files or which ones THEY removed.
I'd like to add, that I was able to get back to stock with ease.
How were you able to get back to stock?

I just went through this and I think I figured out which app is causing the constant reboots. Mine was literally rebooting approximately 100 times per day (not exaggerating)...Use Titanium Backup and freeze "Android System Webview" so far that seems to have solve my issue. Hope this helps anyone experiencing this reboot nonsense! Good luck!
So I ran into this same problem and after reading this thread about removing system applications on a stock rom I've learned my lesson. I just finished using a Debloater application on my rooted G4 and everything was operating smoothly while I was using the phone. Initially I only blocked the apps I was focusing on (some 30 of them) but eventually ended up deleting them. I decided to reboot my phone just to cover my bases and now I'm getting a boot screen error underneath the LG symbol that says "Start up failed. Your device didn't start up successfully..." I'm able to boot into the stock recovery and attempted a factory reset to no avail. I also attempted to run USB Debugging but it just reset and went back to the bootloop.
Any advice on how to flash back to stock?
If need be and flashing back to stock isn't necessary I have screenshots of the apps I deleted thanks to the backups created by Gates Jr's Debloater app.

Disregard my previous request for help I was able to follow the KDZ flashing method posted earlier in this thread and now my apps are optimizing great success!

Very unusual "system data" storage behaviour!

I have a completely stock phone & I was using nova launcher from day one but I turned back to the default launcher today and noticed a strange data in the 'shelf'. It was showing that I have low %age of storage left. At first I thought it must be a bug but then after some time I checked the storage in settings and thereafter confirmed this using the app "DiskUsage".
Could anyone help me out here? Kindly have a look at the screenshot I'm attaching.
In short, System data is using 27.3 GB of storage!!!
I suspect it may be due to the flash that I did some time back when I returned to complete stock from a rooted OnePlus 3. Though I followed the official website instructions.
Thanks guys for reading this message & I know someone out there will know about this as I'm not that lucky to encounter a completely unique bug :good:

Latest build should fix this.. If not do a clean install and stay on the latest build. Also if the issue persists try to move to EXT4. F2fs still has loads of weird issues..

Well, I got my latest .5 update yesterday and sadly it didn't solve it so I guess I have to format my phone again. Man, that's really a pain in the A. By the way, is this a common occurrence in OnePlus 3 software?
As far as ext and f2fs is concerned, I don't remember manually formatting my phone to f2fs so I guess it was nougat update which did this!
Thanks man!

Don't know... I haven't seen this issue yet..
hmm, I'll wait till the O update for a clean install as setting up few particular apps (mostly banking & two-factor authentication) is really a boring/huge task for me, plus few apps have just NO backup solution like the now-defunct but awesome keyboard Fleksy, Adguard user filters. I really think Android needs a good global backup function to sync basic things like android settings, SMS, Call logs.
Meanwhile, if anyone know a solution which doesn't include formatting the phone, please do tell me !

I dont really have a clue about titanium backup. Used it once way back when I had Galaxy Note 1.
I remember, it's UI was very complex and had a big learning curve but despite all this, isn't titanium backup a root only app?

Oh right. It is a root only app... Try using rom settings backup from play store, coupled with sms backup and restore.. Does most of the job

Sorry to break it to you but even Rom Settings Backup is root only
but thank you for telling me about this app, may come in handy if I go back to root.
and yes, I did know about the SMS and call log backup, I'm more concerned about the few specific apps like Fleksy keyboard app.
Thank you for your reply.

Whatsapp Service Gets Terminated

I'm running NitrogenOS, without any modifications. I don't have any battery saving apps as far as I know. Whatsapp's data isn't restricted, and I've checked the settings there is nothing that can restrict Whatsapp. It is allowed to run in background. It's been 8 hours and Whatsapp has been working for only one hour. There is no wakelock blocked, I've resetted applications preferences to see if that solves it, it didn't. I also had this issue in Nougat running Resurrection Remix. I was running Nitrogen first, there was no problem, then I clean flashed Cardinal Xtended and it worked fine too. I wanted to go back to Nitrogen so I wiped the system and flashed Nitrogen. I didn't wipe data because I didn't wanted to start over. May that be causing a problem? I'm really lost and I don't know what to do.

Nope it's the same whatsapp data that was left over from the previous ROM (Cardinal Xtended). Will keeping the data from a previous ROM installation cause a problem?

Your issue was the dirty flash. This is the reason people tell you not to do it.
Starting over all the time is part of flashing roms. Get used to it. This is also part of the reason most devs keep their device very minimal when it comes to apps. Most devs I know only install like 5 apps on top of stock because they have to reset all the time.

That is what I do. You may have to clear the apps cache and reboot as tibu does cause issues with Google messaging service that WhatsApp uses.
Well I have wiped the whatsapp data aaand everything is fine for now.
